First time going to 5guys and I was not impressed. I’d just like to state that I’m a vegetarian. But I went here with some coworkers for lunch and the only thing I could order off the menu was either a veggie sandwich or a grilled cheese. So I went with the grilled cheese & when I got it it was two bottom halves of a hamburger bun with some not so melted cheese on it. Was not worth the $ 4.50 I paid for it. I also tried the Cajun fries and they good. Way too much grease for my liking tho. Just wish this place would offer a salad on their menu.

Five Guys is my favorite hamburger place. I eat at this location the most but have been to the ridgeway location also. I usually order the little hamburger with the Cajun fries. Don’t go that often due to trying to eat a more healthy diet however sometimes you just have to live life!

Seems this place is hit or miss. As we ordered our food the employee never told us they were out of lettuce. It didn’t matter to me because I had a burger. My friend in the other hand ordered a BLT. Where we got our food he had a BT. After bringing it to their attention, they offed to put mustard on it for him??? I went up and asked for the manager and informed him I was unhappy. The employee who waited on us tried to tell the manager he told us about the lettuce. Well the manager replaced the BT with whatever he wanted. I will return but will always check my food before I leave!

I give 2 stars only because the food was still good. The customer service was terrible. I don’t know if the employees have changed since some of these other reviews or what, but when we went on a Friday night(which should be a time with excellent customer service for a burger joint), we had a bad experience. There was no calling out of orders to add to the atmosphere as others have mentioned. If I hadn’t been to a Five Guys before, I wouldn’t have known there were peanuts to eat while we wait. I happened to see a guy eating some and remembered to look for them. There was no little box/basket to put them in. When we asked for one, the cashier acted like he didn’t know what we were talking about and finally gave us a brown paper bag to put some in. When we got ketchup to take home for the fries, there were no lids for the containers. Again we had to ask for them, and again we were looked at like we were crazy. The employee(a different one than before) handed us one lid. We had to ask for a second one. When we got our order, everything looked great until we got home and opened up the burgers. My boyfriend had ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Not only was there no bacon, there were also no pickles or tomatoes, which he had asked for. Maybe they gave us the wrong sandwich by accident, but it’s very frustrating when you paid extra for it and you don’t want to go all the way back to the restaurant to get it fixed. This was my boyfriend’s first experience with Five Guys. After paying $ 21.60 for two burgers and one large fries(no drinks) and the experience we had, needless to say, he won’t be back. I may go back for the fries because they are awesome. Oh, and one more thing. How this place ever got a license to operate in Memphis is beyond me. They have seating for probably 50 people(inside and outside), but maybe 6 parking spaces. We had to circle the block a few times before we figured out a place to park that either wouldn’t cost five bucks(aka Overton Square parking) or have us towed. Burger King has tons of parking next door for its languishing business, but they got wise and put up signs threatening to tow non-customers. And by the way, where are the employees parking when there are only 6 parking spaces???

This particular Five Guys is not my favorite. The staff took quite awhile to greet and take my order. They did not adhere to proper health standards nor their own procedures for cooking the burgers or the fries. The freestyle machine was out of syrup. At least the bathroom and dining area were clean.

Food is good. Fries are more than you can eat. It takes a little longer to get your food because it’s fresh. The only problem with this location is lack of parking. I ended up having to park in a lot a block away. That sucks when it’s raining.

A lot of food for a pretty decent price! The burgers are delicious! Man, those fries… They are too addictive! This is a treat and on the rare times I can have it, it’s totally worth it! The bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions… Have mercy. Just sinful!

My favorite last minute no-hassle burger fast food joint. Always get the little bacon burger with regular Cajun fries and a drink. The Cajun fries are the bomb, and they fill your whole bag with them. Great location.

I’m a pretty healthy eater who prides himself on taking his vitamins, drinking loads of H2O and getting my workout on BUT there comes a time where you have to just throw caution to the wind! * Run On Sentence Alert* I passed this place time and time again and decided to stop to see why people were standing in long lines to get these burgers and what not. It’s a simple staple — Burger, Fries, Drinks, Shakes yada yada etc. The décor is simple and RED. If you like any other color?! You out of luck but it’s ok! The burgers are cooked as you wait and the fries are dropped in that grease that really isn’t good for you but taste soooo good. Anyhow — I ordered the basic burger and fries and got a nice ice cold drink of H2O. I know I know I could have gotten a coke but a brotha gotta live healthy right!??

$ 15 for one hamburger, fries and drink seems a little high. The fries were very good & the quantity was equal to more than two large McDonalds orders. I love peanuts, so I like that they are complimentary. They have one of those *coke machines that serves over 300 different types of *cokes. *(drink machine with a wide variety of soft drinks) The burgers were as good as Wendys, but not really worth nine bucks. See my tips that show how this place can be somewhere where you would want to eat there more than once

Here is another example of doing one thing and doing it well. I speak of the food here in this particular part of the review(more on why three stars later). It is simple! Do one thing and do it well! I love places like this! The burgers here are fabulous. They are cooked to order and served up hot and fresh. All toppings are free and can be added to any burger. I do wish they would cook it medium for me though. Even though they are well done they still have a bunch of flavor and are very juicy. The fries are homemade and are very good. They list the farm that they came from that day on the wall. Be careful what size you order because they give you a ridiculous amount of them. A little is more than one person can eat, regular is for like three and a large will feed all of a small island in the Caribbean. Now, three stars come from the crappy employees that are rampant in this particular store. Terrible Terrible Terrible Almost every time I go here, I am astonished on how they employ so many absolutely awful customer service people. Most of the time they make zero eye contact and never even speak until they are spoken to. I kid you not, one time I was standing at a register on the left and the girl walked by me, never looked at me or spoke, and went to the register around the corner and just stood there looking out into the store. I was so blown away I actually laughed in her face. She was about 15 months pregnant with tattoos all over face and neck and the worst attitude ever. You can imagine the look I received when I laughed in her face and asked her if she was sure she was supposed to be here. Ridiculous! Hire better or fail!!!

The food is always good and always consistent. The convenience is unbeatable. Whenever I’m staying late and school and studying, I just put in an online order for exactly when I want to eat and then pick it up and I can be back to school in under 10 mins.

Even though its a chain, its a solid burger joint with fantastic fries! Most will probably bash this place because it’s a chain restaurant but good food is simply that… good food.

I was so excited when they came to Memphis and then even more excited that they came walking distance to my apartment. The burgers and fries have never let me down and I love the peanuts while I wait. The only thing that sucks is there is no drive thru but I’m not sure if any FIVEGUYS have a drive thru. I wish they did though. Oh and that soda machine is awesome.

Never get bigger than a Small fry. They fill the bag. Five guys does a reasonable facsimile of In N Out but will never replace my true burger love.

I claim another local burger chain(that shall remain nameless) as my favorite burger spot. I’ll have to say Five Guys did not top them, but I thoroughly enjoyed my burger [with 8 toppings], fries and drink. As a midtown resident it does my heart good to see that dilapidated/ugly title loan store replaced with this modern/hip restaurant. They made the most out of that little plot of land. The store is pretty spacious but the parking spaces are limited. The Overton Square Parking Garage going up behind the store will help ease parking woes when it’s completed. Random thought: For some reason this place reminds me of Johnny Rockets [Redux!]?!? I ‘get’ the schtick of hollaring/barking orders and«4 at the door» as 5G character, and I’m not a prude but after dining in for thirty minutes or so it can become annoying — though not enough to sway me from returning… and I was alone, so had I been with company I probably wouldn’t have noticed it as much. The burger(the«main attraction») was pretty good, but I most enjoyed the fries. A small is akin to an XXL order! Nothing beats fresh cut and fresh-fried-fries. They have potato sacks stacked in random spots around the restauratnt to seemingly remind you the potatoes are fresh(or maybe there’s no room in the back?) and they also have a sign that tells you from where they were grown. The nerd in me thought the coolest thing about the whole place was the space age coke machine and watching clueless patrons trying to operate it.

I LOVEFIVEGUYS. I live on Union, so I’m so glad that they finally opened one up and I don’t have to make the trek all the way down to Poplar for the closest Five Guys. What’s special about THIS location in particular is that they have **LITTLEFRIES**(cup size, not fry size). The smallest denomination cup size you can usually So get it if you’re like me and you can never finish your fries! And you feel bad wasting them. You can’t go wrong with Five Guys. BESTBURGERS East of In-N-Out territory. GO!

As documented elsewhere, I’m a big Five Guys fan, so I was happy to see this location going in just up the street from me. We stopped by for dinner tonight, and the food was excellent, as always, and I was impressed to see two people on cleaning duty, keeping the restaurant tidy despite the crowd. The cashier was definitely new — he somehow added an extra burger onto our order, which he refunded back immediately, but that message somehow didn’t get to the kitchen, so we ended up with an extra burger. However, the employee at the next table(who appeared to be on break), asked us twice if everything was ok and if we had enough fries. That’s an impressive level of service and initiative, especially here in Midtown! The parking situation is definitely a problem, with only about 8 spaces in the back. I’m sure many others will join us in parking next door at Burger King and walking over. Also, though there is a front door off of Union, the door in the back, from the parking lot, leads into the waiting area where food is delivered, making it a little awkward to walk all the way around to the cash register. However, growing pains aside, I think this is a great new Midtown spot!
