Club Harlo

Pretty much a dumpand a dive located in Melrose park. This bar has survived the test of time and feels like a throwback to another era. The place is old and musty. Not really worth a walk to if living in the neighborhood. The bartender was like no where to be seen much of the time and there was just a few people in here on a Bears Monday night. A shady place.

This is a sketchy place! Light fixures above the bar are broken and the bar tender has been serving people while talking on her phone, probly won’t come back!

I went to this place for a birthday party 2 weeks ago and it was a nice place. Bartenders were friendly and quick. The place was pretty clean the bathrooms were very clean and the drinks were good. The dance floor was pretty big, there are chairs and tables that surround the floor. Also there was a pool table. The only issue i do have with this place was the music. We were there for a bday party and had the party not been there, then there would have been made 12 people inside this place. The DJ wouldnt play what we wanted and he had his posse blocking the stairs to talk to him. He kept advertising where else he spins at and no one really cared cause he sucked anyway…

I have a hard time labeling what kind of bar this is. It’s not really a sports bar, & far too clean to be considered a dive. I guess it’s simply a pub, but then again, not. I’ve been to this place about 3 times, give or take. & I have to say, it’s really quite nice. Very clean inside, including the bathroom. They have a pretty large dance floor, though I’ve never seen it in use the times I’ve been there. I have seen the DJ preparing for action however, and have seen fliers posted throughout the place for live bands that are booked to play there. They have a very nice alcohol collection, and some female bartenders who are pretty easy on the eyes as well. They have about 4 big flat screen TVs right above the alcohol bottles so you can watch the game or whatever is on. Good for your couple drinks after work (or during, if you’re that type) or partying on Friday or Saturday night. Oh & if you’re a Sox fan like me, you’ll notice NO Cubs stuff plastered all over the place like many places in the area. Woohoo!
All in all, a nice little hangout spot, much cleaner than your average dive.
