This is one of our restaurant weekend stops and typically pretty good. However last nite we got there about 8 pm after the rush and sat at the bar, which was full but mostly everyone had been served. We sat there for 10 minutes and virtually got ignored, even though we sat down directly in front of one of the bar tenders, who never looked up to greet us or even acknowledge us even after cleaning the bar in front of us from the previous customers. I finally had to flag down the other bartender, but I was quit pissed by this time. Both bartenders were middle aged females, one blonde and one dark brown with glasses. It was the blonde with a green shirt that was horrible. I never saw her crack a smile the entire time… not that she ever talked to us either. The dark haired bartender apologized and ended up being very good. I felt a little bad that I was short with her initially, but we left her a nice tip. As far as the other one goes, the middle aged blonde in the green shirt… my tip for you is find another profession where you don’t have to deal directly with people. My wife an I work 2 jobs each and look forward to a pleasant weekend we here we can relax, get a good drink and good service… Medway café fell short this time. If you go avoid the blonde… she’s terrible.

This was one of the first restaurants we found when we moved to the area so even though the food has never been great we always ended up coming back. We stopped going for a while because the service was mediocre and we found new places to go. Recently we decided to go back on a sunday at 5:30pm. To our surprise they had recently renovated. While I like the décor better it looks as though they took away some tables to make a bigger bar area. When we go there we were told the wait would be about 20 – 30 minutes. Against our better judgement we decided to wait. A few minutes into the wait we realize there is an empty table that has been sitting empty for a while. We think ok they are about to seat someone. 10 minutes, 20 minutes still nobody has been sat at a perfectly good table. During that time two additional tables have opened up and not been sat. Its now been 45 minutes, but at this point we are next on the list so we agree to wait it out. A couple then walks in and is told it will be a 35 minute wait. Ok makes sense, until a server recognizes them and tells them to hold on a minute. Server walks away comes back a minute later and says«It will be 2 secs». At this point we lost it. It is unacceptable to give preferential treatment when you have a long list of people who are waiting patiently some of which are 7 months pregnant with a 2 years old(my wife and child). When we explain to the hostess we are leaving they seem in utter shock and try to say«but your next». They then tried to blame the wait on the kitchen being backed up. This I understand, but they completely missed the point. We will never come back to this restaurant and recommend heading a few doors down to Yama Fuji. A much better experience, better food and better service.

Walking in I didn’t expect to be blown away by the food. If it weren’t for the service It would probably be worth four stars. The steak tips were pretty good, cooked as ordered. The sides were lacking, definitely out of a can. The service needs major work. The server did not know the menu at all. We asked for waters that never came. After dropping the check she went for a smoke break leaving us waiting 20 mins to pay the bill.

I recently moved to the area and quickly discovered Medway café is a solid choice. While not everything on the menu is good, they do some things really well, the food is always delicious and consistent, and the servers are nice, and service is fast. Not much more you can ask for. The wings are great and so are the salads. I wish they more craft beer on tap, but it’s not that big of a deal

Nahh save your money. They atmosphere is great and the place is clean. The service is fine. Problem is, they need A REALCOOK and not one that likes to skimp on expensive plates. The food here is just plain lousy which is too bad because it really is a nice place.

Been here several times over the past few years, happy with their large portions of very good, quality food. Also a robust beer selection, awesome décor, old photos/posters, and I enjoy the spacious lay-out. This is my type of place.

Wow! Been going here for years, haven’t been in a while and was super impressed with the changes tonight! At first we were shocked at how much the menu had shrunk. When we received our food, we were so happy! It was always tasty– but now it was really delicious and presented very well. Really nice improvement to an already great establishment. Almost like they had a restaurant makeover on the menu. Will go back very soon!

The food here is decent. I usually get a sandwich or burger. Never really impresses. Also the chicken fingers are just okay. My last take out order, I asked for no onions on my burger. They wrote no onions on my take out box and still put onions on it. Overall a waste of time and money. Go elsewhere if you can.

Used to be my go to place, loved it. The quality of the food has been falling off of late.

Service was not good at all. She stopped once and we had to get someone else’s attention to get her. The place smelled like the bathroom cakes. The tartar sauce had an odd taste, I couldn’t place what it was. Won’t come here again.

Went to Medway Café again on June 21st., ordered the Baked Sea Scallops. Wow, was very disappointed. This place used to be one of my favorites and every time I visit now, it just keeps getting worse. The sea scallop dish was very small, hardly any fries too. Cost $ 17.95. PHOTO is attached to the«Medway Café photos». The sea scallops were cut in half, maybe thirds, they looked like medallions or coins instead of full size sea scallops. Came with fries and cole slaw. Less than a handful of fries and the cole slaw? enough to fill my cavities. Come on Medway Café this is becoming a habit of the meals shrinking. I will only order burgers here now, nothing else. They even did away with Shrimpfest night, my favorite. Just is not the place it used to be.

The place was jamming on a Thursday but the hostess found me a table right away. My waitress Paula was fun and the service was wonderful. My Cobb salad was very good. The manager stopped by to make sure everything was ok. I will be back.

I used to come here all the time with my friends every week for their shrimp fest. It was great value and the shrimp was really good! Even though they probably didn’t like us too much because we took full advantage of «all you can eat» the service was always great. I’ve also tried some burgers and sandwiches off the menu and never been disappointed.

New to Medway but this place has become part of our rotation. Great food and quality service. Kids love it and constantly ask to go there for dinner. Only downsides are as somebody says on here it can get loud but that doesn’t bother my family. Also wait times can be long due to popularity but not a big deal as we usually just visit another business in mall while we wait. Try the Mac and cheese with chicken or lobster if in season. I also love the strawberry shortcake for dessert.

I love Medway Café. I used to frequent Box Seats in Woonsocket back in the day. At some point, the owner moved the restaurant to Medway and renamed it, but the ownership, décor, menu, and food remained generally the same. The portions are generous. The staff, specifically the managers, are attentive and helpful. I love the chicken parm and many of their sandwiches and burgers. They used to have live acoustic music sometimes(not sure if they do anymore) which I really enjoyed. The prices are good for what you’re getting. The only negative that stands out to me is that the turn around on tables can take a while. I don’t think they take reservations, so you have to get there and put your name in and just wait. Sometimes it can take up to 45 min or more to get a table, but I don’t mind waiting because I know of exactly what I’m getting.

I recently ate lunch at Medway Café. The menu had lots of options, and not just your typical run of the mill choices. The food was great, but was completely overshadowed by the loud patrons and their rambunctious children sitting across from me and my friend. Mind you this was at 1:00 in the afternoon, and I understand the restaurant appeals to families. At points though, they were practically shouting. Eventually my friend informed the host, who brought it to the attention of the manager. The manager then walked by the table, apparently nonplussed by the loud and rowdy group. Had he stayed a minute longer, or actuality addressed them, he wouldn’t have missed the children having a very loud burping contest(to the point that it sounded like large truck drivers after a few beers). The manager walked away instead and never acknowledged our complaint. In the end, it seemed that he was more concerned with keeping a large group of people with a bigger bill than ours satisfied. Overall, it was an annoying and disappointing experience and I will not be returning.

Hit or Miss. I’ve had some very good meals here and some awful meals. You’re in a pub so treat it like a pub. In other words don’t order steak, scallops or anything else that you might rather try at a finer dining joint. If you want a burger or chilli, maybe some pot stickers, this place is good to go. Beer selection is weak but not awful. Maybe 15 coldies to chose from. Lot of locals drinking bud light, «Not that there’s anything wrong with that!»

My fiancé and I come here all the time! Kristina is our favorite server, she is so sweet and always gives us excellent service. They have the best fried calamari! Burgers are delicious too. I can’t think of a bad thing to say about this place!

I’ve lived here for nine years and I have yet to figure out the popularity of this place. The food is expensive for the quality you get. The only item I sort of like is the southwest chicken salad. Mostly for the awesome cornbread croutons. Other than that, I mostly only go there for drinks with friends.

Not a bad place, but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the turkey tips, but they lacked taste. Service was great and experience was pleasant. Definitely worth another shot, but I won’t be getting the turkey tips.

Bartender Elizabeth power-muddles up a mean«Mojito Innocente»(with hat-tip to Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar, q.v.), as follows: 1. Tall glass of seltzer water with ice — no simple syrup or anything else to sweeten it. But flavored seltzer(e.g., lemon, lime, pomegranate, raspberry, etc.) is an option — bartender’s choice. 2. Muddled leaves/flowers/fruits/roots/seeds, e.g.: 2.1. LEAVES: peppermint, basil, sassafras, raspberry leaf, dandelion, skullcap, motherwort leaf and, in theory, maybe even a splash of wormwood if you’re feeling brave and a little«green»… although, now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure that: wormwood(= thujone) — ethyl alcohol = convulsions + death, no waiting. Hmm… so, therefore… that would be CUSTOMER’S choice for sure! 2.2. FLOWERS: hibiscus, chamomile, red clover, lemon balm, motherwort flower, rose petals 2.3FRUITS: lemon, lime, cherry(sour, black, NOTMARASCHINO!) 2.4ROOTS: ginger(Asian and/or Jamaican), burdock root, kava kava, cramp bark, licorice(maybe…not…) 2.5SEEDS: cardamom, fennel, anise(see licorice). Anyway, which muddlee(s) and how many are bartender’s choice(‘cept for the wormwood). Elizabeth also conjures up a particularly fine instance of the drink that is like a Virgin Mary(with just the right amount/balance of black(and/or white) pepper and hot sauce(e.g., Tabasco(red and/or green), Srichakra, etc., and be sure to ask about their WALLOFFLAME!)… with MOREHORSERADISH! That drink is, in fact, technically, a kind of Boilermaker, because the horseradish(either white or red — bartender’s choice) is presented«on the side», either in one of those little plastic cups that typically come with a plate of oysters and/or a Shrimp Cocktail(mmmmm, oysters… and shrimp…), or(in the variation invented by bartender Maureen at Victory Lane in Millis) in a shot glass. Which, if you know what’s good for you, will be poured(well okay, dumped), not dropped into that Ocean of Blood. Now, the name for this complex hemiola is still an area of active research, from which 3 competing proposals have recently emerged: 1. «She Who Must Not Be Named», or 2. «King H. VIII’s Kid’s Sister», or 3. «Henry’s Kid’s Sister’s Horse… Radish!» …and from which something completely different may yet also arise, as well(of course, obviously!). But Elizabeth favors(3), so that settles it as far as I’m concerned(AFAIC). And the camaraderie among my fellow friendly neighborhood brainiac polymaths, bellied up to(and shoulder-to-shoulder at) the bar(well, most nights) is what keeps me coming back for more!
