Bigger & cleaner than I expected from the other reviews. Not sure I’d call it a dive, more like a north woods bar. Good mix of regulars & drop-ins. Cold pints, good service.

Not bad for a dive bar. I visit once or twice a year. Usually recognize someone from High School though, ehh. Typical cheap drinks, good bar food, really friendly staff. Kevin is awesome. Jill is the sweetest… Lots of regulars. I’ve had decent experiences over the last 8 years, can’t complain

Embodies all of the ideas that make up a successful dive: + $ 2 pints everyday! + Smells like stale cigarettes… but in a good way + Lots of regulars come here for a beer and to play their ‘scratchers’ It doesn’t get more old-timey than that, folks. A very modest food menu, containing all the dive bar staples you’d expect: burgers, chix sammies, mozza sticks, waffle fries, jalapeño poppers. The chili bowl + macaroni was filling, delicious, and just the perfect temperature. Without missing a beat, the woman behind the bar provided a bottle of Tabasco for my chili mac, as if she knew what my next question would be(do you have any hot sauce). I’m the youngest patron by a solid 30 years, but that doesn’t phase me in the slightest. Friendly people, where everyone seems to know your name… but alas, no George Wendt, Rhea Perlman, or Ted Danson here :( Protip: they have Old Style on tap! I can count on one hand the number of places that still serve Old Style, it’s that uncommon. Mad props to Possum’s for the nostalgia trip.

Cozy place, cheap drinks, fun staff(Kevin!!), mixed crowd. Don’t go in there expecting a squeaky clean environment, it is off of mannheim road after all, so it attracts all types of crowds(good people watching) Staff does their best to keep the peace though.

Drinks on point. Crowd is divey and dicey just how I like it. Don’t be scared of the food either. If Kevin is working you are guaranteed a good night.

Perhaps you’ve heard of the famous Chicago area singer Jan Terri? Well, she filmed her 1993 hit song«Baby Blues» at the Possum Pub. Any establishment that hosted Jan Terri has to be at least 20 billion stars. !

This place was a dump and in the late eighties and Nineties it had a hillbilly crowd. I was there recently and it looks like another dive bar the young folks have taken over. It has a unique layout and nice private seats away from the bar. It has bad bar food and small TV screens. I like it because it doesn’t try to be too fancy and in this stylish day of age it is nice to see a bar just rtry to be a bar. Drinks are cheap and all ages are still welcome.
