Delicious! You must call an hour ahead if you want a hot and ready pie OR you can stop by and pick up a frozen pie to bake at home! I called to order ahead and the girl on the phone was very knowledgable and friendly. A little pricy but it is well worth it! The chicken is juicy and the crust is perfect and flaky! You will not regret shopping here!

I picked up 2 individual pot pies w/veggies and a small pack of rolls for my husband and I. They were fresh pies that came w/baking instructions. The pies were very good and the rolls were perfect for mopping up the gravy!!! Next time we are getting the chicken only pies! Can’t waityummmm

Harrows chicken pies are one of my favorite comfort foods, especially in this cold weather. The apartment sized pie with veggies feeds me and my husband for dinner, lunch the next day, and there might even be a bit left over after that. They’re completely foolproof and easy and cozy and delicious.

Was excited to bring home dinner for us(2) Monday night. Ordered the Apartment size, Mashed, extra gravy and biscuits. Was told one hour if I wanted it all HOT. Got there one hour later and she handed me the pie and said $ 12.95. I explained my order and she gave me mashed, gravy both COLD and said ran out of biscuits. Staff was very nice. When we dug into the HOT pie at home we both looked at each other. I was so SURPRISED how bland it was. I hope the owner(s) read this because something’s wrong. Seriously I am not picking and this pie sucked. Was eatable after adding some spices. But even the taste of flour penetrated the spices. Ended up trashing it. And we got the one with vegies. Mashed stunk, rolls were awesome!

We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the chicken pot pie with vegetables(potato and carrots), apartment size 2 – 3 servings, for $ 13.25. This is a simple pot pie loaded with white chicken, no crust on the bottom, with ample vegetables. Also available were blueberry and apple pies, 10 inch for $ 11.50. I have made many pies, including chicken pot pie, apple and blueberry from scratch., and I think Harrows offers a fair value. We will definitely buy again when we are in the area.

Everyone says Harrows is the best of the best for Chicken Pot Pie, so finally, after years of hearing this AND getting a good a discount; I decided to try them out. Don’t know what I expected because, it is just a chicken pot pie for goodness sake. I purchased a freshly made, refrigerated pie that I baked the next day. Yes, the crust is flaky and buttery. Yes, gravy is homemade and rich. You can definitely taste the difference. But all I have to compare it to is the frozen Banquet chicken pot pies I used to get from the market as a kid. Potatoes, carrots but no peas… bummer…had to add my own. Overall, it’s good. Nothing to advertise on the Goodyear blimp or shout from my rooftop. Will not be buying a tshirt or anything but when I’m lazy and need something quick and Tasty that I can feed the family… I’ll think of Harrows

If they have been doing this for 75 years and are still going strong, well, that means… that the general public really needs to reassess what constitutes a good chicken pie! Huge hunks of chicken, scant veg, gelatinous binder, no bottom crust. Ugh. I guess if I were sitting in ankle deep freezing water in a trench in Belgium in World War 1 and someone gave me a steaming hot Harrows pie I would eat it and maybe even squeeze out a thin smile. But I’m not, so I won’t and I can’t!

I thought the pie was great, we got chicken with vegetables for 4 people and it was delicious and moist. I called on the phone and asked for a specific time to pick it up and it was hot and ready to go. Good, filling meal over all.

I shouldn’t have gone back with last pie so awful. Crust floury, tough, nasty. Gravy white & raw floury taste, bland yucky ick. Tossed it out. Only Medford location is bad. They should get recipe & technique from other Harrows. I won’t be back. They were good when they opened but horrible now. Pie crust so floury and tough and filling bland. Yuck.

Located somewhere over, under, around Boston. This small grab and go chicken pie place is nothing less than delicious. It was one of those«you’ve got to try at least once in your life» kind of places, but I am sure to go back again. They have some pre-baked chicken pot pies, but plenty of frozen ones to take home to share with the family. There’s no where to sit, though so we grabbed a seat at Dunkin Donuts, which is a few stores down. When we walked in, were greeted very politely. I was very surprised there was no seats; I was even more surprised when I saw the number of sizes there were. We got one that was enough for 2 serving, but really it was enough for 3. Chicken Pies(White Meat with Carrots & Potatoes) The Chicken Pies were immensely fulfilling. The white meat chicken was so tender(used real white meat chicken). The potatoes and carrots were drenched in the sauce and the crust was super fluffy, doughy, and crispy all at the same time, which made it perfect for absorbing and drenching the sauce. I would recommend Harrow’s and one of the few great places for chicken pot pie($ 8). The price is fairly reasonable, and since they have frozen one you can take it home to have it later, for a party, or a late night snack. I’m thinking about sending them as gifts, that’s how delicious I think it is. There were other things too, but I didn’t try anything else but the pies. I’ll be sure to come back for more pies!

I really like their pot pies. They are convenient and the food is good — where are these other raters getting the best pot pies in the world? I don’t know of other places that sell them…

Harrows is a very clear example of why American cuisine gets a bad rap. Let’s start wih the negatives: 1) the crust is only on the top part of the pie, 2) the chicken and gravy are bland, and 3) there just aren’t enough veggies, where are the peas?, in there! I’ve gotten the jumbo 6 servings size twice and call ahead to have them heat it up for me. Now on with the positives: 1) the amount of white meat chicken is very generous and makes up for it being pricey, and 2) the rolls, purchased separately, are very fresh and tasty and go well with the chicken gravy. For someone like me, who really enjoys the veggies and seasoned gravy of a traditionall chicken pot pie — Harrow’s does not hit the spot unfortunately. I don’t know if I would go back again and would rather buy frozen ones to heat up myself. Sieeing that I’m not a big fan of processed food, I guess this tells you how bland Harrows is…

It’s a decent dinner option to feed many without spending too much. I found the pies to be good, although needing more salt and pepper. The squash side has a nice texture and it fairly flavorful. The cranberry could be much better. The apple pie here tastes fresh, but just isn’t sweet enough to be a great one. I will eat it if I come across it again, but I will not make a special trip out of the way for it.

Eh, I’ve tried the carrot and potato chicken pie a few times b/c i was in the mood, but both times it’s just been ok, not bad, just bland and that was after adding salt and pepper. Some people just love this place but I don’t think I’ll be giving it another chance. It’s a shame, it’s less than a mile from my house. Now for a personal sized chicken pot pie, John Harvard’s is awesome…

I struggled with the number of stars. I’d rather it be 2.5 but oh well… The pie(no veggies) is OK. Sometimes it’s lacking salt. Sometimes the gravy is too thin and watery. Sometimes the chicken is much too big, sometimes the chicken is lacking in the pie completely. I guess I am saying it’s somewhat inconsistent. The 2 person pie is enough for 3 when the gravy is thick and it has the right amount of chicken. We have, on 2 occasions, ordered 2 pies, no veggies only to get them home and find they had veggies. Not a total killer but the veggies are bland and detract from the pie. The servers can be apathetic, ignorant and sometimes plain rude. The cran sauce is good but pricey. I’ll stick to ocean spray. I wish they’d offer stuffing but that would probably be really expensive based on the other side dish prices. I try to wait until I get my 2.00 off coupon before we go. It’s OK but not what Phantom makes it out to be.

Harrows Chicken Pies have taught me two things: 1) Vegetables have no place in a pie. 2) Serving sizes are subjective. The microshop houses two employees, fire and ice, a lot of white and a whole lotta pies. The take-and-bake behemoths come frozen or fresh, and are comprised of tender chicken, crazy-thick, well seasoned gravy and pie crust. You can opt to include carrots + potatoes, but then I’d be forced to remind you of the first thing I learned. A fresh, «two-serving» pie runs $ 13, comes in a disposable rectangular foil and cooks up in that filthy oven of yours in about an hour. Whatever, right? Baking for an hour is easy. Hell, my grandma cooks up in about an hour. But the big surprise that won’t be a surprise once you feel the weight of the pie, is how it’s actually good for 3 – 4 meals. Sure, you can buy a Banquet for a buck, but you’ll get what you pay for. Harrows is the real deal, and for staking their reputation on one thing, they’re all Petsi and no Sara Lee.

I went to the location in Reading! I live in the south shore! I was pretty mad that I skipped right over the Medford location because the Jumbo Chicken Pot Pie was just ok… I like veggies and I was expecting peas, onions, and celery! All i got was carrots and potatoes! like huh? Don’t get me wrong it was goood but not as good as Phantom Makes it to be(Yes i’m agreeing as well)… The gravy taste great, the crust is slamming and they have huge chunks of chicken! However, I kind of like the Willow Tree Frozen pot pie better… I also bought an apple pie! It looked awesome and tasted sooo bad… My friend and I discovered it tasted wayyyyyyy better with out the apples! They apples were so tart and nothing was sweet about it! If I could get my money back for the pie… i so would! I miss my 8 dollars. lol
