Very dissapointed is all I can say. For the hefty price I expected more– a LOT more. It was like looking into a plastic bag full of un– boxed Lean Cuisines when it was delivered. My elderly in-laws(it was a Christmas gift for them) politely said it «wasn’t very good.» Don’t like writing a negative review, but just want to help others use their money elswhere.

I need to lose weight, but REALLY enjoy the taste of restaurant food. I have tried a couple of weight loss programs but they failed, as I don’t like to cook(Weight Watchers) and could not stand a ton of processed foods(Medifast). I priced out hiring a personal chef in my area, but the cost and variety of food each week would have been limited, as the chef would only be cooking for me. So I tried a few meal delivery services to compare the food before I committed to one(DineWise, Magic Kitchen, Personal Chef to Go). Dinewise and Magic Kitchen meals tasted awful(worse than airplane food). But ‘Personal Chef to Go’ tasted like I HAD hired a personal chef. The meals are delicious, filling, visually appealing, fresh(not frozen), and w/in my desired calorie count. Also, each week’s menu fulfilled the craving for a variety of proteins and vegetables. As for the cost each week(food + delivery), it is a little bit more than I had been spending on groceries and/or weight loss programs. However, when I bought groceries myself I would end up throwing quite a bit away, as I would not cook/eat before the food went bad. So I think the cost overall evens out. I am so glad I found ‘Personal Chef to Go’ !! I HIGHLYRECOMMEND !!!

I ordered the«couples on the go» «Dinner Only» menu. Delivery was fantastic and it actually arrived a day earlier on a Friday. I was so excited to try the food, my husband and I had an entrée each. I had the stuffed chicken with peppers, garlic and artichokes and my husband had the«chef catch». The food was very good. I would highly recommend this to many of my friends and family. I have a dear friend who just underwent surgery. As soon as her appetite returns, I will be sending her a few entrees as a gift. No more cooking late nights!!!

This is my first experience with a service that delivers ready-to-eat meals and it’s been ok, so far. If Unilocal allowed me, I would give it 2.5 stars rather than 3. We went with the«couples on the go» plan with five days of meals for two of us, each week. The plan comes out to a little over $ 130 per week. The good: Delivered to door Healthy, portion-controlled meals Saves time The just ok: A lot of the food is bland. The majority of their chicken entrees taste very similar despite different toppings/sauces/seasonings. The bad: Fairly expensive for the amount of food you get. I understand some of the cost goes toward delivery fees but I’m not sure paying $ 13 per meal(per person) is worth it. As a normal-sized male, there is not nearly enough food to make me feel full. While the meal portions are good for your health, their small size makes it hard to justify the cost. For example, the meal I most recently ate was«Grilled Chicken Breast with Tarragon Vinegar Sauce served with Petite Baby Carrots.» The wrapper says the net weight of the meal was 12 oz but I’m not sure that’s accurate. It included two very small chicken breasts which I would say totaled about 3 – 4 oz and a handful of baby carrots(maybe 8 – 10 small/skinny carrots). Overall, it’s a serviceable option if you have a busy schedule but it could be much better. We recently found out that Fresh Direct serves our area so we will be looking into that as an option.

I’ve been getting their meal delivery for 3 weeks. Food is decent, better than a frozen meal. However, cancelling their weekly autoship is impossible! I’ve been trying to contact the company for the past week to cancel my autoship delivery for the holidays, and they don’t have a phone support line, just an answering machine. My emails on their contact forms have gone entirely unanswered. Their customer service is horrible. I’m going to have to get my bank to block the charge. I’m really disappointed, I had high hopes for this service. Edit: They followed up with me today and cancelled my service, so I raised my rating. Not giving them full starts however, because I still think they need to improve their customer service options(I should be able to cancel through an automated system or online).

The meals are delicious. My husband surprised it with me the first time and I thought he had spent hours preparing a gourmet meal. The food is always fresh and prepared perfectly! The chicken is moist and has excellent flavor. The price is surprisingly modest — I would pay at least 5 times more if eating out at nice restaurants for this quality food. This is perfect for those who don’t have a lot of time to cook but want healthy and delicious meals. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHIS to EVERYONE! Word of advice — I think the meals taste slightly better if you take them out of their packaging and bake them in the oven instead of microwaving them. That takes only 10 minutes longer and gives a better texture and taste.

Personal Chef to Go has saved the day for my family! With my husband and I both working very hectic full time jobs, and raising 2 young children, we got caught in a trap of eating out almost every evening, often grabbing fast food or spending hundreds of dollars a month in sit-down restaurants. Last year, we decided to make some changes and started eating healthier and joined a popular weight loss program. Within several weeks of when we started that program, my company contracted with Personal Chef to Go to offer prepared meals as a thank you gift to our associates who had been working long hours on some important initiatives. I received a few of the meals as a gift and I was absolutely hooked from the first meal. We’ve been ordering from Personal Chef to Go every few weeks since last fall, and eating these meals has played a huge part in our combined weight loss of 130 pounds(and still counting!). These meals are MUCH healthier than fast food, and usually come in between 5 and 10 Points for those following the Weight Watchers plan. In addition, despite the cost of the meals we are saving several hundred dollars a month in restaurant expenses and the time saved is invaluable. Personal Chef to Go meals come fully prepared and ready to microwave in about 3 – 5 minutes, and they already have all of the nutritional values calculated and printed on the label including Weight Watchers points and all of the common nutritional stats(fat, carbs, fiber, protein, etc). We order off the Couples plan every 2 – 3 weeks, depending on the menu and what suits our taste, and eat the meals every few nights while I prepare dinners on less hectic evenings. We often pair the meals with a whole wheat roll, fresh cut fruit, and sometimes an extra vegetable depending on what the meal already includes, and the volume of food is more than sufficient to feed both adults and our 4 year old. Did I mention that the meals are DELICIOUS? The crabcakes are my absolute favorite menu item, and each meal includes 2 generous sized crabcakes; you also must try their Jambalaya and Korean Grilled Beef. The meals do not disappoint! The meals are packaged in individual portions which allows you to mix and match, take an individual meal for lunch, or heat both of the same meal– complete flexibility to enjoy when you want! The instructions on the top are very clear and you can freeze the meals and they heat up perfectly(we freeze almost every one of them and only pull them out the night before we are going to eat them). These meals also make excellent gifts for new parents, housewarming, teachers, people living on their own, or just about anyone who loves to eat. I am not a spokesperson for Weight Watchers, but if you are following that program, Personal Chef to Go meals are a no-brainer– they take all of the guesswork out of healthy eating and make it easy to stick with the plan in minutes each day. If you are short on time, want to eat healthier, dislike cooking, or just need to freshen up your meal plan, you must give Personal Chef to Go a try. I promise you will not be disappointed.
