The food was okay. We ordered the special KC Strip but they were not prepared to cook the steak at medium well. The manager was very accommodating and the service was good but I am not for sure if we would go back.

This place doesn’t get enough credit, the best place to eat in town, very clean and the foods delicious, i get the campfire shrimp every time for an appetizer, possibly the best shrimp I’ve ever had. Definitely give them a try.

Great steaks and burgers. Lots of great appetizers. If you stay at The Best Western there’s no need to go anywhere else for meal. If your just passing through, it’s definitely the best place to eat between wichita and salina

To be frank, the first time I went here I saw a couple who were mobile only due to electric wheelchairs. Probably the doing of Montana mike. I’ve been a few times only because the selection of restaurants is extremely lacking. Burgers are decent. You will feel unhealthy when you leave.

A steakhouse, regardless of being in a chain of not, should be able to provide steaks cooked to temp. Both of our steaks were not cooked properly. We asked the waitress if it looked like mid-rare, but she admitted that it was completely rare and took no action to make things right. Considering the restaurant was not busy, I’m not sure how it took us 45 minutes to receive our order, but our steaks only needed about 120 seconds to complete and it was rushed out of the kitchen. I thought I had low expectations, but WOW! Not planning on returning…

Let’s be honest. i didn’t expect much from a chain steak house in Mcpherson, Kansas. One of my coworkers told me they had very bland steaks… but I was happy to get the delicious meal that I got. Which was a 20 oz porterhouse, which was cooked fine with decent flavoring, side salad(could have been bigger) and a sweet potato. The sweet potato was perfectly cook and tasted great… but was the SMALLEST sweet potato I have ever seen. service was good, ordered a drink Prospectors Punch, which at almost $ 6 was entirely overpriced. Overall I think it was good and I would recomend, and it’s within walking distance of the motels.

This place stinks ! The one thing you expect in a steak house, is a good steak ! Think again, cheap piece of meat, seriously over cooked, the side salad never arrived and neither did the rolls. The bar tender apologised saying the guys in the kitchen had forgot to put the rolls in the oven !! To cap it all, I was cold, should have taken a wooly jumper with me. If I was you, I would give this dump a wide berth

This place used to be good when it first opened. Portions were huge and food was great. I don’t know if it was a change in management or what, but it’s gone downhill quite a bit. The last time I ate there I ordered a steak. Their steak is great if you like fat and gristle. There’s no excuse for serving such a poor steak. I don’t expect an amazing steak from a chain restaurant, but the cut should be of good quality for the price I paid(I can buy and cook a perfect steak for much less which is why I normally don’t get steak in a restaurant) and this wasn’t. Their sides used to be much better. I got a small, squished up roll when their rolls used to be huge, buttery, and round. Their portions have become smaller too.

To give perspective, I ate at Montana Mike’s 2 years ago, and I still remember it as perhaps one of the best burger places bar none. It’s certainly not for the faint of heart with large portions, but it’s a great place… perfect pit stop for cross-country roadtrips.
