I gotta say, I love this bar! I always have a great time. They have karaōke on Friday and drag shows on Thursday and Saturday. No cover and friendly staff. Now I do think they could use a better ventilation system. When they are busy the place gets full of cigarette smoke. They do have a really good pizza you can order.

Went here for a drag show, which was great! The beer was super cold which makes you aces in my book. Service was good and they had a surprisingly good beer selection for a dive bar(beer only !!! bring your own liquor if you want a mixed drink) mixer prices were more than fair and a good size. No cover even with the show I will be back!!!

I love Dru’s!!! Friendly people in a pleasant environment. When I first stepped foot in Dru’s it felt like home. The beer is cold, the people friendly, and karaōke fun. They have the best and, in my opinion, the most beautiful bartenders around. I am usually there Fridays but can’t wait to try Thirsty Thursdays.

The woman taking karaōke requests kicked my coworkers and me out of here because«we don’t belong». Score one for equality apparently. As for a review, they only had PBR and Bud Light on tap, so gross.

Dru’s Place is a neighborhood gay/lesbian bar in midtown Memphis. It’s small, yet cozy. The owners and staff are super friendly. They don’t have liquor. Although you can bring your own and pay for set ups, or you can just order a beer. They have a few draft beers and plenty of bottled beers. I went with a PBR this visit. They have events every day. Here are ones I copied from their website: Monday and Tuesday– $ 14 Pizza & Pitcher(1−5pm) and Happy Hour All Day Wednesday– Happy Hour ALL Day and Karaōke(8pm) Thursday– DragTime and $ 5 Beer Bust(10pm) Friday– Early Bird(7pm-9pm) with $ 2.50 Domestics and Karaōke w/Ali(10pm-1am) Saturday– Drag Show and Beer Bust(10pm) and Karaōke(1130pm-230am) Sunday– Bottle Cap Bingo(5pm) and $ 5 Beer Bust(8pm-10pm) and Karaōke They take it seriously to keep it clean and safe in the bar. I have been for karaōke and for drag shows. They also have a pool table. They have a little food. They had rotel dip, that I wanted so bad last time I was there, but I had just eaten so I resisted. Next time…

I’ve been a few times. I played pool. I had a few beers with some friends, and even tried a bit of karaōke. I’ve always had a nice time and have been treated well. They have a jukebox from 2035! I swear! Awesome fun! The last time I went was in October of 2013. I went with a new acquaintance who got out of hand and was eventually asked to leave.(This person was asked repeatedly to take it down a notch. The staff really tried to make the best of the situation.(I was impressed… aside from a wee bit of feeling mortified.) I was not forced to go. I apologized for my guest and left still feeling welcomed. The staff was understanding and down to Earth. My kind of people.(If you were there that night, thanks for keeping it cool.) Karaōke was fun. I translated lyrics into German when I couldn’t hit the notes. People laughed and clapped. Great place! I’ll be going back with better company.

I had no idea this place even existed! What a pleasant surprise. First thing you should know is that they are a beer bar… as in, they only serve beer. But! They will let you bring in other alcohol with a small charge. I think it was $ 5? Such a great deal because I brought a whole bottle of Tito’s with me. Second, their karaōke contests are no joke! They can sing! If you are musically challenged(like me) then you can enjoy the pool tables. or witty conversation. I also really enjoyed the country music that was being played before karaōke started. They also serve some tasty looking pizzas if you get hungry. I don’t drink beer but I would definitely pop by again!

I had a great time at Dru’s Place this weekend. It was my first time there, and it did not disappoint. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. Karaōke was a blast, and there was much more talent there than may be found in your normal karaōke hangout which made it that much more enjoyable. There are also some of the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen in a bar at this place, and there are even chalkboard walls with chalk provided to write on them! Really fun and a great idea if you ask me! Do be advised that it is a beer bar(you can bring your own liquor and they only charge for mixers though!), and you can still smoke inside which did cause me some burning eyes by the end of the night. Overall, it was a great experience that I would definitely repeat!
