I honestly don’t know why they have a 3.5 star rating. 5 stars for the sticky rice and mango alone! I had the curry and my friend the panang curry and we were both amazingly full and satisfied after. So so good! Will be definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Straight up the best pad thai I’ve ever had. I used to order from here all the time when I lived in Memphis, and after moving to LA, it had been years since I’d eaten at Jasmine. Over Christmas, I went with the whole family, and it was just as delicious as I’d left it. All the curries are amazing, but that pad thai is just next level. The only disappointment was the dumpling appetizer, but I’ll go back every time I come home.

lol the quality of the Tofu was very worrying. Not sure how long ago it was made, but definitely not today

I’ve wanted to like this place since it is right in the neighborhood. I have been disappointed by both the service and the food. I went back hoping that the food would be better. It just isn’t very good. Also, the floor is sticky and doesn’t seem clean.

Decent place. Great place if there are vegetarians in your group, but probably not somewhere I’d go on my own. I went for dinner and enjoyed the food. The dish definitely wasn’t as spicy as I expected(as in, I asked for medium and there was no spiciness). For dinner, it’s also a bit on the pricey side. Might be a nice lunch spot though if there’s a separate lunch menu with lunch prices.

Went to jasmine with large group of 10 people and in general the Food was mediocre. The service was much worse than the food. Pad Thai Noodles have more onions than noodles. Some guests at our table just stopped by to socialize. Older lady waitress was rude and insulted the guests for not ordering threatening to charge $ 3 for just sitting and refused to give guests water. She was beyond rude. Will never come back. Bad service mediocre food. ***would give 0 stars if possible

Yum! Really solid food and perfect Cooper Young location. Best dishes I’ve had are the chicken satay, fried rice(chicken or tofu) and Mongolian beef. My only issue is that price is a little steep for the quantity, but I’ve come to terms with it and it’s definitely worth it :) The service is not the best, but the couple who own/run the place are passionate about their business and hey that counts for something. Don’t forget to try the coconut ice cream!

Move along, almost anything nearby is likely to be better. I was incredibly excited to find a restaurant in Memphis that had vegetarian in the name. Five dishes later I am reasonably certain that $ 10 at the Asian grocery and almost no cooking skills could have produced an equivalent meal. The best that can be said is that it is not the worst Thai I have eaten and that each dish did taste different.

I took a rare venture into vegetarianism. At Jasmine, I got the Yum Voon Sen, a vermicelli(grass noodles) dish with soy tofu, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and peanuts. Unlike Thai dishes that I’m accustomed to, this is a «cold» entrée that isn’t fried, roasted or prepared in any other heated cooking method. The most noticeable thing about the Yum Voon Sen is its pungent aroma that tastes like sweat, stemming from the raw onions and cucumbers. To undercut that, I plucked out the onions and added a lot of heavily-seeded Thai pepper sauce. As I will explain later, using an ample amount of Jasmine’s hot sauce is a big no-no for me. However, it was the only way I could overcome the aroma and finish my lunch. Rice and beer(Singha, Thailand’s finest and much better and less ridiculous than a Bud Light) also helped, with the beer also helping me overcome the aftertaste. The vermicelli was bland, although it contributed to an interesting meal that was memorable. I would be lying if I said that I would order this again, but I don’t want to discourage others from giving Jasmine’s Yum Voon Sen a try if for no other reason than to experience something new. After having a taste of Vegetarian Thai, focused on something that is more appealing to me. Before I start, I have an admission to make: my favorite Jasmine entrée is the Kung Pao Three. Yes, I know this is a Chinese dish but I love eating it with a glass of Yellow Tail Chardonnay. For this review, it wouldn’t have been smart to write about it(and get clowned by certain individuals for it) so I decided to go pure Thai. To make sure that I was getting something legit, I sought the advice of the matriarchal owner who suggested the Basil Curry Paste Tofu with beef. When I ordered it, the lady(whose name I should know) asked me if I wanted it spicy or mild. Forgetting my past experiences, I foolishly chose«spicy» without giving it a second thought. However, my memories quickly came back when I dug into my plate. Despite the vegetables and seasoning, the biggest thing that stood out in the curry/tofu dish was the level of the spiciness. It was so hot that it overwhelmed everything else on my plate, including the curry. When compared to other foods, it wasn’t the spiciest thing that I’ve had. It certainly doesn’t come close to Kooky Canuck’s Holy Smoke! Wings that made me tap out after the first bite. Still, the curry/tofu had me drinking copious amounts of water in order to nearly finish my meal. After finishing the curry/tofu and rice on my plate, I took the rest of it home and ate it the next day with Ramen noodles. With only a small amount, I was able to enjoy it better because it wasn’t as spicy. Overall, I liked the Basil Curry Paste Tofu in spite of the spiciness but will definitely get a milder version the next time around. If there’s a lesson to take from this, it is to respect the spiciness of Thai cuisine. To read the entire review, go to

Love the Jasmine. Lots of vegetarian options. Thai Peanut, cashew vegetable flower, the Bird’s Nest and Ma Po Tofu were all great. Favorite Asian restaurant in Memphis.

I have been going to Jasmine since they were over on Covington Pike … At least since 1996. They are fantastic. To me, the food is different than what you’d get from a typical Thai restaurant. It’s more… Home cooked… If that makes any sense. I love it. Their hot and sour soup is great, and their vegetarian egg rolls. I also usually get the pad thai and #28… Which I believe is broccoli and tofu in a garlic sauce. The pad thai is a tad sour(vinegar?) and really good. I also appreciate that despite the fact I no longer live in Memphis, and only stop in every couple of years, the owner STILL remembers me and my order. It’s mind boggling! Her memory is super good.

One of the best thai restaurants I’ve been to. It’s a family owned restaurant with a sweet older couple running the place. The lemongrass tofu is delicious! I am a spicy food lover and their spicy level is perfect for my taste.

I love this place! Lots of good options for Vegans and Meat eaters… I have tried lots of veggie items on the menu and they are truly all great! Best Thai food in midtown!

Jasmine Thai is delicious! My boyfriend and I were the only people there when we got there around 7:30 pm. We had been anxious to try the spot since it’s recently been closed for renovation. We started with egg rolls, which were so fresh— an absolute must on the menu. I ordered the pad Thai and he had the Kung pow trio for our main courses. I ended up liking his better but not because mine wasn’t good. I wouldn’t be a woman if I didn’t want what I didn’t order, right? :-) For dessert we tried the mango and sticky rice, which the waitress suggested. One word: AMAZING. This was my first time trying a Thai dessert and it’s officially my favorite. The waitress was very sweet and took very good care of us. I can’t wait to go back!

Food-4 stars Location-5 stars Service-5 stars Atmosphere-3 stars ANOTHER long overdue review on my part. A small little restaurant right in the heart of Cooper Young, this place had been putting out great Thai food for a number of years. Good for dine in and for take out. Yes, they are lacking on the atmosphere front(I can’t tell you how many times I have thought that a $ 10k makeover would do wonders for this place), but Jasmine is FAR better than Bhan Thai… I think they are heavy on atmosphere but weak on food. So, get passed the cheap chairs and tables and saddle up for some spicy Thai food and a cold beer… you’ll be happy you did!

Oh, Drew P, you get so many bonus points for introducing me to this gem. I’m the first to admit that I have no idea about what to order at Thai restaurants(I’m still learning about this genre of cuisine). Luckily for me, Drew is quite the expert and ordered for me. And boy oh boy was I in for a treat. The soup was AMAZING and the dumplings were out of this world. Normally I’d look at you like you’d lost your mind when you used words like Pad Thai and curry, but my little world has just been busted open… and I can’t wait to go back to Jasmine. Yeah, it doesn’t have the atmosphere that Bhan Thai has, but while there isn’t an outdoor patio, they win hands down in the food department… and the service. Our waitress was an absolute doll.

I have had both excellent and terrible experiences here. I won’t be going back because they lack consistency, but it’s not terrible. One time I had great food, another time my food was only so-so. Considering how expensive it is, I’m not willing to gamble trying new things or even gamble going back. I don’t want to pay that much money and have what I normally get taste bad.

I’ve always been skeptical and frankly underwhelmed by Thai food. That is, until I ate at Jasmine. Wow. Just wow. Best Thai food I’ve ever had and it made me want to have it on a regular basis. The person who seemed to be the cook/owner/waiter all in one was nice enough to let us in for dinner even though they hadn’t quite opened yet. Super welcoming, friendly, and helpful when it came to picking items from the menu. We indulged in appetizers, entrees, Thai iced tea, and even dessert(despite being full) and didn’t regret a single bite. We were just in Memphis for work, but I hope to come back and enjoy their food and friendly faces again. It made the end of our trip fantastic.

Because of Bhan Thai’s price, my wife and I had settled on Jasmine Thai to satisfy our urges for Thai food. There are a couple of things I want to mention about my experience: 1) Not sure if the lady that waited our table(or the entire restaurant, for that matter) was the owner, but they definitely, most absolutely need a waiter/waitress. It was one person delivering food, taking orders, taking payments and refilling drinks for 10 tables. I give the lady props for being a soldier, but from a customer standpoint, it was ridiculous. Again, I’m not saying the lady provided bad service per se, I’m simply pointing out how undermanned they were. 2) Portions and taste were both subpar. I can live with the quality part, but the portion part… oh man, it still pisses me off to think about it. I ordered a 9 dollar bowl of noodle soup, and it came with literally few strings of noodles. I tried my best to retain composure when I first saw it, I thought it was a joke. My wife saw the frustration in my face and had to tell me to keep my calm. The dish’s name was«Thai Noodle Soup» and I certainly didn’t see any noodles in there, just veggies. The Pad Thai my wife ordered tasted nothing like pad thai. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t pad thai. It was a concoction of different ingredients in the shape of a dish of pad thai, but it tasted nothing close to the pad thai served in more traditional places. Considering the price, portions and the service, I don’t recommend this restaurant. You’ll drop $ 30 + on a dinner for two and leave thoroughly dissatisfied.

We came into Jasmine because we wanted to try a different Thai restaurant. The Good: The chicken egg rolls were delicious. Check out my picture. I enjoyed them very much. The Bad: I ordered the Green Curry chicken with«medium spiciness». My husband ordered the seafood delight with«hot spiciness». When our entrees came out, my husband offered to trade dishes with me because I looked so flustered with each bite. I’m no spice light-weight! When I tasted his seafood, NO spiciness! I mentioned to the server how hot my food was to indicate that perhaps she had mixed up the order. She replied, «You order less spicy next time.» What’s more, the Green Curry Chicken didn’t have as many vegetables as I would have liked. I’m accustomed to being able to really fill up on veggies at the Thai place where I usually eat. The tea was too sweet. When I say the tea is too sweet, it is. The Ugly: There were splatters on the wall next to our table. The ceiling fans sorely need cleaning. The kitchen prep area spilled into the dining area. The restaurant has seating for 42 people, but the table spacing is not adequate. I could hear almost every conversation in the place. I think the portions were a little small for what they charged. Summation: This place may be okay for a quick lunch or perfect for take-out, but skip it for dining in. I will not return.
