I have been a huge fan of this place for a long time. The food has been consistently above average or at least it was. The last couple of times things have just gone down hill with my most recent visit being a complete disaster food wise. The chips were most likely rancid as they tasted like they were cooked in chemicals not oil. A replacement basket was only slightly less discussing. My fajita quesadilla was swimming in oil and the the steak was tasteless and chewy. This is a 180 degree turn from what I was used to here. It will be a long time before I visit them again. Which is to bad since I used to love the fajita nachos too.

All I can say is… It’s as good as it gets! The food never disappoints, the service is always great, the food is always hot and they always make the changes I want on my dish. They always have a smile on their face which is hard to find in Memphis a lot of times. Prices are cheap which keeps us coming back also… I’m one happy camper when it comes to eating my Mexican!

My wife and I are huge fans of mexican food and we believe we found our new favorite place. The service is good and so is the food. Fast and reliable. Salsa is excellent.

My family and I absolutely love this location of Casa Mexicana, The service is amazing followed by the food which is also just flavorful and made just right. We come here at least once a week. Every dish I have eaten has been perfect!

Personally I love the food that’s what brings me back time and time again. Especially the white cheese dip and chips! Their prices are pretty darn cheap too. They recently changed their menu and this thing is massive it had like 5 pages and made it hard to decide. The service is lacking but, you can’t beat the food or the prices and every once in a while you get a good server.

Paul F. and I love the fajita nachos here. They often have good 2 for 1 specials. It isn’t really very busy usually. The margaritas are not the best, to be honest… but they are CHEAP when they are on special. :) I really enjoy the chips and salsa. They salsa is a thinner, smoother and mild salsa. I will often over indulge on these and end up having to take ¾ of my meal home or have Paul eat it for me. Those days we try to be strategic and order something smaller and then share the nachos… which one of us gets every time because they are yummy.

The food was OK, and my kids liked it. The employees seem really unfriendly, tho our food arrived very promptly. Overall, I’d say its ok for the relatively low price.

Food was really decent(tacos were excellent and the only reason for a second star) but service was lacking. In fact, this was the worst service I’ve had in 50 years. Am I on candid camera — I have done everything but set the place on fire — the manager just walks by and smiles — guess I need to trip him. Oh yes and the margarita tastes of mildew. We will not be coming back here any time soon. I rarely give a one or two star rating but I do call them as I see them — our experience was one star at best only the tacos bring it to the second star — I would fire the manager or better still take him out back and shoot him.

Casa is one of the better mexican places in the area. It’s not over Americanized, but not authentic, either. Not all locations serve the food the same, though, and in my opinion, this one is the best one. The pollo adobe is AMAZING. Their salsa is more of a purée, but it’s still good. Great cheese dip, the white Mexican cheese dip, as it should be.

Visiting a friend in Memphis and she had nothing but good things to say about Casa Mexicana, and when I had an itching for a margarita we decided to stop here for lunch. The service was prompt and we were brought out waters, a hot basket of chips and salsa immediately and placed our drink order straight away. We started with the cheese dip, which I assumed would be the standard mixture of orange queso with salsa. This came out white and melty in a little bowl and based on appearances alone I was skeptical. I let my lunching compadre dig in first and I followed her lead. this white, creamy, salty, cheesy mixture in a bowl was SO good. Had I sipped a few more margaritas I probably would have picked up the bowl to drink the cheese sauce but was luckily able to refrain(maybe next time). We both ordered their standard tacos from the back page of the menu, the kind of tacos on the corn tortilla with meat, onions and cilantro. I ordered one shredded chicken and one carnitas, however the waitress accidentally brought me 2 carnitas and no chicken, I figured it would be too much of a hassle for everyone to send it back and I like carnitas enough. These tacos were huge! Very happy I only ordered two, and we split sides of rice and beans. The beans were great, rice wasn’t life changing but definitely still good. Before we left we placed another taco order to-go to bring our friend lunch. With our drinks, appetizer and 3 taco orders with sides the bill was under $ 35. This place was definitely quality and I had no specific complaints but being from California I have had some really REALLY good Mexican food(made by people straight from the homeland) and this did not quite compare. Overall good place, good service and experience, until next time cheese dip!

This is was my first time at Casa Mexicana. In fact, I have never really given the place a second look. I had never considered eating at this establishment before, because I always just assumed it was another average Mexican restaurant. Don’t be fooled, it really is just another average Mexican restaurant. What drew me to Casa Mexicana was the convenience factor. The Cordova location is situated very close to Wolfchase Honda, where I take my car to get serviced. My usual routine is to drop off my car, walk to the Wolfchase area to run errands while they are working on her, and then walk back to pick her up when ready. This was my plan on this particular day. Only, I had not eaten before I dropped my car off. There are not many favorable dining restaurants in this area. They all tend be mediocre chain establishments. The only options otherwise are Casa Mexicana and Eat Well Sushi. Eat Well is yummy, but I wasn’t in the mood. Casa Mexicana was pretty empty when I walked in, but it was during the week. I took a seat, and they presented me with my chips and salsa, like you get at pretty much every a-typical Mexican dining establishment. The chips were really thin and greasy. The salsa was pretty average, with a little bit of kick and not a lot of spice. I munched on them, mainly because once I start eating tortilla chips, auto-pilot kicks in and I keep munching. I ordered a margarita while I waited too. I read on FourSquare that they have super strong margaritas. These people did not lie. Warning! I could taste some of the neon green, lime-y goodness in the glass. However, I mainly tasted tequila. To put this in perspective, all of the ice in my Margarita on the Rocks was melted in less than five minutes. I had to ask my server for a glass of ice. I used every single ice cube in a tall drinking glass to keep this thing cool while I drank it. It was strong. It was also awesome. It was not too overwhelming for me, but I definitely did not order a second one either. My food finally came, thankfully before I was able to finish the chips and salsa. I ordered an enchilada, beans, and chile relleno combo, but I got a tostada instead. This actually worked out perfectly, because I would rather have the tostada anyway. There is not much to say about the food, other than it was pretty average. Nothing had an incredible amount of flavor or impressed me, but nothing was bad either. It tasted a lot like going to any other average Mexcian restaurant in Memphis. Overall, I will probably be back to Casa Mexicana eventually sometime in the future. Not because it blew my socks off, but mainly because I will be hungry at some point when my car is being worked on. If you are stuck in the same situation as me and need some place in walk distance, Casa Mexicana is not a bad choice. Otherwise, skip it and go somewhere else.

I work close by and go all the time for lunch. The food is delicious in the americanized mexican way. The service is fast and friendly. The recognize me as a regular and if the weather is nasty they tell me to drive carefully. What more could you really ask for?

I know I have blond hair, but I think somewhere in my lineage there must be an ancestor from Mexico, because I don’t think Gringos are supposed to love Mexican food quite this much. I mean, I honestly could eat it every single day and not get tired of it. Sadly, my metabolism won’t allow for that. This particular Mexican restaurant is one of my favorites in the Cordova/Bartlett area. The food is pretty authentic, and some of their specials are really delicious. One of my favorites is the Pollo a la Mexicana. Essentially, it’s grilled chicken sautéed with onions, tomatoes and bell peppers and served with rice, refried beans and flour tortillas. And it’s garnished with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. It’s about 9 bucks and the portion is huge. They also do a really good Chile Colorado here too. And the cheese dip is super yummy!
