LaPlante’s Landscaping and Tree Service

I had hoped to be able to write a positive report about LaPlante’s Landscaping and Bob LaPlante, however, he really let my sister and me down. Both of our parents passed away in 2010, and we asked Bob to do the landscaping and plowing at their house until we sold it. However, in mid-​winter 2011, we discovered that our parents’ neighbor was cleaning up what Bob had not done in terms of plowing and keeping the garage doors and front door accessible while the house was on the market. Despite what was a terrible winter, our job was pretty easy as there were no time constraints and we just needed to have a clear driveway and front walk.
We ended up hiring another plow operator during the winter and then decided to give Bob another chance with the landscaping in the Spring. Everything was going fine until I challenged him on his billing 6 months in arrears… I have two estatesthat I must close and cannot get bills for services that were performed more than six months ago. He was defensive and abrupt and ceased taking care of my parents’ property after that without notifying me that he was no longer going to maintain our estate property, which I did not discover until the day before we were closing on the property. On the day of the closing, my sister spoke with Bob and he assured her that he would take care of the mowing that day. He never did and four days later, the new owners had to mow the lawn.
I would never recommend this company and/​or Bob LaPlante for any services. He is incredibly unreliable. I also feel that we were taken advantage of since he knew my sister and I could not supervise his work on a daily basis, so we received substandard services. It’s too bad that he did not recognize a potential new customer in the new owner of our parents’ house. Instead, they have a new story to spread around Medfield regarding the condition of the lawn that they received and the landscaper who was, in theory, maintaining it…

I was surprised to see such a poor review of LaPlante’s Landscaping since my experience was quite the opposite. Over the last two years LaPlante’s Landscaping has done extensive work to my property including fall clean ups, spring clean ups, and the removal of over 10 trees from my property. Not only did Rob and his crew do an exceptional job, they also gave great advice on future projects and ways to manage the property. Rob is a very meticulous person and I find that his care for my property left me at ease that the best job would be done. I would recommend LaPlante’s Landscaping to anyone who wants great service and the best price.

Not happy with LaPlante’s Landscaping in Medfield. The owner, Robert does not stand behind his work. He promised to come back when my lawn died from «red thread» shortly after he planted it. After multiple unanswered phone calls to him, he never returned to fix the problem or refund any $$. Not a good business practice in a small town where everyone knows everyone. Too bad… I would have liked to endorse rather than «trash» his poor work ethic.
