Had brunch here for father’s day. Was very disappointing. Cold, dry food. $ 100 for 5(including 2 kids). Go somewhere else for brunch. On the plus, the service was excellent.

Wow I wish we had the experience that other diners had. We were not impressed. Planned to go here for Mother’s Day lunch/brunch and booked 1:45 table after finding that most other places in the area were already booked up. After being seated and chatting/catching up we were informed that the kitchen closed ten minutes ago and we should place an order. Server was not terribly informative or even pleasant. Only positive really, was that they called me after I booked on open table, to confirm and also make sure we knew they weren’t having a buffet brunch, which was fine but the extra effort just in case was nice. I feel like we should have only gone to this restaurant if we were staying at the hotel for convenience sake. Not special or worth venturing out to otherwise. There isn’t a bathroom in the restaurant you have to cross the whole lobby to the other end for a restroom. Décor was modern but almost seemed like trying too hard. Everyone at the table felt their food was just okay. Definitely will plan on making a Mother’s Day reservation elsewhere next year. ***Update– Megan from management reached out to us to apologize for our lackluster experience. They are mailing us vouchers for four to come back for lunch and give Härth another chance. Definitely appreciate their dedication to customer service. Will certainly update on future dining experience if we go back.

Warm, intimate, elegant setting with quality food. My fire roasted chicken was a little overcooked(hence the four stars) but my fiancé’s seared Rockfish dish was perfect. He found the menu to be limited but I prefer a simple but versatile menu. Service was first class. Take in the ambiance on a warm night with someone you really like, enjoy a glass of wine, a light meal and the calmness of this kind-of-secluded hotel restaurant.

Harth continues to be one of our favorite places to eat during cold or inclement weather. We love the large glassed-in gas fireplaces and appreciate the warmth! We got there between 5:30 and 6:00PM on a Saturday evening and had no problem getting a table without a reservation. Juan, our server, was very friendly and accommodating. He is terrific! I had the seared halibut for my entrée, and it was delicious. My wife ordered the filet mignon but asked that it be prepared gluten-free… unfortunately it came with potatoes which were not. Harth was very good about taking the plate back and preparing a new one to ensure no adverse effects, and Juan comped us our drinks for the inconvenience. Bottom line, we had a bit of a wait, but my wife enjoyed her steak so problem solved. Oh, I almost forgot… don’t miss the bacon jam that comes with the bread. It sounds a little weird, but it’s addictive!!! Expect to pay about $ 30 per entrée… my personal feeling is that’s a bit on the high side but I guess you’re paying for the food quality, the upscale décor, and the fact that Harth is in a hotel. Portion sizes are not overwhelming like some places, but I found them satisfying(especially with the bread and bacon jam!).

First off, we only thought of considering this place because we thought we had free breakfast for 2 with our hotel deal. Turns out there was some mix up with the hotel and outside booking service. However; the front desk decided to give us breakfast for free anyways which was really nice. Full breakfast meaning buffet was priced at $ 25 and continental breakfast(order I’m assuming) was priced at $ 16. Pros: — Really nice seating and environment. — Warm setting because of all the fire places. — Service was good and quick. — The croissants were delicious. — Free jar of bacon jam when you check in on Unilocal. — Wide selection of juices. Cons: — The buffet selective wasn’t much for the price. — The eggs were very watery. — The biscuits were so dry and the gravy was cold and bland. — The area for the buffet was small and can easily get crowded. Overall, the experience was okay. It’s not an extravagant buffet and breakfast experience. If our meals weren’t free, we wouldn’t pay for this meal. The quality of food is not worth the price.

Had breakfast here twice during our four day stay, and the food was outstanding, service was just as good as the food. Our wonderful service Lidi made our stay even that more pleasant. Thank you for the great experience :))

Wonderful Food and Service. From the moment we walked in … EVERYONE who works at Harth made us very welcome. Flat Bread fresh and light.(Great Appetizer) Mussels juicy — nice broth — refreshing. Roasted Pork Collar SOGOOOOD — I had the Pork with new potatoes and veg medley which were cooked to perfection. Maria our Waitress(From Brazil) was outstanding … THANKYOU ! We will be back.

Amazing bacon jam with warm bread for every table. Turkey sandwich with cranberry mayo is great too. Great atmosphere and ambience. Not your typical hotel restaurant.

The room we stayed in gave us 2 coupons for the breakfast buffet. The set up of the place is very nice & decorative, the staff is also very nice(especially the hostess — I don’t know her name) and hard-working. The food was alright. I feel like I could have had better choices and food at iHop. Also, the prices of the food is absolutely outrageous. If we didn’t have the coupons it would have been $ 53 for just the two of us to eat at the breakfast buffet. The food at the breakfast buffet consisted of cereal, fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, bakery pastries(muffins were hard), home fries & a few other items. Overall, I would never choose to eat here because of the prices and the food wasn’t that great.

Good: maybe a slight stretch to give this place a four, but a little closer to four than three. I had the rock fish with some potatoes and veggies. Tasty, but the fish was perhaps slightly over cooked. That was fine for me, but others may like a less well cooked fish. We started with some flatbreads which were above average. Two styles. Traditional and some type of fig topping. As you sit down, they provide some delicious bread with butter and a bacon jam. I did not know that it was bacon jam so I ate too much of it, but it was delicious. Like really delicious. Service: polite, friendly, well done Atmosphere: at bit trendy, clean, lots of fire places behind glass which were pretty nice, bright colors and quiet lighting, just off the hotel lobby floor I could go back, but might try other options in the future.

Harth really brings the experience together in a warm friendly environment. The newly renovated Hilton in Tysons have really put up their A game. The open areas of the interior reminds me of Blue Duck Tavern but in a more functional manner with fire. Most restaurants underneath hotels are a reflection of the hotel, Harth is a prime example of my theory. After sampling a large portion of the menu I have to say, nothing was to overly seasoned or salty and was properly balanced. This restaurant was designed for large groups to share small plates and also could easily be for a group of two. The appetizers and flat breads across the board are good to great depending on your tastes. Each visit was welcomed by at least two people and was promptly seated with or without a reservation. The servers are very knowledgeable of the menu and could accommodate food allergies if necessary. Special acknowledgements are extremely welcomed here, for example our engagement dinner was here with a group of friends without a reservation during prime dinner rush. This brings up the catch 22 situation of the restaurant itself. I have never seen this place packed or heard of this restaurant packed. This restaurant could not sustain itself unless it had a deal with Hilton itself or Hilton itself owned the restaurant. Harth must take a hit in order to keep everything running so smoothly while keeping food quality and service on such high standards. In the end, the location is strange, in the bottom of a hotel hidden in the back of Tysons office complex district. The majority of the customers will be visitors of the restaurant itself until the word spreads. This is a great date spot during sunset on a warm summer evening outside on the patio or a group dinner on a cold winter evening by the fires. Food: 4.5÷5(still missing that wow factor) Service: 5⁄5 Value: 4⁄5 The hidden value in Harth is its consistency in food quality and service. This place makes Barrel and Bussel look bad for a similar price point.

Based on the food alone, the restaurant would have garnered 3 stars, but their deceptive seating practices resulted in the deduction of stars. We came from a meeting at around 11:45 am and asked for a table for two and the maitre’d noted that she had no more tables left until 1 pm. So we had to sit at the bar. Folks from our meeting with no reservations were seated at tables of 8 and 4. And tables upon tables(of 4) were seated and folks with two or less had to sit at the bar. They artificially tried to make their restaurant seem busy and opted for more high value tables. I have a strong distaste for this practice. The food was very well prepared for hotel food, but lacked flavor and forethought. For instance, the potato chips and French fries were fresh and fried impeccably well. But we’re not well seasoned. I got the wagyu beef panini and the beef was tender. The panini bread was also well prepared. The bread was crunchy but soft in order to bite straight through. The dried tomatoes also were strangely soggy. The sandisch had a strange mustard sauce that was overpowering. Also the delicious pickles were chopped so any attempt to put them on the sandwich resulted them falling out all over. The chef who prepared the food was cooked with stellar technique but lost out on flavor. Also, although bacon jam sounds like the«in vogue» thing, it’s quite gross and feels like soggy sugary beef jerky in a jar. Perhaps that’s why their free samples have never caught on. The restaurant was very well appointed and comfortable. But unfortunately lying to me left a bad taste in my mouth. Would probably not be back.

Like bacon? You’ll feel right at home here. For starters, bread with bacon jam. If you order the filet mignon, like I did, you’ll end up with sliced potatoes… wrapped in bacon. Nomalicious! But, seriously, the food here is amazing, the service warm and friendly, and the ambiance thoroughly chilled out. The only downside: it’s easy to blow through your daily per diem, and dessert doesn’t come with bacon.

Harth has a lot of fanciness, but the food doesn’t seem to match the quality of your surroundings. Harth is a beautiful restaurant inside of the Hilton McLean, which means it’s a hair off the beaten path but immaculately decorated. It’s freaking beautiful inside, which I liked quite a bit. Frankly, I can’t speak enough about the beautiful décor, which features crazy textures and fireplaces(!). Service was excellent. Prices are high, but not extremely so for the area. I had the Smoked Salmon Salad and the Fire Roasted Half Chicken with a Harth Flame cocktail. The Harth Flame was actually quite good — it’s allegedly inspired by ghost peppers — and rather hot, which I liked immensely. The Smoked Salmon Salad was equally tasty, though honestly a bit boring — it felt like a very light and refreshing salad that perhaps lacked a bit of panache. The bread and bacon jelly provided were both interesting, though I felt the bacon jelly was more for amusement than eating — I can’t see myself craving it beyond just trying it for the amusement value. The Fire Roasted Half Chicken was superbly cooked but equally a bit simplistic — I would have hoped for something a bit more adventurous, though I suspect I may have picked the blander option on the menu. Don’t get me wrong, I can tell the chef here has immense skill, and is likely limited a bit by the desire to make food that your average hotel customer would want. There’s apparently a «Foodie in Training» menu selection on certain days(?), which sounds like his way of avoiding the bland options I listed above. I kinda felt bad for the guy for some reason! In short, a good place, but maybe a bit less exciting than I would have expected given the über-cool décor.

Eek, not the most pleasant breakfast experience. After being seated we asked what the wait time would be for omelettes, as we only had a half an hour to spare. Our waitress told us ten minutes. We each ordered and didn’t receive our food for 30 minutes. In addition, they served one of us the wrong omelette altogether and when they said they’d replace it, we were not about to wait another 30 minutes to receive the correct one. We scarfed down our tiny, overpriced, incorrect omelettes in less than a few minutes because at this point we were late. They charged us for the incorrect omelette and made us wait another ten minutes while they figured out how they were going to reimburse the incorrect meal. If you’re in a rush, don’t go here!

OMG! I was lucky enough to get a sample of Harth at Unilocal’s Fire and Ice ball. They were serving Shrimp and Grits — with the famous BACONJELLY. I am not even a huge fan of bacon(I know — it’s a shock.) but this was outstanding!!! I have been raving about this place all because of this one sample. The people working the Harth station were very courteous and professional. They were also very well prepared for a large group, so there wasn’t really a line to wait. Harth is on the top of my ‘Must try” list.

I tried the food at Harth at a Unilocal event, so I can’t talk about the price, but the food was pretty delish. Five stars to every type of flat bread going on here, as well as to the bacon jam. Seriously, who came up with that idea? It’s genius. I want to eat it on everything. Will say, you will live a full life even if you don’t eat the sliders here. Not that impressive. The ambiance is really nice. I love how this restaurant is set up. There’s a fireplace and lots of booth seating. And the kitchen is open. You know I appreciate watching the chefs make my food. Décor is trendy/classy. Not too lit, not too dim. I don’t know why you would come here if you weren’t staying in the hotel, but I’d definitely dine here if I was. It’s a super nice place without feeling overly stuffy.

Quirky décor — kind of like a restaurant at a ski lodge… fireplaces everywhere Quirky food — they start you with a bacon jam with the bread basket, which is pretty good, BTW Quirky server — our waitress was quite directive about what you should order, both drinks and food, amusingly so I would eat here again if I were in the hotel, but I wouldn’t go out of my way by any means. I felt like all the dishes were missing a little something, and so ultimately I didn’t really enjoy the food. If my entire beet salad had more than a teaspoon of the goat cheese it was supposed to, I would be shocked; accordingly, it was a little one dimensional. I had scallops for an entrée, which were good, but again, kind of one note, as if it was missing the right seasoning or garnish. The huge apple tart looked much better than it was; it was kind of just a piece of puff pastry with some sugar sprinkled on it… and the ice cream that came on top wasn’t very flavorful either. The server was a trip the way she convinced some people at our table to order dishes other than the ones they had planned on, and drinks too! Colleen basically had her entire meal re-envisioned by our waitress. Prices seemed to be about what you would expect. Drink list was solid, with some good cocktails and beers.

Location, Ambiance, and Dress Code: Harth is located in the Mclean Hilton. Both the hotel and the restaurant are nicely appointed and cozy. The hotel bar or the restaurant would be a great place to host a happy hour, dinner gathering, or have a date night. The décor is modern, but inviting, and includes earth tones, fire places, and mood lighting. A few of the dining chairs are rather uncomfortable and box you in where you have to either scrunch into the chair or put your arms high up over the chair arms. I would avoid these types of chairs if you have a choice. The dress is casual. Most people seemed to be dressed in semi-casual business attire, but the restaurant was accepting of me in my yoga pants(I normally don’t do this, but circumstances required it). Harth is closed on Sunday evenings. Food and Drinks: The menu is a bit sparse for those with dietary restrictions, but all in all the food turned out decent-to-well. The only disappointment was the Fire Roasted Half Chicken with Swiss Chard, Grilled Scallion, Yukon Gold Potato Purée, and Rosemary Jus. My friend found the dish to be bland considering it was roasted for 30 minutes(note: this dish does take 30 minutes to roast and your server will notify you of the wait time). I really enjoyed the Quinoa Salad with Marinated Mushrooms, Sliced Apples, Caramelized Butternut Squash, and Apple Vinaigrette. I normally do not like fruit type dressings but the flavors blended well and I ate ever last morsel on my plate. The salads are moderately sized. My other friend enjoyed the Quinoa Salad as well but she found the Ancho Chile BBQ Shrimp & Grits to be too mushy. I also ordered the Apple Snap Mocktail and definitely recommend it. It’s made with Apple Cider, Fresh Lemon, and Homemade Ginger Beer. It was quite refreshing and it was not too gingery that a child would turn up their nose at it. Major props to Harth for having Gluten-Free table bread available. That is such a rarity and a treat! It was served with a soft butter and a bacon jam(one free jar with Unilocal check-in). There are only two Gluten-Free dessert items — Flourless Chocolate Cake and Sorbet. We skipped dessert, but the Pear Sorbet sounded enticing. Prices are pretty standard for the area. Salads cost approximately $ 11 — $ 14, most entrees range in the mid $ 20s, mocktails cost $ 7, and dessert is around $ 10. Service: The service was good. I don’t remember much about it, which is typically a good thing. The restaurant was not crowded on a Friday evening and it seemed they could easily accommodate large groups. We were not at all rushed and were able to take our time, which was appreciated. Restrooms: The restrooms are located outside of the restaurant, down the hall. They are nicely decorated and were clean. The cleaning staff provides a trashcan next to the door so you can easily discard of the paper towel you would use to open the door. This always makes me feel a bit better about the sanitation of restaurant employees’ hands. Parking: Valet parking is available or you can just park right out front in the lot. All in all, Harth is worth a visit!
