Josh is a wonderful instructor, motivating and encouraging, and never intimidating or rude. The workouts are fun and helped me to get wedding and summer-ready. I would highly recommend his workouts to everyone. Definitely worth the investment in your own health!

I’ve been going to this boot camp for over a year and a half. The trainer is tough, creative & supportive. Best of all he gets results. Before I started his classes I had only run a few 5ks and last year I finished my first marathon. I have also moved from 5lb weights to using 35lbs! His strength training has kept me healthy & strong for races and helped me have more energy at home for my two young kids. I recommend the classes to all my friends. They change all the time and work the whole body. The trainer also helps with any modifications for any fitness level. Come be hardcore with us!

I have been going to boot camp for a year. It is basically small group personal training. I have developed endurance and muscle tone and the workouts are varied. You won’t do the same workout in the same week, month, or even six months. Josh keeps it interesting while pushing you to your utmost potential. This is a hard core workout but Josh will work with you and help you regardless of your fitness level. If you don’t want to work hard or increase your fitness level then this isn’t for you. If you want to achieve fitness and health goals in a welcoming and fun atmosphere, please come on in. Your more than welcome.

I’ve been coming to game-on for two years. Josh has helped me lose 50 lbs and go from a size 16 to a size 6. Josh’s enthusiasm and passion for what he does is extremely contagious. He pushes his«gamers» to see their potential in every workout. He is definitely a man who has found his calling in fitness. Weights are absolutely necessary for beginners — bring some 5s or 8s for the first month or so. We do lunges, curls, rows, presses, and we also run and do burpees and pushups — we do everything. There’s something for everyone to enjoy. I’m not sure why a difficult and challenging workout would be a bad thing– if you’re not being challenged, you’re not getting anywhere. I enjoy the fact that everyday his workouts have a way of challenging me — not just physically, but mentally — even two years later. As for the Christian rock — Josh’s playlist is very versatile. He has something on there that everyone can enjoy. I highly recommend for everyone, beginners and advanced. Josh knows all kinds of modifications to make sure you get the most out of your workout! He’s extremely personal! I started as a beginner who knew nothing about fitness, and josh has helped me get this far! Come try it out!!! Will it be hard? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.

Not recommended unless you’re an experienced boot-camper. Classes are one hour in a parking lot(although there is an indoor area if it rains — the building is an old church at Cooper-Young). You need a pilates mat(if only a yoga mat, the gravel-y parking lot will destroy your yoga mat and you’ll hurt your knees), and weights(although i feel like weights should not be necessary for beginners). Let me walk you through a workout: Begin 15 burpies with full push up, run half mile, foot-work exercise, 20 lunges with weight, 20 jumping lunges with weight, squats with weight, etc. — that’s in the first 15 mins. I came on a leg day, and ALL we did for an hour were lunges and squats and some other leg work… with weights. Too much for me to find enjoyable. I enjoy a more rounded work-out with different weights, kettle bells, and a mixture of muscle-toning and aerobic with the occasional pause. These high-intensity classes would be preferable as 30 min. classes. The instructor is a nice guy, and quite encouraging yet pushes you… a life-coach type. But, I’m not a fan of working out to Christian rock. :-/Those interested should know there aren’t weekend classes. M-T: 6am, 8am, and 6pm classes, and F; 6am and 8am. My recommendation — go to the KROC or pay less for a month’s worth of gym that includes boot-camp classes, offers more weight options, and has a larger variety of times for class.
