I love Mediterranean food, and this was a cool, slightly different take on it. I ordered the Orr Special, which was pricey but also tasted very nice and came with a substantial amount of food. It took a while to get it, but they brought me a small appetizer for my troubles. It looked fresh, and was pretty unique when it comes to Memphis. The prices were affordable, but some plates were admittedly high. The cashier/server girl was also very friendly and talkative. I will be visiting again in the future.

This place has amazing Iraqi food. Similar to Greek but spiced differently. A must try in Memphis’s growing food culture

I grabbed a «quick» Iraqi beef Kabob for a late lunch and it was decent. The flavors weren’t overly pronounced but for $ 5 I wasn’t expecting greatness. The people were kind and friendly and 10 minutes or so later I was on my way. I’ll go back and try something more substantial next time but was thankful to find a new adventure off Summer.

I highly recommend this place. Very nice food. The service is not so much as the staff is not experienced but my overall experience is good. The Iraqi Kobob is outstanding.

Notice all the one review people giving it 5 stars. Got to love that. Went with the Gooch for lunch today. Unfortunately we were not impressed. The service was fine and everyone was nice but the food was reheated and dry. The falafel was fresh and was decent but not great. Had an okra soup that was just ok. The side salad was decent but nothing special. The meats seemed like they might be good if fresh but it was all reheated and kinda gross. Won’t come back as there are too many other places that do this food better. The Iraqi tea was good. Oh yes, we had the Orr sample plate that had a bit of everything.

No I am not cheating on Barakat Middle Eastern Restaurant. Barakat specialty is Jordanian food which is superb tasting specials. Orr restaurant is Iraqi specialty which also serve«out of bounds» mixed grill kebabs. Just like Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese, completely different but some things are alike. Like falafel, shawarma, gyro, etc. A middle eastern staple with their own specialty. Living in Memphis, we are blessed that great middle eastern restaurants are starting to open all over the city. It gives us variety and we are starting to learn how the food should really taste. This is a mom and pop owned restaurant that serves ample amount of delicious food and they are very proud where the food originated from. It is a quaint restaurant with a beautiful pictures of Persian art, the marsh land and ancient statues. My only turn off is they serve canned sodas. That’s it, but everything else is hunky dory. Great service and wallet friendly. Give it a try and again, variety is good!!!

Great food. Fresh, and made to order. Super nice and very affordable. Décor is reflective of cost, but worth the visit.

This is a welcoming and cute place to get quality Mediterranean food. I really want to give it 3.5 stars. The hummus was really good, but the bread served with it got stiff quickly like it was reheated? The tekka chicken was very flavorful and juicy. I would suggest trying the baklava over the sugar cookies. The server/hostess was very pleasant but wasn’t extremely attentive. I would like to go back and try a gyro or shawerma.

Excellent food and very fresh. I had the Iraqi Kabab sandwich and my wife had the Falafel platter. Neither of us were disappointed. Beware of the platter. It is a ton of food. The size of the pita bread portion was enormous. It’s good to see Memphis get a good Middle Eastern restaurant within the city limits. We will be back.

Super cute and cozy family owned restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wasn’t feeling well so had to take the food to go. Unfortunately it smelled so good the car ride home, I didn’t have the patience to take a picture before diving in! The taste did not disappoint. I ordered the teeka beef platter; it was absolutely delicious! and I’m already planning my next trip there!

Was driving by and saw this restaurant with the ‘now open’ sign so i decided to check it out. It has a nice open seating layout and the owner and staff were very friendly. The dish i wanted to order was out. Apparently the ‘iraqi kabab’ is very popular and it runs out very quickly(I went an hr before closing). So i ordered the tekka beef kabab and it was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be going here again.
