Ate lunch with a friend who vegetarian so I tried to eat healthy an ordered the dinner size $ 9.99 fajita. I couldn’t believe the amount of fresh vegetable’s delivered to my table. The sides of rice, beans, lettuce, guac and sour cream with 3 hot tortillas added to my pleasure. The servers were busy, but attentive, the tables filled with what appeared to be regulars. I enjoyed everything and can’t wait to go back and order the fajitas with chicken!

Worth a second chance! Tried this right after it opened and wasn’t thrilled, but decided to go back with some friends after we’d heard good things from other people in the area. Well, I am really glad we all decided to give the place a second chance. We could kind of tell things must really have improved just based on the number of people there. We were there on a Sat. night and it was jam packed. Even so the service was good and the wait time reasonable, especially considering the sheer volume of people their the night we went. More importantly than all that, however, was the food. There were four of us, so we tried a broad array of dishes. I was particularly impressed with the number and quality of shrimp one of us got in their steak & shrimp combo; though, honestly everything was delicious. For some reason I’ve never completely understood people in Medina seem to really like eating out. Consequently, they have a broad array of restaurants for a small town and this one is definitely a great addition to the mix. If you’ve never visited Medina, it’s worth a trip because it’s a pretty area right along the canal and very close to the lake with some neat shops. Additionally, if you have been there, but never stopped to get a bite to eat, you really should make the effort. They have some great dining spots and if you like Mexican this is place that is well worth checking out.

Best Mexican food in western new york! I love their refried beans, delishious! Their food is always fresh and authentic. Yummy home made tortilla chips are complimentary at your table. The fajitas are very good. You get a large portion and I always have left overs to bring home. If your every in town go check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Although nestled in the heart of a very small town, this Mexican restaurant is quite the find. I have enjoyed a meal here several times over the most recent years and it never ceases to impress the taste buds and fill the belly, without taking too much away from the bank account. If you are looking for solid non fast food Mexican eats, I encourage you to venture this way. Good food. Good prices. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Still looking forward to catching the live Mariachi band, which happens regularly, after which I am certain an update of my review will follow, perhaps even earning that last star from me!

I have driven by this restaurant for years, while friends always suggested that I visit it. Well, I finally did! This place is the best Mexican restaurant I have visited on the East Coast, and I have lived all over. The people were friendly, the ambiance was lovely, and the food was great! We had to wait for a table, as it was pretty busy, but the wait was well worth it. Frankly, I was surprised to see how many people were in there, considering this restaurant is located in a small town called Medina.

My family loves this restaurant! The food is always consistent and the wait staff is amazing. My favorite is the fajitas. My son orders the kids chicken and rice and they add onions for him without any problems. I love the ambiance and the new bar is so fun to see.

This is quite possibly my favorite restaurant. The service is always amazing. Food is amazing and great prices. I’ve enjoyed everything there so far, the mole sauce wasn’t my favorite but I don’t think that was something I would like no matter where I got it. The tacos and the enchiladas are our favorites. We enjoy the margaritas, disclaimer: we aren’t big drinkers and enjoy a sweeter drink so we get mango margaritas and blue margaritas instead of the house lime ones. Their chips and salsa are my favorite and on occasion we will just stop in to get some of those to go. I recommend mariachi de oro to everyone. You won’t be disappointed!

Who knew the best Mexican I’ve had since moving to Western NY would be out here in, what to me is the middle of nowhere? So, Lee and I went on another bike ride on the Erie Canal. Afterwards, we were pretty starving, and decided to check out what was near to us. I know Lee is a big fan of Mexican, particularly Tex-Mex, so when I saw this location pop up, I figured this would be a win. And it was! We were there in the late afternoon, so before any sort of dinner rush, so we mostly had the place to ourselves. The waitress was very nice and friendly, and set us down with some menus, and we ordered a beer and a Margarita. (side rant; I know, Mexican restaurants, Mexican beers. I would love to see Mexican places at least put one local micro on the menu!) I ordered carnitas, and Lee ordered an enchilada trio. I really enjoyed my carnitas, but I noticed the specials menu later on, and almost wished I’d tried some of the Oaxacan dishes they had on special. Next time! Lee really enjoyed his enchiladas, they weren’t overly goopy, and the rice and beans served with both were very nice. The whole place has a great cantina feel. It may be an hour drive, but I think for me it’s probably worth it for a return trip. I know the next time we go biking on the canal, we’ll head here!

Love this place– their Oaxaca carnitas tacos and tamales are my faves. I agree their guacamole is excellent and I like their salsa too. The only pitfall is they do have some odd hours.

I was very surprised to find out how good it was. Visiting from the San Diego area(where there is every kind of Mexican food to be had) I wasn’t sure they could pull it off, but they did. We had 3 different entrees, mine was the special carnitas burrito with green chile. Nice and spicy. Good sized menu so there are lots of different items to choose from. The salsa was ordinary, it would be nice to have 2 — one spicy and one mild, or one a little more like a salsa fresca, roasted chipotle maybe? We seemed to have 2 servers. One was really good, but the other one needed a bit more training… Fun atmosphere too. Nice addition to Medina.

Originally named Mariachi de Zorro, this establishment was sued and sued hard in the a** by Antonio Bander-ass for use of the name of his most famous character(and my name in Spanish, for that matter — maybe I should sue Bander-ass), and lost the lawsuit after a 7-year struggle(similar to any given marriage). With the rebranding, this unassuming little place is serving up some of the most delicious homemade Mexican treats you will find in the region. I’m absolutely amazed that the tiny little town of Medina has real, authentic Mexican food like this hidden away. What to get: Carnitas in Green Chili, Mexican Chorizo/Asada/Carnitas tacos w/Cilantro and Onions(not American style) What else: Everything. I don’t like it quite as much as Valle Of Mexico, but the tastes are very different(like all homemade Mexican food should be), and I think their tacos are more typical and also more tasty than those at Valle. As for the other dishes, Valle wins in general, but some of the dishes here in Medina are absolute gems. Downsides: their opening hours are pretty limited. Valle spoiled me, being open til 10 or 11 every night. Also, some of the female servers are absolutely wonderful, but it can take forever to get seated when they’re busy, and they often are since they’re the heartbeat of Medina cuisine. In a couple of instances the young owners didn’t display very good customer service, although they’re very friendly and were very nice to me in general. They wouldn’t do substitutions on the things I wanted changed(which made no sense because I was willing to pay extra to add chorizo to my meals), and I didn’t enjoy them as much accordingly. Also the first time I came in for tacos, they tried to overcharge me by selling me gringo tacos in bulk(3 per order). I explained I only wanted single tacos, Mexican style, and then they charged me much less… for much better tacos. I didn’t appreciate that, but once we got over that hump they were really nice. And price-wise he gave me a tip that *if* I come on Tuesday(is it? Or Weds, I forget), and *if* I dine in, then I can get $ 1 tacos. And these are absolutely fantastic tacos, so that deal is well worth it. If you’ve been wondering what real Mexican tacos are like, come here. Get Chorizo, Carnitas, Asada tacos, with cilantro y cebollas(onions) and see what all the fuss is about. Also try them from the Taco Truck nearby(Monte Alban) only open in the winters. My goodness Medina is truly spoiled for Mexican food! And then they have Miller’s Bulk too! Unbelievable. What a little food town. What a little secret. Amazing. The Burritos are excellent, but don’t get the gringo one that the waitresses recommend. Stick to the Mexican style ones. Free chips and salsa are excellent too. The Margaritas are as big as Antonio Bander-ass’ head although I don’t drink. But they do look pretty. As do a lot of the people drinking them. My favourite dish here was the incredible Carnitas in Green Chile sauce. It’s the only thing I’ve had here that is even better than the tacos. It’s exquisite. I could literally eat it every day, it’s that good. I’m craving it right now. The stringy tender Carnitas are melt-in-your-mouth juicy, and the green chile is absolutely phenomenal. As for it extra, extra spicy or it really won’t be. One of the best Mexican meals I’ve had anywhere in the country, and I will be back. Oh, and my girlfriend(let’s call her Antonia, to protect her identity) kept making trouble whenever she came here. Thankfully they Banned-her-ass. So now I «come» here by myself. So to speak. And when I eat the Tacos(ahem), or even moreso the Carnitas in Green Chile… I often do.

Most memorable part of the meal? The guacamole! So, so, so good. Lots of spices, onions, cilantro and chunky ripe avocado. The only negative is that so little of it comes to an order. I could have eaten at least double that between my wife and I. For my main order, I had the Oaxaca tacos. They are rumored to be the most authentic tacos near Buffalo, so I had to try them. I was honestly a little underwhelmed and personally prefer Valle of Mexico, but despite me being a little overwhelmed they were still delicious. I had chicken, steak and a chorizo taco. They were served with grilled onions on the side. They definitely could have used some guac in them so next time I’d use that side of guac for the tacos rather than the chips(which are served gratis when you walk in). The restaurant is quite nice inside. Very comfy. Service was decent, although it took our server a little too much time to pick up our check after dropping off the check. My wife had the seafood dish — with scallops, calamari, shrimp, etc. The seafood tasted very fresh so don’t be afraid of it. All in all, it’s a nice Mexican place, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way for it. Glad I checked it though!

This place has become somewhat known among WNY foodies as being only one of a couple AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurants in the WNY region. Its a long haul for city dwellers since it is situated in Orleans county pretty much exactly halfway between Buffalo and Rochester. However, people who love their Mexican food and value authenticity will be sure to make the trek. This place specializes in Oaxaca style Mexican cuisine. If you want to really experience real Mexican tacos the way they are in served in Mexico be sure to order the Tacos Oaxaca. The menu has a lot of options and everything I had was pretty good including the Tacos Oaxaca, beef enchiladas, chicken chimichanga, and Chile relleno. Their guacamole was amazingly good and as fresh as can be. They serve fresh chips and salsa before the meal and the salsa has really good flavor. Make reservations before coming during dinner time. They are pretty popular and get really busy on friday nights. The restaurant itself is medium sized inside with a small little bar area to hangout at if you want. The inside is really nicely decorated and very clean. I’m taking a star off because their margaritas are not good at all and are clearly made from mix. Other than that a good restaurant. Update: A manager reached out to me regarding their margaritas saying that you can choose the mix margarita or a margarita made from fresh fruit. He offered me a complementary margarita the next time I am here. Great customer service and good to know they make fresh margaritas! Five stars!

I still dream about the food here. Seriously! This place is tucked away in a small town, and well worth the trip. They were busy on a Friday night, no surprise there, but the service was still good. They immediately give you warm chips with surprisingly tasty, almost refreshing, salsa. Maybe I was just really hungry. I ordered the pasadita and my boyfriend got a burrito — both were very large and too delicious not to scarf down and feel satisfyingly overfull(good thing we have an elliptical in the garage). Chicken was cooked perfectly and I wish I can explain the celebration of flavors in my mouth with every bite! Even more amazing with their hot sauce. BTW it is VERY hot. I thought it was fine since the cheese in my dish neutralized it, but when my boyfriend put some on his burrito he turned adorably read. Maybe he’s just a wimp, though: P Thankfully, bf’s parents live in Medina so I will absolutely be back! Great atmosphere, too. We were very impressed.

This place is the best ! The food and drinks are great and so is the service ! I’m pretty sure the owners also have a little taco stand on 31 in Medina which I use to go to all the time before the time restaurant opened. I was obsessed with the tacos then and went every weekend, and now I go every time I am in town ! The most authentic Mexican restaurant I have been too by far !

Super nice host & friendly server! Food was decent. Definitely not the best Mexican/Tex Mex ever but not bad. I appreciated their use of fresh ingredients, including nice clean shredded white meat chicken in the enchiladas and tamale. I wish I had tried the carnitas instead of anything chicken based(enchiladas rancheras and a chicken tamale). The molé sauce was POTENT. Very chocolatey. It actually reminded me of the cuccidati cookies my Italian grandmother used to make, but not sweet. Chocolate, clove, citrus maybe? Very interesting taste. The ambiance is cute and quaint, aside from the bathroom… Oy. There was no toilet paper in the unisex bathroom with one super old toilet. Thank goodness I carry tissues in my bag. The paper towels were on a table, the dispenser broken, also on the table. It was far from an ideal bathroom but it was functional I suppose… Comparatively, I’ve had much better Mexican food in Buffalo at Don Tequila. The food here was similar to El Ranchito in Clarence. Nothing like Mexican/Tex Mex in Colorado and the Southwest though. Man, I miss that food! We stopped on the way home from a party at my cousin’s house in Webster. Took 104 to 63 to 31 and boom, there we were! More scenic than the thruway. Then continued on to Lockport, and into East Amherst. Anyway, if in Medina, hungry for Mexican food, stop here and try it. Overall A-OK.
