I cannot vouch for the sushi here, but i tried the chicken terryaki. It is was $ 15, one of the cheapest things on the menu, but it did come with salad, miso soup, and steamed rice. Was it $ 15 amazing? No. Would i get it again? No. Would i come back to try the sushi? Yes if i had the money. The appearance of the restaurant itself is pretty cool. Its very authentic feeling and cultural. And you can clearly see the sushi chef making rolls fresh which is always a plus. I will update this review if I ever go back and try the sushi. They also have really cool sodas in the bottle, ask your server about it if you go.

Yet another instance where a restaurant was good in the past but now fails miserably. Admittedly, it has been a long while since I last ate here. It’s not even close to what it used to be. Went to lunch here with coworkers, and it was a big mistake. Our digestive tracts may never forgive us.

We had lunch today, the sashimi combo w/a dragon roll. The salmon was super fresh, creamy and buttery. The dragon roll is a favorite of ours no matter where we go and this one is on par with california sushi. This is the third time we’ve eaten here and we’ve never been disappointed.

i have just moved to mckinney, tx and went here with my newly made friends. The workers here were very active and constantly satisfied my needs. However when the time got busy it was harder for me to ask for the check. But i guess that was because they were preoccupied. Other than that, this place is perfect!

This is one of the worst sushi places I have ever been to. Not only are their slices of sushi EXTREMELY small they are also EXTREMELY overpriced. We spent $ 40 on 2 people and both left feeling hungry. To add insult to injury it took us OVER an hour to receive this mediocre tiny sushi… Never ever coming here again. Save yourself the trouble and go to the zen sushi in Frisco… You get all you can eat for 9.99 a person! And way better service!

Love love love this place! The tuna tower is the best I have ever had and my favorite roll is the sexy cowgirl.

Love the West McKinney location! Great food, extremely friendly staff, and the specialty rolls are delicious. Make sure you order a New York roll or Double Happiness roll. I love the Salmon Skin hand roll… simple, crispy goodness!

The sushi was comparable to Krogers… the egg rolls appetizers were surprisingly small with hardly any fillings. We had to wait for long periods of time to receive refills.

I’m so disappointed ! The people were so super nice(that’s the only positive), but I can’t believe I paid over $ 15 for a roll that was so small and average tasting. Unfortunately, I won’t be back :(

I have been here a few times. the food is always fantastic, and the service is good. My only gripe is that the TVs are over bearing. But for a good night out with some sake and sushi there are no better places nearby.

Tucked away in Stonebridge area of McKinney. One of the only sushi restaurants close by. I like how they have multiple specialty rolls. The Jay Hawk roll was my favorite followed by the Frisco roll. There was no wait time, which is a big deal to me because we have children who do not like to wait long. The wait staff was especially kind to them, and I appreciate that.

My family of four just dined here tonight because it’s all you can eat(AYCE) dinner for $ 11.99/ person.($ 9.99 /person for lunch) If a AYCE diner wants to try any of the specials, they only pay half the cost of that particular special. My wife ordered a bulgogi bowl for us to try in addition to her AYCE order. The AYCE dinner also includes soup & salad. You really can’t beat this awesome deal, especially when the sushi is not overwhelmed with the rice. In our opinion, the sushi here far surpasses Sushi Shack’s in Plano. Try Zen Sushi the next time you’re in Frisco!

Sushi was average. Pieces of fish were about average size. The service was prompt and friendly. Prices were to high for what we ordered. 20 oz soda is $ 2.50 and the nigiri is around $ 6 for two pieces. Probably should be closer to $ 4-$ 5.

I love sushi. I have eaten A LOT of sushi in my life. I have had mind blowingly good sushi, mediocre sushi, and bad sushi. I only go here because it is close to my house. If there were a better place around then I would go there, but this works in a pinch. The last time I had a pick up order from here I ordered the caterpillar roll. Which is my one of my favorite rolls wherever I go. This one was kind of disgusting. They left the skin on the Unagi and it looked like a slug. Plus the piece of Unagi was mostly fatty skin. Not cooked properly. Very, very little flaky eel attached to the skin. I ended up eating the roll without the Unagi because by the time I peeled the skin off there wasn’t enough eel left to bother with. I do not want to eat anything that looks like a slug. So Zen Sushi is ok if you are in a pinch and seriously need sushi. Otherwise, go elsewhere.

I absolutely love this place. I don’t go very often(Even though it’s in walking distance from my house) but when I do, they always make my food perfect. They even know my name! One time I went in and was a few dollars short and they told me not to worry about it and they would cover the rest. These people are super sweet and I would recommend their food to anyone who loves sushi.

Sub-par sushi at high prices. I don’t understand the ratings on this place… maybe because it’s all first-timers or people who haven’t had better. My bf got three types of sashimi which were 14.50 each and I noticed the sushi order form did not list how many pieces or rolls you get. Never seen a sushi place hide that before. He said his sashimi was fine. I got sushi combo A(27.00) and hot tea. The hot tea was more like hot water. I waited 20min more to get my meal. The combo(which is one of two to choose from – no varieties or sushi/sashimi combos here) came with miso soup and salad. The miso soup was water, flavorless and had microscopic bits of tofu and seaweed. No expense spared on those packets I see. The salad was too gross looking to eat. I like ginger dressing but what they serve up over browned iceberg lettuce looked like vomit. The sushi itself was fine, more like take out/supermarket grade and I left a piece of shrimp behind that had black edges on it. The décor is nice, the service was ok and it’s a suburban family type place but not a fancy place that you would want to have a special occasion at(which we were doing). The bill was absurd. We felt ripped off. Next time we’ll just stick to the Plano or Garland area for better quality. Wasabi on El Dorado is far better and that’s not an amazing place either but the quality is good there.
