Fantastic! Love this place. The Brevard Zoo has an impressive collection of animals in a well designed and organized habitat. There is a train ride for kids, you can get up close and personal with a giraffe, and they even have a decent snack shack. If you’re looking for a local alternative to such parks as animal kingdom, this is it.

Great zoo. Friendly and knowledgable staff. Lots of hands on experiences. Giraffe feeding is awesome. I’m amazed how you can feed and touch them. I look forward to being back in town next week to visit again and trying out the kayak tour.

For my 64th birthday my sister took me to the Brevard Zoo to experience the Tree Top Trek Zip Line course. I was eager to try a «bucket list» challenge. We arrived at the zoo around 1330. Parking was easy and the Tree Top Trek was well marked. We arrived at the reception kiosk and decided to try the one hour zip line course. It was 39.95 a person. Being a senior I felt that staff was concerned if I was physically up for the challenge. My sister is 7 years my junior and a triathlete. She felt confident that she could master the course. I wasn’t so sure. Upon entrance into the course you are given and fitted for a harness. Then we were given an educational in-service. We also had to demonstrate the ability to hook on to the line etc. This activity is self guided which means you are on your own. Staff is on the ground to offer verbal support, but you are alone and I was scared. Once we mastered the short instructional In-service we walked to the first challenge. The first challenge required a 55 foot climb to get to the tree stand. The ladder felt flimsy and was not easy to climb. I did master that. We then had to hook our safety line and cross over a suspension bridge which was out of Raiders of The Lost Ark. The bridge was rickety and was over a lake. After the bridge I arrived at the first Zip Line. I hooked up, sat down in the harness and pushed myself off. I felt like I was flying! It was fun. I started to panic as I approached the next tree stand. I felt that I wasn’t going to stop and would slam into the tree. Unfortunately, I stopped short of the tree stand and then had to pull myself up the line to the tree stand. I wasn’t able to do that and had to have a staff member assist me. That disqualified me from continuing. Climbing down the ladder was difficult for me because I could not see the ladder rungs. An employee met me with a jitney and took me back to the entrance. My sister was able to complete the course without help and finished in less than an hour. She did say that you end up climbing up 65 feet overall. I was not offered a refund for not completing the course. I would definitely Zip Line again, but will look for a guided tour for peace of mind.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the zoo! They had many animals, such as a jaguar, bobcat, eagle, alligators, monkeys, zebras, rhinos, and the list goes on. The zoo was very clean and logically laud out. Additionally you can take a kayak tour of the park as well as be a daredevil on their zip lines.

Had a great time(even in the rain!) at the zoo for kids, adults and even 92 year old gram. Lovely animals, lots of space and friendly staff. Wish there were some elephants and bears but the giraffes and meerkats were sooo cute, and the bird feeding area was really fun! Definitely worth the trip…(but try to get some discount coupons.)

I really enjoyed this zoo. They had some keepers with lizards as we walked in. They talked to my son and his friend about the animals and let them ask any questions. The next area we went to had a little splash pad/pool. I wish I knew they had that, we could have packed some swim trucks for them. It was a really cute area and we will pack appropriately for next time. The staff was very informative about all of the ani
