It is my opinion that the people of a business make or break the company. Often times it’s the little things. The 4 people we worked with today at Rice furniture were stellar. They were personable, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, going beyond expectation. I discovered Green Mountain Grills(GMG) were on sale during Thanksgiving weekend. From the GMG website I learned that Rice furniture was a retailer. I did not know this before. When I called in to see if they had the specific grill I wanted, Shelly was super helpful, confirming that the specific item I wanted was in stock and available for pickup. She was patient and kind with me as she tried to carry on a conversation with me and the bookkeeper. When we came in we asked for Shelly. She was busy with customers and handed us over to Steve. Steve was a blast to talk with and a master fisherman and smoker. He shared several wonderful recipes and techniques even divulging things others might keep secret. Even the two fellows loading this behemoth of thing into our trunk were patient, kind and friendly. We were excited to get the new grill, but just as excited to learn of such a great retailer as this. We will definitely think of them first before heading into PDX.

I’ll admit — most of the items can be a bit cost-prohibitive. That said, not one piece of furniture I sat on was even close to being considered uncomfortable, nor was anything cheaply produced or generic. Definitely get what you pay for here, and that includes friendly and knowledgeable staff, a warm and welcoming environment, and plenty of furniture choices to consider when looking for a long-term investment.

Rob a bank then come in. You will need to when you see the prices. Stopped in for a recliner in black leather. Seemed easy. But no, they don’t sell black leather. Guy says its a dying color. Black? Really? In looking at recliner prices and comparing to Portland area you are paying a 100 dollar plus premium out there.

Hi Rice is highly recommended. We live in MAC and have done business with Rice since moving here in 2010. We do lots of comparison shopping reading on-line articles, Consumer Reports, product reviews, etc and talked with neighbors. To our surprise Rice beat all the Big Box stores on price — some times for the identical item next door at Lowes. We even went to Portland to a large furniture discounter and Rice matched their price. Service is excellent too. We bought carpet, flooring and furniture when we moved and Rice and their installers were great to work with as we did a major remodel. Recently our fridge died and after extensive searching and getting prices from four competitors we bought a new one plus replaced very old washer and dryer the prior owners had left, all from Rice. Delivery, installation and carry off the old appliances is included. The Big Box stores all have their July 4th sales and Rice was again less expensive, had what we wanted and delivery was fast. BTW Lowes price on-line was over $ 50.00 less than Lowes in-store price and we had to ask for the on-line price and they charge extra for necessary connections for the W&D. Rice is a good place to shop.
