If you’re looking for honest mechanics, look no further than Libbey’s. Bob helped diagnose the check engine light on my beloved Subaru that’s getting up there in miles. Bob is knowledgeable, professional and very fair on price. Believe me, you can trust Libbey’s!!!

You know how you’re always paranoid that someone is going to overcharge you and try to get you to pay for things that you don’t really need? Well you don’t need to worry about that here. Libbey’s was honest about what I needed and even tried to save me money by sending me away for a few days to see if the issue came back. In the end I did need to get my O2 sensor replaced. Bob explained my options, we set up a time, and I got my car back quickly and pain-​free!

I got my starter replaced here and they were courteous, professional and quick. I am a new father and can’t afford to have my car out of commission. I would definitely come here should I have any car issues.
The place is kind of tucked in so if you are trying to find it just look for the building with the wooden ramp to the left side of Atlas liqours.

I have been a customer of Libbey’s for 22 years. Bob has a great deal of integrity and understanding!!! He would never think of over charging a customer. Bob has a big heart and goes out of his way to get a job done which given my car is never an easy task. He has never lost patience with my car as it is 21 year old car!!! I would recommend Libbey’s to anyone easily!!!

My family has been going to Libbey’s for years. I own a 2001 Honda Accord, so my car needs repairs more often as it’s getting old. Bob is very accommodating, honest, and really cares about the quality of his work and the satisfaction of his customers. Unlike when you go to a dealership for repairs, he won’t rip you off or try to sell you other services. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality work and reasonable prices.

I’ve had three jobs done by Bob– and each time I’ve been overwhelmingly pleased with his work. Just recently I brought in a car that my cousin was giving to my brother. I told my bro who lives in New York that I’d have bob check the car out before driving to ny for him. The car had a known hole in the exhaust manifold, and some other noise from the brakes having to do with the fact that it had been sitting for a while and was in need of some love. Bob called me up and told me — for safety’s sake, don’t drive it to New York– the exhaust had a hole, yes, the brakes needed some attention, yes, but the only urgent problem he explained was that the tires in the back looked so worn he worried they could potentially burst on the highway. He offered to look around for used tires to save me cash, and found a friend who could replace just the portion of the exhaust manifold that needed work – about ¼ the cost of doing the whole thing, albeit a tricky job he didn’t want to try himself. I ended up ordering tires myself to his shop and he installed the seemingly free of charge. Whole job was only like ½ of what other shops would have charged! Nuts! He changed front brakes and rotors, and cleaned up the badly rusted ones in the back instead of charging for new ones. I’ve never met a mechanic as trusting and fair as this. I highly recommend libbeys.

amazed at the good reviews here. went in for a brake job came out with a destroyed power steering system. charged me $ 150 to ruin my car to boot. gotta give him one thing though. he smiled a lot. Beware when the bear smiles.

I have a horrible track record with mechanics. I used Unilocal to help me find one with good reviews. I went Libbey’s Auto because my steering wheel was shaking and I heard a strange noise. I called Bob to set up a time to drop by. He was very flexible and sounded nice on the phone.
When I went to drop off my car, Bob rode around with me to try and hear the noise. Of course, this was when the noise stopped. He offered to keep the car a few days and check it out. Bob called me two days later and informed me that one of my tires was warped. He moved the back tires to front to lessen the shaking until I was able to get a new tire. Bob didn’t even charge me for this service.
I brought my car back a few months later when the noise increased. I dropped it off on a Monday night and Tuesday afternoon he called me to tell me had fixed the problem. The prices were fair and he completed the work quickly. The shop is tiny, but the mechanics are great! I definitely recommend this auto shop.

I’ve been going to Bobby and Donny for years. They are the best. Had a groupon for an oil chanage at Muzi ford right near my office. They told me I needed a $ 191 repair. Called Libbeys. They fixed it for $ 100. I will NEVER go anywhere else.

I have a 2005 Jetta Volkswagon and for better or worse, the lady has been with me for over 90,000 miles. That’s a lot of zeros. I needed a brake change in a bad way and I called Columbia Volkswagon like I do to get a quote. I had a coupon and I was ready to wheel’n’deal.
$ 475, they said. $ 375 with my
Oh good. I can fly back to Vancouver for that! I started toodling around on Unilocal and saw the Libbey’s had 5 stars across the board from everyone! ++++ in my book!
I called and over the phone, Bob told me I was looking about $ 275 worth of work on my Jetta.
What the hell was Columbia Volkswagon gonna do with that extra $ 200? Donuts and coffee for a team of ten bros is like, $ 60? If you’re gonna swindle me, make sure I can’t find a better deal LITERALLY 15 feet away.
Bob Libbey took care of my little car and even took the time to show me what horrible shape my brakes were in due to the climate here in Mass. If I lived in Arizona, my brakes would look different: D My ending price was $ 275 for a whole day of working on and storing my car.
Thank you so so so much for taking care of both me and my car, Bob. I will return!

I had new cars for the last 8 – 10 years and didn’t have a reliable mechanic, because my cars were under warranty and was lost until my friend referred me to bob a few years back. This review is long overdue but since I just reviewed an out of town mechanic i figured it was the least I could do. I have bought my Large suv in here at least a dozen times over the last 4 yrs and Bob has never disappointed me with fair pricing and honest billing. The best thing is if he doesn’t do something like air conditioning he will tell you or refer you where to go. You can trust this man.

This place is awesome. Little tough to find the first time, tucked behind a defunct breakfast place, couple doors down from Atlas liquors.
Brought my 05 Subaru Outback in with a rough idle and stalling issues. There were two diagnostic codes popping up. Bob (Libbey) took a swing at the lesser of the two codes; disassembled the throttle assembly, cleaned it up and the issue was cleared up.
Went in a couple days later with a loud metallic rattle (heat shield had corroded away on two of the brackets). Bob tossed it on an open lift and fixed the issue at no charge. When I mentioned the car is on a recall due to potential corrosion of the brake lines, Bob gave the pads, drums and lines a good look to ensure they were in good shape. He was concerned the dealership would try and tell me they needed replacing at the time of the recall correction.
Great guys, very friendly, incredibly reasonable rates. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Honest — Honest — Honest… Bob and Donnie are the best. I will never go anywhere else. They are quick but oh yeah have I mentioned honest. Bob fully explained everything and the hours are excellent if you work days. Bob could have done more work and tried to do the best by me price wise. If you live in the area I highly recommend this shop.

I found Libbey’s on Unilocal in 2011 when I first moved to the area from Indiana. 1,000 miles away from my dad and brothers, I was lost when I first experienced car problems. I went to Libbey’s based on the reviews here and the service and value were exactly what I expected based on those reviews: excellent.
Unfortunately I switched to a different mechanic a year later, one that is literally next door to my work, but I knew I was overpaying. I just went back to Libbey’s for the first time since and I will not stray again! I paid a few hundred bucks for what my other guys had quoted me over $ 1,000 for. Plus, Bob and Donnie are friendly, laid back and professional.
Like another reviewer mentions, the shop is a tiny hole in the wall, definitely not the kind of place you’d pull into from the road without knowledge, but don’t judge this book by its cover. This is the best place around.

I almost dont want to tell everyone about Libbey’s. I want to keep them all to myself and close friends only, but Bob and Donnie really deserve the best review possible because they are the most honest, down to earth mechanics you will ever find. Everything people have already said here is true. They fix only what needs to be fixed, they will give you the best possible prices and options and they aren’t out to rape you on parts and labor. You can feel good about bringing your car to them. I have never had that sinking remorseful feeling of, «did that mechanic just over charge or rip me off ?» I use to get other places. A+++++++

Libbey’s is the best shop I’ve found. Bobby quotes low and delivers low, but performs high.
The shop’s tucked in behind a bunch of other crappy looking buildings, so it’s a bit hard to find, but is worth it — I’d recommend it to anyone who asked without any reservation.

Bob Libbey is the best! As others have said, don’t put be put off by the tiny sign and behind-​the-​building location. His shop is spotless and he definitely takes great care of the cars while they are in his shop.
I had one ball joint replaced after dreading the repair for months because I thought the bill would be $ 300-​$ 500 and, as a part time teacher, I just don’t have that money right now. He was incredibly polite, honest, and most of all, super friendly! My bill was much less than $ 200, my car was ready the same day, and unlike other garages that only repair half your problem (or a different problem) so you’ll come back, he did exactly what he said! He also checked it over for other issues (the engine runs very loud) and tweaked a few things to help it out. I would overwhelmingly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest repair at a FANTASTIC price! As I was writing my check I kept wondering if I could tack on a tip I was so appreciative… I’ve never had that feeling after paying for an auto repair!

Don’t let the slightly sketchy appearance fool you, this is a great shop. When I was a student at Tufts, my alternator belt started squealing something awful. I took it to Libbey’s partly because it was close to my house and mostly because there were great reviews on Google, Unilocal,etc.
Bob fixed my car on two different occasions (alternator belt and exhaust) and even came in under estimate on the second time. He happily called my dad to get approval for the repairs and bonded with him over having daughters in college far away from home.
My boyfriend brought his truck to Bob as well, and he worked really hard to find parts from a junkyard rather than have to order them full-​price from Toyota.
They are absolutely honest, friendly, and fair. Bonus points for cracking jokes about me bringing my car all the way from Vermont to be fixed by him (VT plates on the car).

I have been taking my truck here for years and have always received top notch service. Bob Libbey is great at diagnosing problems and doing a fantastic job. He is always looking out for his customers and his prices are very very reasonable. I also like how he is available via phone to answer any auto questions that may come up at any point. Very knowledgeable and honest.

I had a buddy recommend this place to me when I needed to have my brakes corrected when my car didn’t pass inspection last year. Basically during the inspection they said the ball bearings on my brakes were worn. Clearly I wasn’t pleased (such an objective thing, right?) but knew that I had to get it fixed or else…
I brought my car to this place the next morning and within 1 hour of dropping it off received a call saying that the person who inspected it must’ve been a tool because the bearings only showed normal wear.
Regardless, he did a quick once-​over of the car, recommended a couple other things that he noticed and made sense and had all the work completed the same day — amazing!
It was reasonably priced and not only did he fix what needed to be fixed, he avoided me the hassle of having to get the car reinspected and got it done for me. Awesome!
Honest guy, fully explained everything so that I would understand and I didn’t get the feeling he overcharged for the work. The place is a little dirty and a little sketchy looking but totally worth going to.
