Absolutely unacceptable customer service! To break it down: I wanted to buy a little gift for my old college roomie and figured since I haven’t been to b and c in a really long time, I’d give it a go. I arrive at 10:50ish, store doesn’t open till 11 so I wait around. At 11, there is still nobody in the shop. What I assume was the owner arrived at exactly 11:01 and as soon as she got got out of her car, said that I was too early it wasn’t 11 yet to which I replied it was. What she should have done was get to the shop earlier to set up because with an attitude she told me that it will take her 15 minutes to turn the lights on. She then proceeded to ask me what I was looking for and I told her jewelry for my friend. 5 minutes later, I decided to leave, having not finding anything that suited what I was looking for. I told her to have a good day and so she looked at me with complete impatience telling me that once she gets all the lights on, she will help me. I politely told her that I might come back later for I live in the area, which is true. She then responded«OKAYWHATEVER!» with an attitude and stormed off. It was SO rude. My mom also told me later that she’s gotten poor service from them before when she wanted to get an item from the window with the response that it was too hard to reach or some shit like that. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will not be coming back. There are so much better consignment stores in the area. I simply went there because it was close by and I didn’t feel like going to Tysons. The Artisans across the street was what I was hoping would have what I was looking for but due to the holiday’s they were out of a lot. Anyway, if you are looking for a gift or funky jewelry, I would go there! But NOTBETSEYANDCORNELIAS!

What a fun place! Shopping here is an experience! It’s like walking into a small town… people are friendly and talkative! Betsy and Teresa are some of the sweetest people I have had the pleasure of knowing! And it’s like a treasure hunt, you never know what you might find there! Lots and lots of neatly organized stuff! So much fun! I highly recommend this place! :)

Betsy and Cornelia’s is a fun place to poke around. They mostly sell consignment women’s clothing and jewelry in addition to art, some furniture and the odd«vintage violin.» When you enter, the shop is set up more like one single shop in the front of the store and seems to switch to segmented shops in the back with varies collections of clothes, shoes and fun costume jewelry. The layout was a little cramped and unorganized so give yourself some extra time to poke around. I am writing this review as a customer and not a consigner. Some of the items seem way over priced($ 18 for a used Purdue sweatshirt, $ 34 for a Max Studio sweater). The store definitely offers variety, though, and there are many vintage dresses and bags.
