CC’s is a cool spot for all kinds of music. Blues, hip hop, rap, stepping music. I’ve been here twice & each time it’s PACKED. This past Saturday we went and there was a 45min wait outside in the cold. The line was literally a block long. Guess what? We waited!!! It’s byob too so that really draws people in to the place with gallons & fifths and huge groups pile into the spot together. They sell juice, cups/ice and chicken wings so you can’t bring in juice or food. It’s kinda rowdy I’ll admit that it may not be for people who hate crowds or being bumped into. You’ll see all kinds of attire too, from After 5 dresses to work out gear, it’s here!!! They allow smoking jn here so for me that’s a little aggravating. The place has several different sides to it with several djs pumping different music. Check them out if you get to Memphis!

CC’s Blue’s Club is a lot of fun! I just recently migrated here from the Midwest(Wisconsin), and was looking for some kind of adult fun in a safe environment. I went there(mostly Saturday nights) not sure of what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. There were tons of nice security officers patrolling both parking lots. The cover charge was $ 10.00 on Saturday nights but you do get to BYOB!!! You pay for your«set-up»(ice, beer, mixers), order delicious wings by the plate or pan, and kick back and enjoy the bad azz band center stage. They perform everything from blues to the up-to-date R&B hits like«Tonite(the best you ever had)» by John Legend! The band even sent a shot out to my group on the microphone saying«Wisconsin’s in the house!» !!!

If Beale Street is a little touristy these days, CC’s Blues Club in North Memphis is a like a throwback to what Beale Street used to be. It’s a relatively large juke joint with a really massive stage. A great DJ plays classic soul and blues, and then on certain nights, a first-rate band takes the stage, playing soul and blues favorites. It’s in a sort of rough neighborhood, but there are security guards to watch the parking lot, and the mostly local crowd is friendly to first-timers. Occasionally, regional and national blues and soul stars appear. If you’re visiting Memphis for the music, do not let anyone frighten you off from going here. You’ll have a good time. I did.
