I don’t write many reviews but I really write to warn people that you can find a better title company. The office is nice looking enough, but I could tell there was confusion in their handling of my closing. Even leading up to the day of closing, the numbers were off. Check your HUD carefully. At the office, I could tell the closing officer was not on her game, just making little comments that seemed like she was unaware about the particular details of my closing. And even post-​closing, they did not step up to the plate to close out the case properly. That being said, I would shop online for a title company for better service and prices. I have worked with Entitle Insurance before and they were good and straightforward. There is also Boston Title and Performance Title. You can google all to get and compare prices. I think service might be better than this company. I didn’t enjoy working with them.

I purchased a property in DC in May 2013. The Option-​1 Title company closing agent was an hour late to the meet. I let that slide because he was very nice and offered to talk to his manager about giving me a $ 200 credit (although that never happened). Over a month later, I received my deed with my name spelt wrong so I was advised to send it back and that the correction would be made immediately. I called Paras on ⁷⁄₂₉ to let him know I sent the deed that day and followed up on ⁷⁄₃₀ via email to ensure he knew to expect it. I reached out on ⁸⁄₈ to see if Paras received it and was told «we have received the Deed and will be sending for recording. I can give you an update by next week.» But of course I was not updated, so I reached out on ⁸⁄₂₃ to check up on the progress of my deed and got a sentence response– «We are working on Deed correction». So I gave them over a month before I tried reaching out again. This time I asked my real estate agent to reach out to them on 10/​5, he got a response from Myla on ¹⁰⁄₈ saying «Our postclosing department is looking into this for you. They will keep you posted.»
Today is ¹¹⁄₂₁ (6 months after my closing date and 1.5 months after my last email) and I still have not received my deed or heard back from this company. They are unprofessional, difficult to reach, and just left me feeling helpless. I truly regret using this company and do not wish this experience upon anyone.
