This place is amazing! Every time I come to Medford I love to go here for breakfast. They are small but I love that they use local products and they are quick and very nice all around!

I usually don’t even like biscuits. Normally, a biscuit is so dry it requires a lot of gravy, in which case, they’re hard to totally mess up. This place has the best biscuits I’ve ever had. Then, they take their biscuits, and create what is probably the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. All as locally and naturally as possible. Oh, and they have great coffee. My only complaint is that they don’t have a location closer to my town. Oh well, it’s a nice treat when ever I’m in Medford.

This place to me is 4.5. They have a lot of biscuit options and the food is good. The staff is friendly. There isn’t much parking and it’s a small location, but they have an outside patio to sit at with a dog bowl. The atmosphere is calm and nice. The wait is a long wait so go somewhere else if your in a hurry. Definitely worth a try. I loved the French biscuit plate. The eggs were good, the bacon was normal, but the French toast biscuits are exceptional.

Yum! The biscuits lived up to the restaurants name. They were buttery, pillowy clouds of delicious dough baked to perfection. My favorite was just the biscuit with butter on it. We had a cup of soup that was pretty good, but the star was the biscuit. And if they have the veggie hash it’s a must try!

I’m from LA and there is nothing like this place back home. The food is 100% made in house including their homemade biscuits! I love biscuits and gravy and this place exceeded my expectations. I got a side of bacon and French roast coffee and a lemon cake slice to go! It’s a must and Phil was a big help and very attentive.

The reason that I ended up at this local GEM was a simple Unilocal search on a pit stop while driving on I-5 north(and no I don’t think it is close to that freeway), anyway when I entered Oregon from the Shasta, I noticed a totally different atmosphere and vibe which was great and totally worth the drive off the freeway to explore. Coming to this café, the seats are limited and it was packed with waiting people in line to get their souls dipped in the gravy alongside with an amazing home baked flaky jumbo biscuit. So it is small, but very friendly and cozy in it’s set up. I actually felt a sense of community…”. Coming to the food; many of their goodies are fresh made in house. I personally skipped the gravy and choose a more ”healthier” option to get goats cheese and eggplant on my biscuit. MANTHATWASSOOYUMMY. This is a jewel one of a kind in the U.S. With it’s friendly workers, friendly guests and atmosphere — I could have given this place a 10 starts if I could.

Yum yum yum. Great GF options as well. Nice atmosphere. It’s a little expensive for automatic tip and bus yourself, but food is consistently delicious.

The food was mediocre and the wait was ridiculously long for a place with so few tables. Based on the overwhelming number of positive reviews I expected so much more but was served tiny hockey puck sized biscuits lacking in flavor and smothered in gravy so overwhelmingly peppered that it still lingers in my mouth after several glasses of water. Save yourself the inevitable 20 – 30 minute wait for food that is not worth the time.

I repent of my city boy snobbery and low expectations for breakfast in Medford. I didn’t expect to find good food in Medford because, well, it’s Medford. My bad. Buttercloud changed my mind. First, I kept saying the name wrong, like butterclaw, or butter bun or something like that. And it’s a pretty good name, if a little contradictory, like lard balloon or olio pillow. Buttercloud sounds much better. Let’s start with the coffee, fresh brewed just for you. We had a French press delivered to us ready to drink. No carafes of pre-made coffee here. Want a decaf? That will take 4 minutes to brew, but it will taste really good — for decaf. But Buttercloud is about breakfast, the butter and the baking and the biscuits. Soft and moist inside, the biscuits also have a little bit of crispy brown on the outside. Paired with a spicy black pepper gravy, it’s a breakfast staple elevated. My wife had a French toast biscuit, something I’ve never seen before. Mr. Biscuit is treated to a soak in an egg bath and fried, split and topped with raspberry jam and goat cheese. The jam tastes of fruit, not sugar. Interesting and tasty combination. The black pepper gravy tasted a bit like flour, as if the flour hadn’t been fully cooked before making the gravy. Black pepper masks it, but the flavor and texture is still there. Also, there is no table service, so order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. Very good overall. In the pantheon of OR biscuit makers, I still favor Pine State, but Buttercloud is making a fine version, with a nice menu, down south.

Wow! Kinda says it all but not a full review as Unilocal would want. The staff is the greatest and you just cant beat the service and the smiles… should charge extra just for that alone. The prices for the food is on point and the quality and quantity is great. The menu selections is eclectic and you can mix it up some as well… add BACON! I think each disk is a work of art and you can taste the yum in every bite. With Rogue Creamery cheese on some of the selections… that’s a bonus and another level of quality that’s goes beyond. My FAVs… anything biscuit! Rogue Scramble with BACON, Beef & Blue, oh the gravy on biscuits… mmmm mmmm sorry grandma. Smoky Mac n Cheese… speechless. The list goes on but you must come and try and make your own list. This is a must eat place when you are visiting, family visiting or just want great home cooking. Luv Ya

My wife and I stopped here on our road trip. It was a place she found and I thought it was a little out of the way but I’m very glad she wanted to go here. Awesome place with great service and really good food. I had the biscuit French toast with maple syrup and the Mrs had the biscuit French toast with strawberry and goat cheese. We both also had Mayan Mochas which were good but spicy. The biscuits are so good! Made us want to move to Medford!

This little spot is amazing! Super cozy atmosphere, really friendly… The food was out of this world. I ordered the brisket and bleu… Switched out the cheese for the Rosemary cheese and added a fried egg. Can’t even recommend that enough! So good! Worth the wait! Will be back! PS — Phil is awesome!!!

The food was great! My only complaint(and it’s a mild one) is that the fruit cup only had bananas and apples… grapes or some other fruit in addition to the two would have been great.

Overall: Great spot for some good biscuits, sweet treats, and comfort food breakfasts. Just be prepared to wait a minute. The good: The biscuits are legit, get them in one way or another. We got sandwiches and a 7LAYER red velvet to go. The sandwiches were amazing, can’t attest for the cake. The counter service was friendly and fast. The bad: We got our orders to go and we stood there for over 20 minutes. A little pricey but not too bad. Atmosphere: 8⁄10 Service: 8⁄10 Food: 9⁄10

Unique little café with a pretty sophisticated brunch type menu. Bakery selection small but mighty! Parking was limited so I parked on the street.

I have been here twice now; once in the summer and once today. The first time I got an egg cheese sandwich on a biscuit but I honestly do not remember it. Knowing myself, this means it was good but not great. Nor could it have been bad. What I do remember vividly was the bag of «brownie ends» I bought because they were so crispy and delicious. I let everyone at my table try a piece and everyone was in agreement about these babies. What a great idea. Unfortunately, they do not seem to offer this regularly. Today I stopped in and got an americano and a piece of espresso chocolate cake. I actually didn’t finish either one, which is not a very good sign considering my deep love of pastries and coffee. The cake had a weird too wet consistency– not fluffy. The frosting was probably the best part. My boyfriend thought it kind of tasted like weed. He ordered the bacon cheddar scone and said it was outstanding. I left wishing I had gotten one of those. :/ Honestly this place deserves probably 4 stars for the savory foods but the coffee and meh cake ruins it. Too much competition and I can’t be giving everyone 4s or it won’t mean anything anymore. A 4 from me means I go often. I wouldn’t come here more than twice a year, and it will only be for the egg sandwiches.

Buttercloud is a small family-owned bakery/café, which happens to specialize in biscuit-sandwiches and accompanying side dishes. Things I’ve tried: Biscuits: Chicken & Chile(favorite) The Farmhouse(delicious!) Side Dishes: Veggie Hash(tasty) Braised Collard Greens(well-seasoned with great southern flavor) Dessert: Pumpkin Cupcake(it was good, but nothing to write home about) pumpkin pie(decent) Their local jams and jellies are also decadent! This is a great place to try whether you’re in the mood for sweet or savory. It’s great for both, breakfast and lunch.

We stopped here on our way from Portland to California for a quick meal. This bakery is pretty unique. Their sandwiches are made on a biscuit bun. Very fresh and tasty. I hand one with blue cheese and chicken and it was very good. Their hot chocolate is delicious also. For kids they place marshmallows on top, my kids loved it. Brownie is must to try here! Very buttery and super chocolate! Even if it’s cold don’t be afraid to seat outside. You get a warm blanket!

great homemade buttermilk biscuit sandwiches! We ordered: *The Farmhouse — nothing beats a runny fried egg with crunchy bacon strips piled high on a buttermilk biscuit for breakfast, and this place was spot on! *Rouge Scramble — scrambled eggs with crunchy bacon strips and rosemary cheese on a buttermilk biscuit. It was delicious. It’s a very cute and cozy restaurant somewhat tucked in a quiet neighborhood with limited parking space and seating. Overall: great quality homemade food/friendly staff
