Terrible customer service. Would not accept return that was a gift without receipt. Both items still in plastic with Mace barcode and price sticker intact. Reloading supplies that came in kit I had bought from Mace earlier before xmas. As well as powder and other supplies I had bought. Spent hundreds and was thinking of a Kimber mtn rifle and Zeiss scope.
Never set foot in there again. Ed Moore, salesman and his «boss» what a joke the general manager, Todd Hosig. Great job. Hope Bass Pro eats your lunch.

I never knew this place existed until I rode past them on I-​40 yesterday. I thought I’d stop in and see if they had any closeouts on camo. What a great place! Well lit, clean, great selection of hunting gear. The archery shop was great, with a good selection, even at the end of the season.
I stopped by the gun counter. They were really busy but I didn’t have any trouble finding someone to help me, and he knew his stuff. Found a great little pistol that was on sale at a good price and I bought it completely on impulse. The paperwork only took maybe 10 minutes, it was the fastest I’ve ever experienced anywhere.
One thing I appreciate in a gun/sportsman’s store is whether it’s friendly to families, women, or people new to shooting. Mace seems to be that kind of place. Some places can be dark as a tattoo parlor and have that smell of testosterone like you find at tactical/​military surplus shops in Fayetteville. Not here.
These guys are great. Whenever I’m passing through again, I’ll be sure to make time to stop by again.

Great place to find your next pistol, rifle, or shotgun! They have expanded the store and have quite a variety. The people are always friendly and very helpful from the time you walk in the door. The prices on the pistols are definitely reasonable and they have a great selection from all brands and calibers. Do yourself a favor if you are in the area and looking for outdoor supplies.

In short this place provides little, to no customer service and simply wishes to get guns out the door much a like a big box store. If you do go, which I can’t recommend, go with your own knowledge, an eye for detail, and mostly expect absolutely no help should you have an issue. I really want to like this place, but after purchasing several guns from this store I would never recommend them to friends or return. The first gun was a deer rifle from my wife. Not only did the gun malfunction from the start (not cycling rounds, jamming), I had terrible issues when trying to zero the scope… Why? Because they sold my wife an AIR RIFLE scope for a .270 rifle. We took the gun back the next day, and they claimed the scope should be fine… wrong! Eventually they agreed to take both items back, but only gave me a partial refund on the firearm sale. Reluctantly, I used my store credit to purchase a new gun and scope that works well. Considering they’re selection and a deal on scopes they were advertising; I decided I would purchase a NEW muzzleloader from them for the upcoming season. I called to check their inventory and they had one new gun (the model I wanted) in stock. I asked for a cash price (around $ 40 off) and purchased the rifle with a new Nikon scope. They mounted and bore sighted the scope and sent me on my way. When I arrived home I took the rifle out of the box and noticed a small nick in the finish, near the breach plug. Being a carbon steel barrel on a muzzleloader this worried me due the risk of corrosion issues… If the finish was nicked sitting on the shelf, how will it hold up in the woods? I immediately called the store to speak with someone and they said to come back by the store and they would resolve the issue. I never fired the gun and all tags were left in tact. When I arrived to the store they refused to help me, refused to take back the gun, and said the nick in the finish wouldn’t affect the guns performance. WOW, incredible customer service? I spoke with a manager, who then spoke with an owner, who stated he thought I had nicked the finish in the gun. WOW, now you are calling me a liar… I honestly feel insulted and cheated, and both the manager and owner could have cared less. It seems that «Bill Mace’s bad habits» will continue well past his 68 years and that instead of «Making Shooting Fun» they will «continue to grow their business» with «[last] place customer service».

Great sports store. I was very impressed with all the high quality goods they stock and sell here. A very extensive hunting section. It is conveniently located just off the interstate, and you have probably seen it many times when driving by.

Mace Sports is a great gun and archery store! Leon is the best source of gun information anywhere. He has shepherded me from neophyte seeking home defense to gun enthusiast. Along the way, he told me about guns that would best fit my needs. I will be forever grateful that he got me interested in Smith and Wesson revolvers first and now a variety of pistols. Leon typifies the interest of the people that work at Mace’s.I have felt welcome every visit. Their salesforce are friendly and knowledgable. I have found nothing better than Mace’
best endorsement is the fact that I drive more than two hours to get to them. I trust them and look forward to each visit. Give them a try; I guarantee you will be pleased and well-served.But remember, this is not heaven… it’s Mebane!

Nice selection! Customer service was very good. Matt helped me & was very knowledgable of the products.

We love Mace Sports’ selection of guns and archery equipment, but the best thing about this place is Donnie in archery. He has helped us countless times with arrows, ordering specialty bows, exchanging a product that malfunctioned (no fault of Mace Sports), tying in peep sights, and on and on.
In addition to archery and guns, they have fishing gear as well. Largest place for decent hunter supply in this area.

Worst service ever. I bought my first pistol from them but I was treated really bad. They tried to oversell and offer no help at all. No explanations on the gun very rude and they seemed to be pretty pissed off that I wanted to buy from them. Guess what I will never buy anything from that store ever again.

I’ve been to Mace Sports twice now and vow to never return. The staff leave something to be desired and I’ve never seen such horrible customer service. If you like high prices and down right bad customer service then you will love this place, if not I have two words for you, STAY AWAY!
