Whole Hog Cafe

Everything is fall apart tender and full of flavor. The corn bread is just so moist and full of actual corn. The only reason it gets 4 and not 5 stars is because they don’t have Mac and cheese. Everything else is great.

I wanted to love this place, but there were parts of my experience that were great and others that were disappointing…
The sides items were good, you can tell they’re made in house. Some of the best beans I’ve ever had. Chili was excellent. Except the corn bread, which was stale and couldn’t eat it (may have been originally made in house, but mine was clearly old).
Then the meat. I ordered the Brisket, which is kind of my «thing». I love good brisket. I had mixed feelings on this brisket, however. It did not LOOK good — it was a solid color brown throughout the slices. I’ve never seen brisket look like that. However, the taste was nice. But then again, it was a bit dry. Honestly, I think it was cooked, cut, then cooled… ultimately re-​heated to serve. That would explain why it was brown thru and dry. Good flavor was there, but the final taste was off.
The service was pleasant. And I loved the selection of sauces. Since I only visit the area once a year (to visit family), we’ll try to be back. Maybe a different day will be better.

Very good! We got the ribs and a half chicken. The full rack plate with side of coleslaw and beans. #3 sauce. Ribs come with a slight layer of sauce on them. Your sauce selection is provided as a side to add. Ribs have good flavor but are not fall off the bone. Overall, I rate them as good but not as great as the best I’ve had. The half chicken was moist and tasty. I would rate the whole thing as between famous Dave’s and Dinosaur.
If you go with the full rack plate, you will not go hungry. We spent $ 62 for four people which isn’t bad compared to what’s around here.

This is by far the best place to go for barbecue in Medford. It’s reasonable prices and amazing food keep me wanting more. The staff here are very kind and friendly. The food is great and comes out quick so this is both a good spot o sit down and eat with their homemade sauces or pick up and take out some quality bbq. I had a very good experience here, would recommend.

My two sons and I stopped in at 5:30 on a Saturday night. We were greeted warmly. Our order was quickly taken and delivered to our table. We each ordered something different. I had a half track of ribs, and my son’s has a pulled pork and pulled chicken meal. Each of us had corn bread included in our meal. The bread was delicious and filling! The beans, corn and potato salad were all tasty. The ribs and pulled pork and chicken were also enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for a convenient tasty barbeque dinner!

Barbeque was awesome! I just wish they’d get a fryer like the Cherry Hill location. I like fries with my BBQ!

Service is fast and food is filling. Ribs are small so I wouldn’t order them again but they were ok. Beef brisket is delicious and so are the pulled pork and pulled chicken. Skip McDonald’s and Burger King because this place is cheaper and the grub will fill you up. Food isn’t stellar but it’s tasty BBQ. worth a shot

AMAZING! I have been waiting for this place to open and it did not disappoint. I had the pulled pork plate with cheesy corn and coleslaw. On the table are six sauces. Try them all! I liked 2,4 and 6 the best. I like more vinegar based sauces and Whole Hog Café has some great ones. The cheesy corn was delicious, think mac n cheese meets corn. The coleslaw was great but once I tried the potato salad I was in heaven! And I can’t forget the cornbread. I have never had better!

Tonight for dinner we got take out from Whole Hog Café. I have to say everything we ate was delicious! We got the half rack of ribs, brisket, cheesy corn, potato salad and coleslaw. Can’t wait to go back. So happy to have a BBQ place in Medford!

Tried the pulled pork platter with beans and potato salad. Good selection of sauces. It was all very good.
