Pianos by Jay

Delightful service approach and extremely pleasant demeanor coupled with professionalism are hard to find but Jay sure has them all. I am not a piano expert but had recently bought a Grand Piano for my son (actually two Grands). Jay came to check the first (Yamaha G3) after I already bought it and while being sensitive, polite and low key about it (didn’t want to let me feel like a complete fool) explained that I have on my hands a terrible piano. This one went back to the seller. He then came to check and repair a minor problem on our newly purchased Petrof, and as in the previous time, was professional and awesome to be around. He gave me further advice and now we are looking forward to regularly have him tune our new Grand.

I can’t say enough good things about Jay. I contacted him because I had some concerns about my studio upright piano and was moving later in the month. He responded quickly to my email and was able to come take a look at the piano and conduct repairs in our home (normally it would have required transport to a workshop but we were on a tight timeframe). He was professional and friendly, both of which I really appreciated because I was in the midst of a move and home with my infant son. He immediately understood the problem and fixed that, while also doing a general fix of the pedals (we weren’t worried about tuning since the piano was headed across country in a moving truck!). His price was very fair considering his expertise and how quickly he was able to come. I would recommend Jay highly (and wish I’d discovered him when I arrived in MA, not just before leaving)!

Jay tuned the piano at my music school (LB Music School, Medford). Very professional. I had two people come out to tune this old piano that hadn’t been tuned in a VERY long time. I could immediately tell the difference in service. Jay is super nice and his pricing is reasonable.
Would recommend using his services to anyone.

Jay is just awesome. He has serviced my very old Acrosonic piano and restored my 35 year old Rhodes suitcase to its mint condition. In addition, he’s fixed a couple of other vintage keys for me.
Plus, he’s just a great guy and visiting his shop is like a time-​traveling experience.
Jay rocks.
