Ichabod’s Dockside Bar & Grille

This place has the best seafood I have ever had. I don’t eat seafood very much and I do not like fishy fish. We had tuna, fried grouper bites and bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers. They were all amazingly good. For dinner one person had the special which was red snapper another had the salmon and I had the chicken wrap. I tried their fish and both were really good. I liked the wrap but, was wishing I had their food. Service was great. They do get really busy and can be hard to get a table. We had to sit at the bar which was fine. We will definitely be going to this place offten.

Best braised cod I have ever tasted. Had a long wait for the food but it was so worth it. And the pour on the drinks was very generous.

I absolutely love this place. They have the best grilled fish sandwich I have ever had. I am an expert on this subject and have eaten them in at least half of the states in the U.S. I had pompano last week and had to come back again — they didn’t have pompano today so I had mahi and it was just as good! Both times I had it with jerk seasoning which is awesome. On top of that the servers are super friendly and accommodating — today I had Jillian. I’ve been coming here when on vacation for about 5 years now and have never been disappointed. I’ve only been here for lunch. Prices (on fish sandwiches) are great and the atmosphere is nice being right on the water.

I literally come to this place every single time I am in town. The service is awesome the people always remember you and it make it feel like home. And more importantly the food is phenomenal the drinks are stiff. Nowhere else I’d rather go

I had high hopes for this place with the great location and venue. It definitely caters to an older crowd mostly retirees I believe. Our waitress had little knowledge of the beer list which is extensive but all in bottles. The food is plain and simple atrocious. We ordered leathery and chewy gator bites and mussels over pasta (daily special) which had to be sent back due to the mussels being spoilt and a complete lack of seasoning. I guess by daily special they mean about to go bad. This one I would skip for the variety of other fine establishments just over the causeway.

Nice atmosphere! Right on the marina, it isn’t the biggest place but it’s offers various seating options, all pretty much with a nice view of the water. I love the casual Florida dinning lifestyle. They make a great Bloody Mary and the grouper/​bites medallions are delicious!

Ate a late lunch here with my girlfriend. I’ve been coming here for years but it was her first time. I had a grouper sandwich with chips and she got the fish and chips (fries). I have no complaints about my sandwich although it was a bit bland, but my girlfriend complained that her fish was bland and too «fishy» tasting and the breading could have been better. We came home and her stomach hurt so that is the only reason I went down to 3 stars. The service was great, and I will continue to come back.

Stale bread been in Florida a year and a half now heard so much about it kabobs live in West Melbourne well it took my date to a couple times Friday night sat at the bar wasn’t even greeted with a smile or casual hello it was uncomfortable feeling as soon as we walked in we got our drinks and I asked for an appetizer menu finally got our drinks and no menu as a female bartender walked away we waited 15 to 20 minutes finally asked the male bartender from menu as my bed was empty in my glass was empty by 10 to circle of me like I was a boat you but did not ask if I would like another drink finally got our order and I ordered a chicken sandwich and my date got the molly fish sandwich heard so much about the sandwiches here I figured we give it a try let me tell you 45 minutes later we got our sandwiches well I took one bite of the chicken sandwich and I believe me I have all my teeth and I could not buy in the bread it was stale and hard by date looked at me she says I can’t even bite into this it was stale and hide her sandwich also could not believe it as I was waiting to have a good meal and a good date that Friday night told the female bartender and all she did was go back into the kitchen come back with more bread why the hell would I want more bread after what they said me I tell you any time up north if I meals not properly cook the bartender you they serve you with a drink apologizes or takes it off your bill without any embarrassment they did nothing for me as I paid my bill walked out never will go back

Absolutely the worst service ever. Sat outside for 10 minutes at a dirty table on a Wednesday night in a half empty restaurant. After we decided to bus our own table and get our own menus, someone decided to come out and wipe down the table. 5 more minutes and she comes out to get a drink order. Says she will be back in minute to take our order… Five minutes later, she comes back and takes our order. If it wasn’t for the great view we would have just paid for the drinks and left… This place is too expensive to have crappy service. Do yourself a favor don’t bother.

Neat bar, great drinks. I ordered lunch and was VERY clear the I could not would not eat cheese. Well I was served a cheese burger. Got rolled eyes from bartender… And told I should wait for another burger that may or may not have cheese… And eat after the rest of my party had finished eating.

Been coming here for years. Very good food and outstanding Staff. Over looks Melbourne Harbor with nice sunsets. The place is a little hard to find from the road, keep your eyes out for the sign.

Food was good (linguine w/​scallops) Service was minimal, though it was a quiet evening, and there were few customers.

Ordered entrees that were supposed to come within dinner rolls. They did not. After asking our server halfway through our meal we were told that they were still out from the other day. The other day? Is there no place in Melbourne that sells dinner rolls? Fix a problem when it arises. Over all the restaurant was not bad. It just has an identity crisis. Rustic décor, servers in tank tops and cutoff shorts and then higher end food like scallops and beurre blanc sauce. Nice view. Decent food. But with the mansion right next door why bother.

I thought that the service was good in the beginning of or dinner, but tapered off as it went, the place did get very busy and our waitress had more tables. The bacon wrapped scallops were very good. I had the grouper which was good.

This place is great for people watching. There is a mix of old timers having their nightly cocktails, cougars trying to catch an old-​timer, and a few boaters thrown in for fun. The view is beautiful. The food is pretty good. The drinks are stiff! The service is hit or miss depending on if the bartenders are getting along with each other. One night we waited for ten minutes to get a beer while the bartenders went verbally after each other. Then the owner came in and they both had to tell their side and in the meantime nobody was getting served. If you are patient, like to people watch, like decent food and bartenders that over pour you will be in heaven! My hairdresser is located across the breezeway which is the only reason I ever end up there.

I went with a friend who suggested this place. I thought it was way overpriced. I ordered Surf and Turf, which was Steak and Scallops. I think the scallops were bay scallops. I found them rubbery and mostly flavorless. Thankfully the steak was excellent and whatever sauce it was in was great too. The portion however was laughably small. I thought perhaps I was being punked. I do not think I have ever seen a smaller portion of steak served anywhere.
I also had a salad, which was very good, and some sort of seasoned potatoes which I thought were excellent. The atmosphere is nice (it is a dockside bar) and the staff were friendly and attentive. My friend claims the lunch menu is more reasonably priced. If I go again it will be for lunch not dinner.

Very Good food you can tell that the cooks put some effort into it. Nice location dockside. There lunch menu is more reasonably price than the dinner menu. There dinner portions could be a bit bigger but this is really just nitpicking.

I’ve gotta say I’ve almost given up on this restaurant. Really, the only thing going for it is the location. The service is usually nonexistent, clueless waitresses let food sit in the window while they chatter or hang out at the bar waiting for drinks that take far too long to deliver.
We took a group of six people on Sunday for lunch. Service (especially the bar) was very slow. At one point there were easily 8 – 10 plates sitting in the pass-​through. Most of the waitresses were standing at the bar waiting for drinks and there was no expediter to get the food to the tables while it was still piping hot.
My lunch bill for our two meals (a fish sandwich and a salad) and some very small drinks came to $ 72.
For some bizarre reason, the waitress failed to tell us that the petite Bloody Mary’s were $ 3.75 each, but the flute-​sized Mimosas were $ 7.25 each… of course we were all drinking Mimosas thinking a small champagne flute of wine and orange juice could never be TWICE the cost of a Bloody Mary.
To add insult to injury, one of our party waited through her entire meal to get a Bloody Mary… when it never came, she ordered a Mimosa thinking it would be quicker… it was! For double the price.
Needless to say, the entire group was annoyed long before the bill came. Afterwards, they were livid. We (6 – 12 of us) go out for Brunch every Sunday… doubt I will ever get them to try Ichabod’s again.

Fun place, good service. Pretty good food. Next time we’ll come with bigger appetites.
The crowd is local and friendly. The view of pleasure boats and a live band made it a very fun place to be.
We dropped in for appetizers. The daily specials were prime rib and rabbit. Our simpler fare came out quickly and well prepared. I had Offshore Nachos. Nothing offshore about it — cheese, chili and lettuce on chips. My wife had a caesar salad. My son had hot dog and fries. Someone’s running a smooth kitchen behind the friendly servers and quick drinks. We’ll be back for a real meal soon.

Spent a week in Melbourne and ended up eating here two times. I was actually very happy with the Chicken BLT «Ranch wrap I had the first visit. Second visit I had the Mahi Mahi dinner with mixed vegetables and fries and I liked that as well. Maybe up north here things are pricier but we found their prices to be in line with what we are used to.
Only word of caution: If you are having a mixed drink, you may want to doublecheck how they prepare it. We ordered the same drink and all three barmaids used different ingredients. Being on vacation, we didn’t make an issue out of it but if you’re picky, keep this in mind.
