Happy Garden

Called ahead and had trouble talking to the young girl on the phone. Food was quick and tasted good. Questionable chicken in the chicken and broccoli.

Live in Mechanicsburg and tried other places. Loved the food here best for Chinese delivery. Lof of food for a good price. Try General Tso’s Chicken extra spicy. Best ever:)

Several times. Chicken and broccoli looks like mystery meat and broccoli. Not given total when done with order have to ask for it. Delivery guy is a creeper. 2x he peered into our door to ask what we were watching on TV, and then questions the tip her was given even tho it took 90 minutes for delivery.

Tried Happy Garden for the first time this past weekend. Never knew it was there. First impression: A young girl about 12 – 13 years old working the front making change and handling credit cards with a terrible head/​chest cold. Great! Strike One.
Ordered wonton soup, egg roll and a Szechuan dish to go.
Wonton soup: canned broth with not overcooked/​hardened wontons. OK
Egg roll: overwhelmed by grease. Strike Two
Entrée: Again overwhelmed by grease, heat provided by that traditional Chinese Szechuan seasoning, dried pepper flakes, instead of real Szechuan peppers. Everything overcooked. Strike Three.

This place delivers to my trucking companies driver lounge and when they are there they steal any menu that isn’t for happy garden and leave only theirs so the drivers have no choice but to order from them.
Every time I’ve called to place an order they have a little girl answer the phone who never ever gets to order correct and when I get the food say this isn’t what I ordered they almost always say there’s nothing they can do about it.

Well three strikes and you’re out. This is the final time I will EVER give this hole a chance. Three times now I called after a hard day at work and after an hour of waiting, call to find out they forgot about our order. This place sucks and the child answering the phone has no clue how to listen to a customer.

Just standard Chinese. Nothing is home made it tasted like all the other Chinese restaurants I ate at. It wasn’t bad but it was nothing special. I thought it was a little expensive for the quality of food that you got. The place needs cleaning too, especially the ceiling fans.

My family stopped by this place on the way to Hershey Park and we were very impressed with the quality of the dishes we ordered. The food was very fresh and the owner was very friendly. We are from New York so we have very high expectations and this place was definitely a nice surprise.

Not recommended.

Tried most of the Chinese restaurants in the area & they are better than most of them!
But I’m always looking for better in the area!

If your looking for decent Chinese food this is your place if your looking for a fairly priced Chinese place this is not your place. General Tso chicken at pf changs is 13 dollars general Tso chicken at happy garden 11 dollars. The quality is no where close to the same level. I understand food cost are going up but I just spent 30 dollars on two orders of Tso chicken and 1 lo Mein side.

Always a good experience here. This is my husband and I’s favorite place to get chinese food. The staff are ALWAYS friendly. We have nothing but nice things to say about here. They even know my husband and his father personally to remember their order when they come in. Their portion size is great you get the value for your money. It almost seems like this place is a hole in the wall but it is a very nice restaurant.

We were staying at a local hotel and ordered from Happy zgarden because they delivered and because we could find an online menu.
The food was very good. What we liked as travelers is that we could get a combination meal instead of quarts or pints of food because we would have no use for leftovers.
The Cran Rangoon appetizers were delicious as was the sweet sour chicken and the beef, peppers and onions. The combination meals came with a tasty pork fried rice.
Everything arrived hot and quickly. You can’t go wrong with this place.

I’ve been to Happy Garden quite a few times over the past two-​and-​a-​half years, but a visit last night provoked me to finally write a review.
I phoned around nine to find out how late they were open. They informed me that they would be open until eleven. As it was a nice evening, I decided to walk over. Upon walking in the door, I was very warmly greeted. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier! One of my pet peeves in any restaurant is when the staff speaks loudly in foreign tongues that I don’t understand; a staff member came out and apologized for their rudeness and even told me what they were talking about. This is the only Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to that cares enough about people’s comfort level to include the customer in the conversation!
The menu is standard Americanized Chinese fare, but there is a wide selection in each category (including a pretty nice selection for vegetarians). I ordered shrimp and broccoli and fried dumplings, both of which were absolutely incredible. The entire cost of my meal, bottle of Vitamin Water, and tip was well under $ 20, and it was enough to feed two hungry adults (well, not the Vitamin Water — that was all mine).
I’ve had both delivery and take-​away from Happy Garden. I recommend picking up your food as the delivery driver is a little old man who tends to get lost in town…

If you want the freshest and cheapest Chinese food… look no further! We stumbled in here one night while waiting for our laundry to get done. There’s seating, but it’s informal, as in… you order at the front desk and they bring the food over to you. The service is quick and friendly… the owner always has a smile on his face! The shrimp egg rolls and cheese wontons (crab rangoons to us Massachusetts people) are fantastic. The steamed wontons are literally mouthwatering. My boyfriend and I had two full meals and two drinks for under twenty dollars. I think this is reasonable considering all of the food we ordered.
MUCH BETTER THEN CHEF WONGS!
Happy Garden is cheap and fresh… what could be better?
