Excellent service from Brett. I had been avoiding coming here for years as it never appealed from the outside and I was certain it would be «just a bar» on the inside. And I am partially right. However — when surrounded by good friends and great conversation — we had great food and service as well. Maybe the stars were properly aligned? Or maybe I am de-volving into a Delco chick? I had a BLT with Avocado with sweet potato fries and it was perfect. For $ 5.25 my «well drink» of cheap vodka, cranberry juice and a splash of seltzer was just F.I.N.E. fine. Live(loud) music — even on a Tuesday night at 10PM. I do believe I shall return. Pleasantly — even shockingly surprised.

There were about 5 customers in the restuarant. There was no one there to seat us. The food took 45 minutes to come out. The waitress was awful because she stayed in the back the whole time. There were no other waiters in the dining area except for the bar tender. It took 20 for the check to come after asking the waitress. She served no one else because they were sitting at the bar. There was no reason for her to take so long. The food was not nearly good enough for this service to be acceptable. Never coming back.

Mediocre at best. Our server did a pretty poor job. Brought the wrong beverages and never told us the specials. Kids meals are almost $ 10 and don’t even include drinks! $ 24 for prime rib and quality did not match the cost. Mixed vegetables were swimming in butter. Spinach salad and continental salad were pretty good and a decent size. To summarize, I felt we spent way too much money on the disappointing meal.

Food is not that great. Service is mediocre. They always seem to forget something. They do have good roast beef sandwiches but if you’re looking for something more you may want to look elsewhere.

If you love a nice neighborhood friendly bar and restaurant, you’re coming to the right place! They have a fabulous cocktail menu and the atmosphere is like no other! Their food menu for lunch is absolutely perfect. They have a large variety of meals from burgers to sandwiches, wraps, seafood, salads, and large entrees. The riddle ale house is family owned and operated. During the holidays its decorated beautifully and you really get that«at home» vibe from sitting at the bar with friends and neighbors. You will truly enjoy it, trust me!

We haven’t been here is a couple of years(don’t live in the immediate area) and almost didn’t go because of some of the reviews below. I’m glad we did go. The place seemed the same as it has always been and is a respectable«Ale House». We had a very good lunch(corned beef special; wedge salad; and braised short-rib sandwich). Huge chunks of blue cheese on the salad and the sandwiches were freshly and quickly prepared. Our server was friendly and attentive and we didn’t see anything out of the ordinary in the bathrooms. Great place for lunch or a casual dinner. My only complaint is that they don’t post their hours on their website.

This place is just bad. The food was awful. Just plain awful. I ordered the calamari and I wish I would have taken a picture. I’m not sure what the deep fried mess was in front of me but it did not resemble calamari. The clam chowder had more of a beef stew appearance. Service was ok but they are slammed. The bathroom was dirty and I saw ants crawling on the floor and cob webs every where. Will not go back.

This is the worst restaurant ever. We walked in its a dark dingy place. W e sat down and then ordered or meal. I got the Bacon Burger, my friend got the popular dish on the menu(it was marked because it was popular) it was a french dip sandwich. The waitress then said” Sorry we don’t sell that” my question is whys it marked most popular if you don’t sell it? So he got the roast beef sandwich. We Then waited 2 hours for our food I it came a second later we would have left. My burger was disgustimg, the bacon wasn’t even cooked it had been micro waved for 10 seconds it was raw the quality of the meat was bad. My friend got a sandwich that he didn’t even order it was just deed from a can on a plate. We were starving, I didn’t touch mine my friend got food poisening. The riddle is why is this place still in running.

Place has gone down hill what a shame. Maybe they are tired. Staff is not trained. Sell it to the mall. Rude waitress. Always out of basic food, like cole slaw and gravy for the roast beef. Was a good place 10 years ago.

Walked in and even though there was almost no one in the dinning area, we waited to be seated. Once seated the hostess argued with us on how long we waited. Waited even longer for our drink order. Ordered a simple sandwich which was over cooked and horrible. Please has really gone downhill over the years. Don’t waste your money, you’re better off heating up leftovers.

I’m not from the Media/Springfield area but we stayed at a hotel across the street from the mall and this place came up when looking for dinner options. The place has outside seating and a decently sized interior dining area and we were afraid at the amount of cars parked in the lot that we would have a hard time getting a seat on a Saturday evening but other than some outside diners, there was hardly anyone inside. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink while looking over our menus. I will say that while I had some complaints, our bartender was very nice and attentive the whole time. I decided to order a bacon bleu burger while my boyfriend ordered a turkey burger with avocado on it(or something similar). Now, we waited… and waited… and waited… Our bartender kept on checking for us but we were there almost an hour before getting our food. He apologized every single time and it obviously wasn’t his fault, but it was annoying to say the least. I was hoping that my wait wouldn’t have been in vain, but unfortunately my burger wasn’t that good. I thought it advertised bacon but there was none on the burger. Just bleu cheese. I didn’t notice until I had almost finished otherwise I would have said something. We were hungry but I didn’t finish my meal and neither did my boyfriend. I was annoyed we were not offered some type of discount on the burger or at least a free appetizer. Oh well. On the plus side, the fruit loops cocktail the bartender made was really tasty!

Ohhhh myyy, what a hot mess!!! The best thing about the meal experience was our server«kev» smiled through the entire super bad experience. There were 8 of us and no lie. .every one of us had a problem with our food! It was just awful! Lots of bad sauces to hide poorly prepared vegetables and meats. It took so much time to get bread… which was cold and though btw… we thought they harvested the damn wheat themselves! We had to consistently ask for the dirty dishes to be removed from the table and getting a glass of water meant someone had to go to the well… pump it and filter it themselves that’s how long it took. Save your money, enjoy the bar drinks and the band but leave the dinner for a more fitting location.

Riddle Ale House is down the street from me — I’d like to have a dollar for every time I’ve driven past the place. Don’t really go in there much though. Stopped in for a quick lunch a few years ago and had a decent BLT but after reading some of these reviews, I don’t think I will be eating there again. However, I would certainly go for drinks. Met a bunch of friends there last weekend(about 25) and had a great time. The service was great and the beer was even better. LOL.

I decided to eat at this establishment last night as it was convenient due to the fact that the Ruby Tuesdays at the mall was closed. I was served by a young gentleman that was training a new waitress. My experience with staff was great. However the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce was watery. It was neither the best nor the worst meal I have ever had. The crowd was predominantly 40 – 65 year olds. It was pretty busy at the time, but most people were there to drink with friends. I wasn’t impressed. I would suggest you seek out other options.

I’ve been to the bar a few times for karaōke and just Friday night relaxing. The drinks are great; they have a martini special every week(it makes me feel young!). Definitely not a dive or a cheap bar. Expect to spend a little, but it’s worth it. I ate in the restaurant portion once and my burger was huge and delicious. My only complaints would be due to the bands they host often, who always seem to be way too loud! It’s nearly impossible to think, let alone have a conversation, and the sets are very long. They have a nice patio as a refuge, but it would be nice to not have to worry about when I’ll regain my hearing. Tl;dr: check the Facebook page to see if anyone is playing and then head over for good drinks and company.

Although I’m married to a Delco guy, we rarely spend much time in this area. So it’s really strange that I’ve actually been to the Riddle Ale House twice. Yes, twice. The first time, we stopped in for a drink and some apps between a wedding ceremony and reception. We had slim pickings in the area for a place to grab a drink, so this wasn’t really the type of place we would normally stop at. But our drinks/food were good and not too expensive, so no complaints there. And they have a self-serve popcorn machine, which is fun. I am easily impressed. The second time, we stopped in for a late lunch when we were in the area. I was actually pretty impressed by the«deluxe» BLT(the deluxe meant avocado was added). It was a bit on the pricier side($ 9) for a smallish sandwich in a restaurant in the parking lot of a terrible mall. But the bacon was nice and crispy, the avo and the tomato were both perfectly ripe, and I really liked the«basil» mayo. I liked that it came with just a small handful of fries– no one needs a 1000 calorie mountain of fries. My husband had the wings and said they were good… but can you really mess up wings? Overall, this place has the unfortunate luck of being near a dying mall(sorry, Granite Run) and is in need of some updating. This isn’t a place that I would necessarily go out of my way for. But if you are in the area and need a quick bite to eat or a quick drink, I think it is definitely sufficient.

Stopped in for dinner because of a traffic jam, an accident on 352 at Rt 1 as I drove home from work. We opted for sitting outside since it was a nice 70* early evening. We both ordered the snapper soup and wow! It tasted old! I couldn’t eat it after about five or six bites. The burger was not much better! We waited about 25 minutes for it to arrive, and it was room temperature with equally lukewarm fries. Why do most restaurants now serve these French fries coated in the crispy batter? I lathe them! Their outside patio is actually pretty decent. However, they insisted on playing some sort of heavy underground dance music loudly! The crowd was average 40’s to 50’s! And, either the bass in the speaker was shot OR the music wasn’t tuned in, very annoying!!! Definitely wouldn’t waste my money here again!

It’s called the«Riddle Ale House» for a reason. After eating there, it’s no mystery as to why. The riddle is: «How is it still open for business?» I got something rather simple. Chicken fingers, twice baked potato and some potato soup. I’m pretty sure the ‘soup’ was just some warm tap water with the smallest potato pieces they could find and toss in it. The twice baked potato was garbage. Clearly it was instant potato mash. It was thick, it was heavy, and it was pureed mush. Little flavor and lots to be desired. The chicken fingers were ok. Though it became apparent to me that everything I had in front of me was just crap that got over processed and frozen at some factory that makes everything for dirt cheap, and it shows. Last time I went, my wife got a salad with bad dressing and was sick all night long. My friend talked me into going back almost a year later and this is what I got. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I’m not getting fooled by these guys again. EVER! I’m actually really mad that my friend wouldn’t let me argue the poor food and he actually paid for all of it. What a waste. Don’t go.

I didn’t come here because of the three star reviews on Unilocal.I came here because I’d driven by it a thousand times and it was time. So today I was a first-timer and now I’ll likely be a last-timer. I doubt I’ll be here again. The parking sure is easy. This place is surrounded on three sides by the mall parking lot. By the way, most area folks believe that this mall is on death’s door. It’s kind of sad. I strolled in around two thirty this afternoon and sat at the giant bar. This place is a little run down but not drastically so. The bartender was a little run down but not drastically so also. There were a few taps but nothing special. They have a TouchTunes juke box which I love because I can play songs directly from my smart phone app. I perused the menu and it was clear that their signature sandwich was roast beef. When I’m in a new place I always try to order a signature dish so I placed the order for $ 8 and change. I was given a choice of cheeses and one was cheddar-horseradish. This turned out to be a smart move. My sandwich arrived quickly but the plate was distinctly unimpressive. The sandwich was small and there was a miserly amount of fries. You know how it feels when you get the bottom of a basket of fries? You get all those little short pieces that are mostly overcooked. That’s what I got. Meh. The sandwich itself was warm and juicy but the roast beef was a little tough. The cheese was delicious and the star of the show. I can’t say the sandwich was bad but the overall meal was completely forgettable. So my meal, such as it was, was a reasonable price if it was good. Unfortunately it was forgettable. I barely remembered it long enough to write this review. The atmosphere was forgettable. The bartender was forgettable. I’m going to give them two stars and then forget to come here again.
