We’ve been checking out vinyl stores all around central Pennsylvania. This is a small one, which doesn’t have a lot in terms of Heavy Metal, my son’s main interest. But the owner is friendly (not always the case around here, believe me) and the prices are reasonable.

I discovered the Record Smith on Father’s Day weekend. It’s a simple place down a side street and since I had been looking for a local record store, I pulled in the nearest parking lot. The Record Smith has EVERYTHING! Records in alphabetical order by artist, music DVDs, CDs, even newly released records! The prices are ridiculously reasonable and they’re always adding new inventory. The owner is so nice and friendly and his passion for music is really apparent.
Overall, this is definitely a hidden treasure in Mechanicsburg. And everyone knows that records STILL sound better than CDs!
