Run far away. Do not use this company. A complete rip off. AHS has breached the contract. It is a covered repair, that AHS has chose not to repair.(This is a 5 minute at most repair, the specifics aren’t important). I would caution anyone considering a home warranty through AHS to shop elsewhere, or to forego the warranty all together. When one uses simply logic and math, it is clear that home warranties benefit no one but the home warranty company. Take for example this repair. Had I not had a home warranty, I could have had this pipe repaired for less than $ 100, or done it myself in about 5 minutes, with under $ 10 in parts. However, since I had a warranty, I choose to use it. Big mistake. Not only am I out $ 100 while the problem has not been fixed, I have spent hours chasing AHS just to get them to do what they are contractually obligated to do. This is in addition to the $ 400 I paid initially. So here I am $ 500 in with zero benefit, only headaches. AHS induces consumers to purchase their service with gloom and doom scenarios of huge repairs that can be avoided by having AHS. However the reality is, after a careful review of AHS’ boilerplate form contract. Their actual coverage is very limited, and would benefit consumers in very, limited and unusual circumstances. Financially you are much better off, simply arranging to have a competent repair person come out make any repairs, and pay them out of pocket. From a convenience standpoint not having a warranty would put you light years ahead. Lastly, it worth noting the types of contractors that AHS chooses to hire. As stated, the repair in question is one that would take less than 5 minutes. The repair person admitted this, yet told me they would charge $ 340 for the repair. Why this plumber thinks he’s entitled to make over $ 10,000 and hour, is unclear. And neither he nor AHS had an answer. However, the one answer AHS does have, is that if they deny all the claims they are responsible for, AHS will make more money, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

This is the worst home warranty company ever. They do what ever they can to avoid paying for a covered repair. My fridge needed a new compressor(which is covered), but AHS tells me that it is my responsibility to slide the unit out from the wall, unscrew the back panel, tilt their unit on its side and vacuum the area around the compressor and coils Their contract reads that maintenance is required per the manufactures guide lines… the manufacturer(Whirlpool) states in the owners manual that«no maintenance is required for the compressor). Also they(told me via the phone) that removing the panels and going inside the unit would void any and all warranty’s.. I bet that the people at AHS don’t even do this to their own units. I pay over $ 600/year for their coverage and they cover NOTHING. I am wondering how many people do this type of preventive maintenance on their fridge… how many even know where the compressor and coils are located… What a bunch of crooks.
