Porky’s Pizza Paradise

This is a rare find for the area. Great pizza, and live music on certain nights. Be sure to call ahead and order, as it can take a while for them to be ready. Overall, the wife was pleased with the pizza which makes it that much better for me.

Pizza paradise for sure! Pizza was extremely delicious and worth the wait while it is being made. I could eat the pizza bread on its own if I had to. Awesome place for those who like extra cheese in their pizza.

Fabulously funky place, it feels like you’re in someone’s house. I got my pizza to go but I loved the nice long counter to sit at while I waited. I really enjoyed the pizza, I had plain cheese. The ingredients were all really high quality.
My only complaint is that the pizza could’ve been cooked a little longer or at a little higher heat, it seemed a bit underdone. If it would’ve stayed in the oven maybe 5 more minutes, it would have been perfect.
They were busy though, so maybe they were rushing to get it out. Live music was playing when I was there, a guy playing Johnny Cash covers, then the adorable cashier got up and sang some songs too, she was terrific. This place is a hidden gem.

I love porky’s, the owner is a real down to earth guy with a passion for good food. All of the ingredients he uses are great quality, and the best part of the pizza is the wood smoked flavor. Don’t let the crap junk yard near his location scare you off, he’s not affiliated and it’s a shame his neighbors don’t try to keep things looking neat. Honestly I don’t think he has any issues getting customers because once you have a slice of his pizza you’ll be a customer for life.

Great Pizza! We always add extra cheese since my kids love cheese and there isn’t a lot on the pizza! The dough is amazing! The owners are awesome and very personable ! This is the only place we get our pizza now since we moved over on this side! If you don’t like the smell of smoke take your pizza to go it can get pretty smelly in there with the smoke.

Just tried this place for the first time. We really liked it! We had a half veggie and half Hawaiian. The sauce was light (which we like) and the dough was good. There was a lot of crust– some dipping sauce would have been perfect, but I ate all mine anyway. The smoke taste wasn’t too much, and I liked how the crust had some crunchier parts on the bottom but was nice and soft on the top. The veggie part (which was mine) was really good. Cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, black olives and I think onions. It was really good. Though it is a ways from us, we will be back. I only wish they were open for lunch!

There’s not much I can add to my friend Quijana’s review, but I’m going to throw my two cents in anyway. Bottom line, this place has fantastic pizza, I have always been completely satisfied with every bite that Porky’s served me.
We lived in Medicine Park and watched the creation of Porky’s. We figured it would be a BBQ joint, so we were intrigued when the sign was finally unveiled and proclaimed it as a pizza place. We foolishly let a month or so go by before we finally ordered a veggie pizza for delivery. When it arrived, we were very sorry we had waited so long.
We’ve gotten a few different pizzas here — cheese, all meats, «ultra’ with everything — but by far our staple is the veggie pizza, which comes with a generous helping of green bell peppers, onions, back olives, mushrooms, and spinach. I think the veggies really help to capture the smoke flavor from the fire oven. The owner uses oak or pecan wood to fire the oven, and the wood smoke definitely makes this pizza delightful.
But I think my absolute favorite aspect of Porky’s is the handmade dough. It’s just outstanding. I really can’t do it justice in words, you just have to try it.
I have had a lot of fun recommending this place to friends and coworkers over the past year. It definitely paid dividends — my boss and her family have made Porky’s into their regular Friday night family dinner, and everyone I’ve told about this place has made a point of thanking me for the recommendation.

Porky’s Pizza Paradise is everything that is right with the dreams of small business owners.
Take two good friends who share the concept of good food and a positive community, add a cozy environment and a strong dose of DIY attitude and then enhance the entire endeavor with the sounds of local musicians of all types and skill levels, and you’ve created this pizza joint.
The dough is made every day, and there is only so much, but more than enough to feed all who seek sustenance. The menu begins and ends with pizza, but there are plenty of toppings to change things around from time to time. The only size is a jumbo 16″ pie, but I can almost promise that none of it will go to waste at your house, as it reheats beautifully the next day.
And did I mention the community feel? One side of the small dining area includes two couches and a recliner. The other side features a small stage complete with instruments, lights, and amplifiers. Everyone is encouraged to pick up an instrument and play to the best of their ability. Friday nights are the «official» jam nights beginning at around 7pm, but anyone is welcome to play at any time.
Because the pizzas are made one at a time, the wait for an order can be long. There is no conveyor belt pizza oven in the kitchen. Instead there is a hand made brick oven with a fire burning bright in the bottom. The entire restaurant smells of delicious pizza smoke, and the smell will follow you home and keep you smiling. Call your order in ahead of time and give them at least 30 minutes before you walk in the door, or place your order as you arrive and simply enjoy your time in this homey space.
