My wife and I rented an apartment from these people for 2 years with a section 8 voucher and everything was fine. We then became financially able to come off of section 8. After the voucher was gone and High St did not have to have the apartment up to par for the housing inspection it went downhill FAST. We lived in Chelsea, Ma. and had a mice problem, which can be the case when living in the city. While we had the section 8 the mice problem was kept to a minimum as they brought in professional exterminators when needed. After the voucher stopped they would send in the maintenance workers who, while being very nice people, were not exterminators. They proceeded to lay down traps that anyone can buy at CVS. The infestation became so bad I had mice jumping on the coffee table in front of me. Might I add that we are very, very clean people and the apartment was immaculate. Except for the droppings under the furniture and refrigerator.
if you rent from these people, beware! They are liars who are only in it for the buck. High St. Property Mgnt. is actually a real estate co. that buys properties, inhabits them with section 8 holders until the building is ready to sell. Then they will stop taking care of anything and sell the building for their profit. Do NOT rent from them unless desperate. I mean Really desperate!

I’ve rented an apartment in Cambridge from these guys for the past 9 months, and I’m sorely disappointed with them. The apartment has both cockroaches and mice, and no matter how many times I call, they refuse to hire a professional exterminator. Their maintenance people are not experts, and the problem isn’t going away, but they’ve just ignored my repeated requests. On top of that, their payment policy is totally inflexible (no PayPal). Oh, and they’re raising the rent next year.
Be careful with this management company.
