I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness for several years now. There are several positives: 1) The monthly membership price — for self motivated exercisers, it is a good gym with a low price. 2) The location 3) Clean and well maintained — very rarely you see a note on a machine that it is not working. If the note is there, ever, it is taken care of within a day. 4) Friendly staff The reason why I took off one star: I wish they had some group classes too, like yoga.

For a basic gym and for $ 10 a month you cant beat Planet Fitness. This place has all the machines and weights you need and is immaculate. Employees are typically friendly and helpful and are always in the process of cleaning. The showers and restroom is spotless. Great place.

I have been in the area for over a year. I gave Planner Fitness three chance during this time — last time was today. They sent me a card«$ 5.00 to Join, $ 10.00 per month… so I go down and am told that I need to pay $ 39.00 joining fee! They want me to pay them 39.00 to become their customer — really? shouldn’t it be the other way around? They should give me an incentive to join their sub-standard facility not the other way around. *** This was their last chance *** Those of you who read this, please say no to «initiation» fees. if anything, they should throw 1 – 2 free months — not ask for you to pay them a «joining fee»!

This is a $ 10.00 a month gym. It’s a great price for newbies and veteran gym goers a like. Definatley not a place for body builders or fitness models to get new gains. Good for maintenance if you are at that level. Its open 24⁄7. If you«need» a gym that has more to offer, Planet is cheap enough as a back up gym to sneak in some kind of work out in your busy schedule. For this tiny monthly fee, you get great value. Is this LA fitness? No. But you get what you pay for. Honestly for 10 bucks, you get a lot! They have closed circuit and timed equipment for beginners to condition themselves. They have abundant cardio machines and targeted weights. They provide a somewhat private room that is open for kalestheics and self directed workouts. The facilities are clean and there is no funky sweat smell that unsanitary cheap gyms get. Minimal mirrors, which is wierd. I am not conceited, but I like to see my form and which muscles I need to concentrate on. It’s hard to share small mirrors with others on the same path as I. This is great for noobies since I guess it follow suit with«non intimidating gym». Members here are courteous for the most part! There are places to sit and rest and it’s large enough that you find spots to start a new workout in private.

Ok, so rating this gym for what it is — a $ 10 a month Planet Fitness, it gets an A+. For those comparing this to LA Fitness or the like, it’s simply not fair. If you want a fancy gym with the fixings, go pay for one. For those interested in going to work out at a clean gym with more than pleasant staff, this is the place. It’s nice and simple and not at all intimidating. I really have nothing negative to say, for the price it can’t be beat.

Very friendly staff. I go in the mornings and it is very easy to get on the machines I want.

This place is the dumbest gym I’ve EVER been to. It’s a joke if you want my real opinion. I’m not a body builder, but you can’t grunt or make noises when you lift weights? Are you insane? Their«Hydrotherapy» bed is ridiculous — doesn’t even feel good, along with their massage chair that you sit on for 5 minutes. What a waste. I can’t tell you about their Tanning because I’m naturally gifted with that. I’ve been to two gyms, so I’m speaking for Mechanicsburg AND Lebanon. I wanted to come for a day with my boyfriend, so I figured it would be $ 5 for a day pass. No sorry, it was DOUBLE! $ 10 so I can go to the gym? I don’t think so. So I wanted to pay a membership, might as WELL right? Well, that was $ 40 down BEFORE I paid $ 10 bucks, you can kiss my Asian BUTT! So since I already had my gym clothes ON and ready to go, I paid $ 16 for the Black Card — which had NO down payment, surprisingly. I’m going to cancel it before the 10th. Biggest waste of money. When you have a Black Card, your guest can only come with you 10x within the month. The only good thing about this gym for customers is that it’s open 24⁄7. It’s too small for my likings. I say go elsewhere. Thanks for the free shirt though!

This is a dump of all dumps! Don’t get me wrong now. I go here everyday like the rest of the 7,835,873 people do. It is the cheapest gym around. As with most things, you get what you pay for. The selection of free weights is very minimal. Some dumbbells, and a few bars. That’s about it. There is an OK selection of machines, to include treadmills and bikes, but it is always so FRIGGINGCROWDED! The locker room looks like a bathroom in a subway station and subsequently smells like one. If you want to pay $ 10 a month and don’t expect much, this is the place to go. There is all the dog and pony show here just like at any gym. Lunkheads everywhere with the grunting and sticking their chests out to attract all of the women. LA fitness is 3 times as expensive and its 3 times nicer. But, you get what you pay for.

Tucked into where the old Tweeter Stereo store used to be years ago, The Purple and Yellow interior of PF is a great place to workout. Their 9.99 a month plan can’t be beat for the equipment they have available. I don’t feel intimidated at all when working out with their«Judgment Free» policy. Basically it states if someone is doing something to make someone else uncomfortable, it will be dealt with. No grunting muscle jug heads, no super-fit annoying exercise maniacs. Just normal people trying to get their lives in better shape. Their staff is pretty decent and work with you whenever there is a problem. The personal trainer they have on site is free for any member of PF all you need to do is schedule time to visit with him. The location has 50+ Treadmills 25+ Ellipticals, Free weights w/20+ Weight stations, many targeted workout stations, a 30 minute quick workout program, an entire row of flat screen tvs’, a constant 72 degree temperature, clean stations, trash bins, showers, lockers, 6 tanning booths, 2 massage chairs, free tootsie rolls, and a partridge in a pear tree. The staff enjoys giving tours, so if you’re a little interested, give it a look. Oh yeah, every first Monday of the month is Free Pizza day. Kinda counter productive for a Gym, but hey. Free Pizza!
