Hong Kong Restaurant

Some years ago I loved going to Hong Kong, the food was the best Chinese I’ve ever tasted. Since I moved away I haven’t been there in a while. I was in the area and I stopped in to order my favorite, egg foo young/​combo. I waited so long for my order I just knew it was hot and freshly prepared. Finally, I ask the woman that took my order if it was ready. She reached behind her got my order which had been sitting there, she removed the ticket and pushed it towards me without a kind word. When I did eat it my egg foo young it was room temperature and the gravy was somewhat slimy, it was not all the texture I was familiar with in the past. I didn’t finish my meal and what I did eat left me with a very bland aftertaste. The egg roll was good as usual but I was disappointed with the service and the egg foo young.
I have no intentions of returning.

This is the BEST Chinese food in Memphis! I will drive 30 minutes across town and pass several Chinese restaurants to come here to satisfy my Chinese food craving… Not a fancy restaurant, so no need to dress fancy, LOL. They give good portions, and it’s best to eat half and take the rest home (For your figure’s sake. LOL.) My favorite dishes here are the Egg Foo Young (I always get shrimp), and the Lo Mein (any kind) and Shrimp fried rice are the BOMB. I order my shrimp fried rice spicy… That’s the Korean in me. I’ve had the Beef Brocolli which is wonderful… I always get the Chinese fried chicken wings… Egg rolls are ok… Everything that I’ve tried here is very good. I get the same things because I’m the kind of person that likes what they like, but I will try other items if I’m in that new adventurous type of mood.
If you’re in the neighborhood, give it a try… you won’t be dissapointed. Graceland is right down the street for all the Elvis lovers.

An excellent «dive» Chinese restaurant. The Sesame Chicken is the best in the city. Very reasonable lunch specials (wish they came with soup— but they give you more than enough food as it is). Meals come with an egg roll. Food always comes out piping hot. Definitely give it a try if you’re in Whitehaven!
