For most of us on the Rogue Valley. 2-Hawk was always considered a nice place, but the service was poor and wine was not good. I’m happy to say that they finally have a great winemaker in Kiley Evans. I have enjoyed his wines for years now and 2Hawk should now be a place to revisit. Try the red-tail blend or 2012 Tempranillo. With Kiley handling the wine. 2 Hawk is now headed in the right direction

This is a MUSTVISIT if you are passing through the Rogue Valley. It seems like the entire wine tasting room building is made of reclaimed and local materials — old hickory and fir timbers, wine bottle chandeliers, river rock walls, grapevine trim, wine barrel tables and chairs. you get the idea. Very hip and VERYVINTAGE. They actually had me the minute I saw the old iconic bicycle next to an old salvaged Penzoil barrel by the reclaimed entrance door :)(I’m an avid cyclist.) The lighting, AMBIENCE, an overall feel of the spacious tasting room is absolutely wonderful. Anyway — that’s just the tasting room building. The wines and food are top notch. We had a couple of «flights» of wine. I ended up buying a bottle of Viognier — which is one of their pride and joys. I don’t drink a lot of Viognes but this one may convert me. I also bought a Merlot which was superb. For food we ordered their little wild mushroom and pepperoni pizzas. And then there is the setting. It’s surrounded by their vineyard and has views of the Rogue Valley. We were there in January, but they have a lot of outdoor seating for warmer weather and they apparently have really good live music there during the summer months. And last but definitely not least were the friendly and welcoming people working there. We spent a lot of time just sipping wine and chatting with AMY, AUTUMN, and SARAH. Well done 2Hawk management! I rarely give 5 star reviews but this is deserving, and we will definitely be coming back when we return to the area in the Spring!

Came here with my boyfriend to see his boss play with his band. This is definitely a nice place! We loved the view of Medford and the rest of the valley. Very lovely. I really enjoy the look of the restaurant itself, the rustic cabin look. The two servers we talked to were really outgoing and nice women! Very attentive too, we never ever came close to even running out of water. As for the menu: we didn’t try any wine(we are not wine people) but we got a wild mushroom«hawk-za»(pizza) to share which was really good. Very fresh tasting! Not QUITE worth 9 $… but this is a winery, nothing will be cheap! This is definitely a really nice place to come to if you want to enjoy some nice local music, wine and good company. Would definitely come back!

Stopped in after being away for several months and was impressed again! The attention that the new owners have given really shows. The wines have improved and the food was awesome! I will come back much sooner this next time, We had a great time.

Had not been to the winery before though had driven past many times. Rumors were that the wines were not good. Was invited to meet another couple there Saturday night. Bought two flights of wines, one red and one white, to be able to taste most of what was offered. We were not impressed. The whites were too dry and no hint of the oak they were supposed to have been barreled in. The reds were also not either bold or characteristic of the styles. So we went for a bottle of Syrah which was not on the tasting hoping it would be better. It was not of the quality we expect from west coast wines and certainly not from the Rogue Valley. Bought a bottle of the Red Tail Red too which was drinkable but still not up to standards. Food was OK. Salads a bit on the small side. Pizza was a thick crust with little topping. Pricing a tad high. Microbrews were available. Atmosphere was very nice and the band was country and very good.

Went here for the first time last night for a friends birthday. First thoughts: the décor and ambiance was fabulous! Very rustic cabin in the woods feeling with twinkly lights. Second thoughts: the service was mediocre, and when asked the servers questions about things we felt belittled. The wine selection was decent and decently priced but nothing over the top. A total of 8 wines(4 white 4 red). I may go back here but I wasn’t super impressed.

If you don’t expect a lot you’ll be fine. Lacking in service outside of the«covered» seating areas… meaning if you sit somewhere that isn’t covered then you are your own server. Decent pricing, wines are fine, nothing spectacular, though they do offer several varietals. My biggest problem with 2Hawks is their layout. Why have the majority of your seating facing the highway when you are set in gorgeous vineyards? Poor planning.

Location, decoration, location… what about service and a substantial menu? Digs: Located on a gorgeous plot overlooking the sparkling city of Medford, sprawling into farmland, where you can easily disconnect from your routine schedule. The interior and exterior is filled with rustic/vintage décor like previous reviews mentioned. The fire pit was a wonderful escape from the overpowering music and one of my favorite spots that night. It’s a beautiful setup but alas that’s where this review ends its flattering verbal spewing. Food: It had what was expected of a light-café fare, but then again when you order a meat plate you expect a selection not a small pile of salami. Luckily we ordered the cheese plate to compare and shockingly it was nearly identical! Both plates had the same cheese offering only difference we could see was a pickle instead of a pile of meat. 2Hawk needs more variety and better development to it’s finger-food choices. Wine: Cab — not stellar but acceptable Temperneo — delicious nose, fruit fun on the palate(Ledger David still takes the cake or grape with this Spanish love) Service: I’m attempting to hold back a tidal wave of negativity but after three bottle for a table of six our check was placed on our table. I’m not sure if this is a standard rule here but there was an hour until closing and our wallets were ready for another but apparently this winery believes it know when to cut off a group. It offended the individuals and created a sore spot for considering this winery again. Along with the preemptive corking of our wine consuming the waitress was not delivering that overly-friendly interaction I’ve experienced all over Medford now. It was a cold and short dialog when ordering food and drink. After three months of incredible service in the valley, 2Hawk ended this unprecedented streak with a inattentive server. See Ledger David winery. Robert will make you laugh like family and pour like your royalty.

We went here tonight because there was a notice in the Tempo that there would be a Chicago Blues band playing. We thought it would be fun to have a few glasses of wine and listen to some good blues. The venue is beautiful, but the wines are sadly lacking. We decided to have a wine tasting flight to start out, and I’m sure glad we didn’t buy a bottle. They have some of the worst wines I’ve ever tasted. All of them had a weird aftertaste, not like something you want in a wine. Some smelled like perfume and had an aftertaste like rubbing alcohol, fuzzed up my tongue and just didn’t taste like something you want to drink. I don’t know if it’s because of the age of the wines – they were pouring a 2011 Temperanillo and 2012 Voignier, as well as a white blend(the only drinkable wine at all, and not great – smelled like a boxed Chablis and only tasted marginally better), and a Syrah. Nothing was older than 2009, though they had a 2008 Cab or something on the menu(but not in the tasting flight). That was it, 4 wines, very tiny tastes, for $ 6. In this case, it was good it wasn’t more, because I could not drink any of them if they were more than a couple sips. All in all, this was a sad experience. We had our sad little flight of four tiny tastes and hubby’s little dish of Marcona almonds($ 3) and left when the band took a break. I couldn’t imagine sitting there listening to the band when there was nothing drinkable to enjoy. They need to concentrate on producing decent wines and perhaps letting them age a sufficient amount of time. All of the energy and effort appears to have gone in to building the tasting room, which is beautiful. My advice, skip this one and go to one of the better wineries. You will get better wines and a better value elsewhere. This stuff isn’t worth drinking. Buy a bottle of 2 buck Chuck and you’ll be happier.

Not very welcoming, mediocre wine. Staff did not talk to us about the wine. Weird scheme to join a club to get flights comped. Not a place if you are from out of state.

AMAZING venue. The private room downstairs in the basement was perfect for the wedding rehearsal, the winery has an exquisite attention to detail, everything is brand new, but it feels rustic. The wine was great, and they had 4 beers on tap(New Belgium, Kona) that were ice cold. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Oh, and the views of the hills and valley were breathtaking… highly highly recommend coming out here.

2Hawk is a new venue with good potential. It has start-up issues, but I think it bears watching. First, the tasting room is cherried out in refurbished/recycled stuff. It has a nice old, comfortable feel while being clean and modern. When we were there, the caverneous space was nearly empty, but there was still a good vibe. Probably more so because the staff was knowledgable and friendly. Unfortunately, the major draw for a winery tasting room is the wine and 2Hawk is just starting out. They had a choice of two reds and two whites. I only drink red, and the Syrah was very good, but the Tempernillo didn’t have any character. I didn’t mind trying a new winery, but until the wines are better or there’s more red to choose from, I won’t be begging to come back. Plus… they don’t waive the $ 6 tasting fee when you buy a bottle of wine. And, the tastings are small and measured. And,… they gave us a bit of very tasty, spiced popcorn when we sat a tasting table. It was a nice treat, BUT it was sufficiently spicy that the popcorn interfered with trying the wines. Remember, I was doing reds… and the popcorn was still a mistake to mix in. I’ll be listiening to local friends to hear what they tell about the progress of 2Hawk. The space is very nice, if they figure out that they should not charge for the small tastings when you buy a bottle, and if they supplement their selection of house-made wines with some allied vineyard or something, then 2Hawk will go on the map.

Great Atmosphere! I was recently at two hawk with my mother and aunt for a glass of wine after passing by this winery many times. The Viognier did not disappoint! This is a great destination for a warm weekend afternoon and I look forward to seeing bands play there during the summer.

2Hawk recently rebuilt their tasting room and the result is very impressive. The rustic outer appearance gives way to a classy-yet-homey feel. There’s a full kitchen in which various food-pairing events are hosted(so I was told), and a very nice downstairs dining room that would be perfect for small– to medium-size get-togethers, dinners and whatnot. None of the wines particularly stood out to me, but I was reasonably impressed and ended up buying a couple of bottles, which were priced in line with other wineries in the area($ 20 – 25 range). All in all, a good experience, and I’ll definitely be back in six months or so.
