I’d give this econolodge dump negative stars if I could, do not stay at this hotel, plenty of better options on the same street! Checked in for two nights while passing thru Memphis, and the attendant named Harry at the front desk was great. We didn’t spend too much time in the boring room as we spent most of our time exploring the great eats of Memphis, and Beale st. Upon checking out, the entire staff’s attitude did a complete 180! The hotel staff told us they misplaced their luggage cart, so rather than having my pregnant wife help me carry two weeks worth of luggage from the third floor room to the elevator, I simply had her hold the elevator door open for me while I managed the haul. After making it to ground level, that’s when all hell erupted out from office! Some woman who barely spoke English rushed us and began yelling at us about holding the elevator door open. She also proceeded to grab our belongings and started throwing them out of the elevator. I told her it’s ok we got it, and she proceeded to scream and argue with us. When my wife asked her for her name(Sheila) and to stop yelling at us, she screamed at us some more then ran off and slammed the door behind her. So I walked into the office and she came out the back and screamed at us some more. I asked for the manager, she said she was the manager, I asked if they are privately owned or corporate, she said private. I asked for the number to the hotel owner, she said she is the owner. That’s when another gentleman, who claimed to be the manager, with absolutely no customer service skills came out the back and asked what’s the problem. I explained the situation as the woman continued to scream over me. Rather than him offering an apology and diffusing the situation, he calls the cops on me and my wife. So we stand outside of the office for half an hour for them to never show up. I go back in and ask if they even called and he said just go I’ll tell them you left when they get here. I let him know we will not leave the scene of a «crime» and if they want us to go they need to call and cancel or we were not leaving. So he called and canceled. Never again will I do business with this hotel, and I highly recommend that you do the same.

This hotel is unsafe. DONOTSTAYHERE! We will never stay with a choice hotel ever again! My mother has spent half the day on the phone with the corporate office for choice hotels. She’s gotten nothing but a runaround. They put her on hold and hung up on her!!! I would never stay with anything affiliated with choice hotels ever again. We had no piece of mind and had to bar the door with a heavy chair in addition to the provided locks. We still didn’t sleep good that night. They only wanted to give mom choice reward points. NOTACCEPTABLE!!! Those points are no good because we’re never staying with Choice Hotels ever again

This hotel is a bait and switch. When I checked in through the bullet proof glass they told me 61, when I checked out I was given a receipt for $ 90. I asked for a receipt when they charged my card and the guy checking me in who spoke maybe 8 words of English said it wasn’t their policy to give receipts before. I then asked for some sort of rate guarantee and he said he didn’t have one… My fault, should have seen it coming. Two stars because the room was large but obviously old and out of date

The staff were courteous, if slightly difficult to communicate with due to a bit of a language barrier. The room and common area were clean and well kept. The breakfast was less than awesome, but this place was definitely a nice surprise for the price and the area. Spent four days here, after hotel hopping twice.

It’s like a swarm of locusts eating my good will. Dickensian furnishings(an orphanage would kick this couch to the curb), a breakfast that a soup kitchen would be embarrassed to serve, and an overall ambience of creeping decrepitude and darkening horizons, this is a sad desperate motel on the outskirts of town. You are looking things up on Unilocal. You are already ahead of the pack. Stay ahead, and avoid this crumbling tower of mediocrity.

I generally consider myself a frequent traveller, as I spend an average of 45 nights a year in hotels. However this stay has left me highly disappointed. The first night we checked in, the room was marginal at best with shoddy tv and linens. The next morning, they ran out of juice at breakfast and when I asked for more, they primed the machine just enough to give a horrific tinge to the water. Being an optimist, I hoped the second night would be better, but found the same quality of service. Except the second morning at breakfast, they started cleaning up promptly at 9 am, denying an opportunity to try the juice. However, they did have bruised apples that appeared about 6 weeks old. The only reason for two stars is I felt relatively safe in the location and the kids had fun at the pool.

We got a room with one bed and we really liked it. It was clean, spacious and the comfortable. The room had a fridge and microwave, a couch and loveseat and for a great price! The people at the front desk were very friendly and hospitable. When my internet stopped working, I called downstairs and the man up front came up right away to help. The internet was fixed, and we have no complaints!
