Based on the sketchy location I was skeptical of its being very good. My mind was changed when I finally visited. It has some of the best Vietnamese cuisine in Memphis. The menu is extensive and the food is fresh. I enjoyed #44 vermicelli bowl with an extra side order of egg rolls.

I love this place! I have been several times and the food and service is always top notch. We were barely seated and we had water and someone ready to take our order, this is rare in most restaurants — this family ran business puts an emphasis on customer service. Try any of the Phở’s, the spring rolls, and Bun Bo Hue are my favorites. May not be pleasant looking from the street, but they deliver!!! Definitely when I am in the mood for Vietnamese food in Memphis, this is my go to location.

Excellent Phở Tai. I could eat that every day. It’s a big place inside and the servers are very nice. The Phở is delicious and flavorful. Broth is wonderful! I’ll be coming back. There’s lots of places to get Phở and this one is really good I had chicken fried rice too and they did a great job. Edamame too. It’s closer than some of the other spots in Cordova, and they do a great job packing the to-go orders. It’s PHO real!

I have officially declared this my favorite restaurant(to my mother, lol)! This time I went a bit on the ‘lighter’ side; an order of spring rolls & the appetizer order of seafood soup. I loved them both, especially the peanut sauce that comes with the rolls. I ordered my husband a to go order of combination fried rice & egg rolls. Oh my goodness, what an excellent value for $ 6.99(the rice)! I was an enormous amount of rice, chock full of chicken, beef & shrimp. And it was delicious! I would say one order is enough for 3 servings. Keep up the great work, Phuong Long!

The Best Vietnamese place in Memphis. Excellent Phở, excellent spring rolls. Decent service, the best atmosphere for a Vietnamese Restaurant in town… prices are in line with the other places. If you like Vietnamese food… this is the place to go.

Food seems pretty solid. Except for the soups. They are more of a liquid. That’s just a lame joke. The place is nice and clean. Great artwork murals on the walls. The price seems fair. This is my first visit here. I’ve been a long time loyal customer to my favorite place in the whole world, so I’ve never had reason to come here. I shall never again experience the great food I’ve had so many times down the road because the Memphis fire department failed to save what was once such a great restaurant. Saigon Le, how I so dearly miss you. I will mourn for you for years to come. I only hope there’s some worthy substitute who can provide me with only a fraction of what I experienced there and came to love. Phuong Long, how I hope you can fill this void I have. From my one meal here, I do believe you are worthy, but you don’t have what they did. Maybe it’s unfair at this point to compare you to someone else. After all, you didn’t ask for the fire, you didn’t ask to be compared to anyone else, you didn’t ask to be held to such a high standard, and you certainly didn’t ask to gain me as a customer or a pseudo food critic. It seems as though this is exactly the position we are in, and I will hold you to a higher standard than the average restaurant. To comment on your menu and your food, I’ll start by saying I am uneducated about it and for the most part, and I don’t know what I’m talking about. The language barriers we share make it difficult to ask for assistance. I don’t know what to order or how to ask for it. Down the street, I just used guessing as my technique for ordering, and I would remember the things I liked the most. I liked everything they served me, but some were better than others. I don’t know your menu yet, and either I will have to try to do some research, or I’ll just resort to guessing. It will take some time to adjust to this life-altering change, but I’ll have to move on with my life and learn to love it. Maybe it will work out to be a good thing! At first glance, your lunch menu doesn’t offer the options I was hoping for. The entrée, egg roll, rice, and soup. I think the soup was missing from yours. I should have asked for a carry out menu so I could do some studying. I simply chose to go with a soup and it didn’t disappoint. I’m not familiar enough with phở to make a good decision, so I ordered the combination with everything. I was very satisfied with how huge your bowl was, and I finished the entire thing. The broth was wonderful. I didn’t really know what tripe was until I read a little Wikipedia, and it sounds kinda gross. I didn’t care much for the tripe either, but ate it none the less. Everything else in that phở was outstanding. I loved the meatballs. I liked the beef and chicken. The vegetables were great. I made mine super hot with that sriracha. The flavors blended wonderfully and I enjoyed every bite. I was very impressed. As for the building, it is large, new, and clean. It must have undergone a major transformation and I was comfortable being there. The service was what I would expect. I chose something quickly and ordered it by number. I do think an English speaking American would have difficulty asking questions. Phuong Long, I hope we can find a way to establish a great relationship, but I will always have heightened expectations. I debated about giving you 5 stars, but in this case, I want more from you before you earn it. That will make your 5 star rating more deserving.

This place is great! I was worried after Saigon Le burned down, I would never find another decent Vietnamese restaurant in Midtown. But I was wrong. And they are open on Sundays! I had the vermicelli with grilled pork #40. Delicious. The only negative thing I can say is they use iceberg lettuce, rather than leafy lettuce. But I’m allergic to iceberg, so it’s my problem, not theirs. Yay for Phuong Long!

Phuong Long is a very different restaurant for me to rate because of the difficulty in knowing what to order — not just knowing what to choose, but also knowing what everything is! This kind of food isn’t really something I eat often. But it’s good! My current favorite is the vermicelli, although, once I have returned and tried different options I will give an update.

I guess I can’t really rate it 5 because I wouldn’t really know but these things r good: Fried egg rolls are pretty good, not the usual. Chicken thigh w fried rice. The rice isn’t good but the chicken is and if they could just fry the rice in the same sauce as the chicken it would be amazing Phở was no different than other places. They do use the same broth for all of them I think because other places usually don’t.

The food here is really good. The service leaves a bit to be desired and I’ve seen cleaner. But the food. The soups are great. But I had on recommendation from a friend the shrimp with broccoli, mushrooms and onions. It’s was really tasty — more so than I expected. We were in a party of 12 though and some of the people in my party were finished eating by the time others received their food. The checkout process is chaotic at best. If you have a small group or lots of time, this is good. Some of the items are impressive — the soups and the bird nest. Honestly, I could get the shrimp with veggies and steamed rice anywhere and I just didn’t see anything to bring me back here. It’s not horrible but it’s just not great.

Phuong Long has replaced Saigon Le as my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, hands down. The atmosphere is great(the Nosey42 artwork on the wall is awesome, as all of his work is) and the food is of superior quality. My wife and I tried a little of everything. Well, not literally everything: * We shared half of a Bánh Mi sandwich and I took the other half home for later. It had the right amount of kick to it and was great. * She had the curry tofu and I had the curry shrimp. It had just the right amount of spice and rich flavor. Her tofu was cooked very well(not spongy like most places that don’t know how to cook with tofu) and the shrimp was huge and cooked perfectly. There was too much food to finish it all so we got to-go boxes. * The bubble tea is great. She got the Taro root bubble tea and I got the strawberry bubble tea so we could try each other’s. The strawberry one was great but I was jealous of her’s because the Taro root bubble tea was SO good! We’ll definitely be coming back.

My new favorite vietnamese place ever since phở vietnam closed its doors. The restaurant has gone through a thorough renovation for about a year now and i’ve heard raves about the food as well. We usually get the goat hot pot(Lau De) to go and it is usually packed with taro, and goat meat, it also comes with traditional greens, fried tofu and noodles on the side. Lets not forget about the fermented tofu sauce thats on the side as well. As for the phở i usually only get it with just beef and meatballs. It is very flavorful as if the broth has been cooked for 30 days!(yea i exaggerated but it is very flavorful compared to all the other phở broths i’ve had). If you have any doubts i recommend you just getting a bowl of meatball and broth which is the phở broth and trying it for yourself before ordering a whole bowl of phở. For the rice dish, the BBQ pork chop with pork skin, meat patty and fried egg on top is by far the Best i’ve had in Memphis. The pork chop is juicy and flavorful when it is served unlike other places where there is no flavor. Please do try this place out and see for yourself! #Yelp901 #eatlocal

My favorite Vietnamese place in Memphis. Phở Binh and this place share the first spot. The owner is very pleasant and friendly. The food yum. I love lemongrass tofu and I believe they make the best lemongrass tofu in town. So flavorful, and the tofu is just perfect. Their phở is good too but phở Binh definitely does a better job at that. And how can I forget to mention about fresh coconut water. So refreshing!!! There are a few other things on their menu that I have tried on different occasions and nothing has disappointed me so far. And the best part is, it’s pretty affordable.

I hate to admit that I went somewhere other than phở bihn for phở… But on Sunday’s I have no choice as phở bihn is closed. I read great reviews and couldn’t believe I’d never heard of it until now. My husband got the lemongrass beef vermicelli and absolutely loved it. The beef was high quality as was the beef in my phở tai. The broth was slightly more oily than phở bihns but still delicious and satisfying. The server recommended a purple bubble tea when I asked if they had any. I can’t remember the name but it did not disappoint. It was just sweet enough! We will be back.

This update is loooong overdue, and my apologies to Phuong Long for leaving them at 3 stars for so long! This is my favorite restaurant in Memphis, hands down. I’m in here a few times a month(at least) ordering a feast. There are so many delicious things to choose from! Some of my must-haves: — fried egg rolls. THEBEST. Ask nicely and they will happily bring out some extra lettuce and cilantro so you can roll them up authentic-style. — hot wings. I swear, they make them a little differently each time I get them, but they are always fantastic. — fried squid with ginger and jalapeño. Unbelievably good. Brought my dad here last November and he ordered this. Since then, I have gotten it as part of my meal EVERY time. It is THAT good! Comes with a tasty sweet chili dipping sauce, though I like it must as much plain or in the fish sauce dressing that comes with the egg rolls. — crispy pan fried noodles. Hard to describe… they basically take noodles and fry them into a pancake shape, then cut the pancake into pieces and toss them in a stir fry. An amazing combination of crispy and chewy. It’s on the menu as a seafood combo, but I prefer it with just pork and beef. — lo mein. NOTHING like the insipid versions found elsewhere. They use fresh egg noodles that are chewy and delicious. I don’t like lo mein at other places, but this is one of my fave dishes. — lemongrass tofu. Crispy and flavorful. Even if you think you don’t like tofu, you might find out differently if you try this! — soups! I’ve tried several varieties and they are all good. I love that they will serve my raw beef and phở noodles on the side so nothing gets overcooked or mushy. The bun Bo hue is fantastic, as is the more delicate bun rien. Haven’t had soup in a while because it’s been so hot, but I’m looking forward to some bowls when the weather cools down. Ok…this should be enough to get you started! This place is a GEM, and I urge you to give it a go! Ask Scott for recommendations if you need any help! :)

I don’t usually stray from my beloved Phở Binh, but Phuong Long did not disappoint! Came here for the first time for lunch and left happy and ready for a nap! They had a great menu of lunch specials for only $ 6.99 but I decided on the phở ga(chicken). It came out quickly, piping hot and with all the condiments. I didn’t really like the chicken itself but flavor of the broth was amazing! Basically burned my tongue because I couldn’t wait long enough for it to cool. The rice noodles were soft and perfect in the phở. My husband’s fave Vietnamese dish is bo luc lac(marinated beef cubes with salad) and I think Phuong Long is the best place to try it in Memphis! Overall definitely a winner in my book. Can’t wait to try other dishes and the bubble tea!

One of my favorite Asian places in Memphis! I know that’s not saying much considering this city has a severe lack of good Asian food, but it really was tasty. My boyfriend ordered the phở and now he won’t stop nagging me to go back for more! I had one of the lunch specials with beef and snow peas. It was reasonably priced and the perfect portion. I’ll definitely be back! Update: I’ve been back multiple times since, and am officially obsessed with the Phở Thai. It’s seriously addicting. Peter’s moved on to the vermicelli which he claims is even better, but I’m not ready to stray from the delicious phở. Bonus: I always have enough for leftovers! Disclaimer: The service does leave something to be desired. The main server who seems to always be there is definitely a bit of a character. You can frequently hear him bickering with the people in the kitchen. However, he’s always been nice enough to us and is great at giving recommendations for first-timers. I brought my grandparents once and they thought he was very helpful.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place but I was leery. I was actually pretty leery until we started eating. The spring rolls were prepared perfect and comparable to all our favorites. Then we got our main course and it was wonderful! I had the combination vermicelli and it had lots of different flavor that married well together. My husband got the bbq pork chop plate with egg and a meat patty. He loved it and said this is his new favorite spot on Cleveland. We will definitely go back to try more!!!

We happened into Phuong Long on a Sunday morning. We wanted to check out Al-Rayan, at the end of the strip of shops. It was closed, but we looked down the row and saw about a dozen minivans, each belonging to Vietnamese families. We decided to check the place out. On the first visit we had Phở, Banh Mi, and Vermicelli. The kids(2 and 5) loved the Phở, and consistently ask for it. We absolutely love this place. Great service from Tony, the owner, and Scott, a longtime restaurant worker who knows his food and works to get to know customers preferences. Scott will listen to what you like, ask about what you have had before, and make recommendations. He has led us off the menu several times, and we have enjoyed it. Personal favorites include the lemongrass, rangon(tofu, crab, shrimp, lobster), vermicelli, Phở, and Banh Mi. We see a lot of Vietnamese patrons ordering the crêpe/pancake dishes, but we keep forgetting to try them.

I loved the décor, the wait staff and the food. My new fave Vietnamese food restaurant First I ordered the tofu spring rolls that were very big and loaded with veggies! Then I ordered the Sesame Tofu and it came with broccoli. The whole dish was tender and so delicious. My BFF had the Mongolian tofu which he described as just the perfect amount of spicy! I also noticed that they have food available for express takeout. I would’ve tried the bubble tea but they use half/half cream instead of coconut water/milk. I would recommend this place to my friends! I forgot to say something about the stage. There are bands that play there too but I didn’t see the line-up, so I may check that out online.
