This establishment is now under new management as of July. We were surprised to walk in and not see him. The cashier is the son in law of the owner and is from Jordan. Very pleasant. We ordered 3 pita wraps, 2 falafel and 1 chicken shwarma. The food took a while to come out. But once it did, it was larger than the previous owner’s wraps and was equally as good. The new owner came out and asked us if everything was ok. Good customer service, he seems like a nice laid back, humble type of guy — a total contrast from the friendly but boastful previous owner. Keeping it at 4 stars because of the«divey» ambiance. While I was eating, there was a fly that just would not leave me alone. We will be back here. I overheard that they will be adding desserts, looking forward to that. They also will stay open a little longer than 7 pm as it had been.

This place is great! The owners are husband and wife and both are so pleasant and funny. The food is mouth-watering! I highly recommend.

WTF! pita craps… not pita wraps… this is so not authentic. poor décor… a skate or die poster on the wall and other 80’s movie posters staff were nice… but this is totally not what I expected. in fact if I was wanting a mix between subway and a greek place… this would be it. shredded cheese and ranch dressing with lamb heated in a micrwave stuffed into a pita. the only place I have ever been asked if I wanted pickles in my gyro. speaking of that… they do not even pronounce the name of the food they serve correctly. totally nuts.

Usually, I’m not a big fan of Mediterranean food, but I decided to try out from the reviews on Unilocal.Let me tell you, this place was so good! I got the chicken shawarma and my friend got the gyro. I don’t know what is in the sauce that they use, but it stands out. I’d go back again.

Great tasting food, the Falafel taste so good that I am stuck on it, it eliminates meat from a meal which is a good thing.

The service from the owner was not very friendly, he talked over me and cut me off. But, he had what I wanted, it was 1p and I hadn’t eaten all day. I say only two stars because you pay and return to a business mainly based on the way they treat you. However, I had the falafal wrap and it was satisfactory, but I didn’t like that when I asked him what dressing will you put on it, he said,“I can’t tell you that”. Just a bad attitude. I won’t be back.

Uh-huh. It’s that good. Yes the owner is a strange one, but a nice man it seems. He appears to be overly braggadocios until you take a bite of the falafel which he has been telling you is the best EVER made. Go ahead… eat it. Then you will realize that he is indeed quite the humble man, for he should be elevated to the status of legend with such an accomplishment as his falafel. Fresh, fresh, and crispy, hot, crunchy, cool, fresh. Exquisite. And the portions are huge. You will NOT slap this man after eating this. On the contrary, you would be happy to have his image on your nation’s coinage. Go visit him. He will annoy you, but it will be worth it. No regrets. Going back real soon for more.

Nitpicks about the meat aside, this is just a superior dining experience. Über-friendly owner, amazing selection of different kinds of wraps, fully loaded wraps with all kinds of fresh veggies that blend together perfectly… this is heaven. I keep coming back when in the area even if I’ve already eaten. I’ve seen one bite mollify an angry rush-hour commuter. Apparently they used to be on Poplar at Mendenhall? If only they’d stayed so close…

This is hands-down the best falafel in town! His sauces are super-flavorful, and his food is super-fresh!

Great to finally find Shawarma in Memphis. The good; super friendly owner. Tasty chicken(didn’t appear to be actual rotisserie shawarma) and wonderful falafel. Delicious garlic sauces and great fresh pitas. Make it better; Give us other greats like great treats like hummus, tabouli, shawarma plates with rice, salad and pickle. Will absolutely be back!

The falafel was amazing and the owner was a very nice guy. Will definitely be eating here again. Also, the portions for the price are crazy. I only had to pay $ 6 for a wrap that left me feeling ridiculously full.

Very good fresh food! The owner is originally from Jordan and he knows how to make great wraps, including felafel, chicken, and his own creation called a Jippy, which is 75% beef and 25% lamb. The Jippy ISABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS. It even has chopped up radishes in it, which you wouldn’t think would work in a wrap. He also sells delicious baklava. Totally recommend going to this restaurant!

I can’t believe this place is that good. My wife and I went here for lunch because I accidentally missed my turn to Jason’s Deli. Since I like gyro and shawama I guest I’ll give a try. When we came in the place was very basic. It had tables, chair, regular drink fridge, counter for chips, a glass around salad table, and counter to take order. Oops, I almost forgot it a medium size screen TV on top of the drink fridge. We met the owner and asked us if we have been in here before. He boasted that he makes the best falafel in town and if we don’t like it he said to «throw it in his face.» He also told us that if we did not like the food we ordered, throw the food in his face. So my wife ordered a gyro and I ordered a chicken shawama. It took him about 10 minutes to cook the meat and he called to the salad counter to point out vegetable we wanted inside our wraps. He also put in some humus and other types of sauces inside our wraps. We both grabbed our drinks and shared a bag of potato chips. The wraps(gyro & shawama) were HUGE. I ate the whole thing and my wife could only eat half. I had to help her finish it. The food was very good and I was really surprised. The prices were reasonable, service is funny, and the place is okay. You’ll be hungry with the ambiance BUT the food will definitely fill you up. I will sure come back to try out their falafel wrap because the people on the other table were raving how good the falafel was and I was already stuffed from helping my wife ate her gyro which was very good. Give it a try and if you don’t like it throw in in the owners face. That what he says and insist. I had to apologized to him because I could not throw anything in his face because I ate it.
