Evolve Hair Studio

I came in with some problem hair (four different colors) and Stacy and Evie brought their minds together to fix the issue. Stacy worked tirelessly to make sure I was perfect when I left the salon.

I have been going to Evolve since I arrived here in Texas, back in June of 2015. Now I wanted to wait before posting a review here because as we all know too well, you get one good job, then maybe a second and then for some reason the quality goes right out the window. Well, after four visits of color and a haircut I think I have a pretty good picture of this place.
As soon as you walk in, you know that this is not your Aunt Sally’s beauty parlor. The place just oozes with easy and comfort. You are immediately offered coffee, tea or other drinks they talk to you about where you are, what you want and take the time to be clear on the results you are looking for,
When my wife came down to Texas, I introduced her to this place. Now my wife is a NY/​NJ girl which means she is very picky and demanding about how her hair needs to look. She has since been there three or four times and every time she was very pleased. She loves Stacy there.
This place is really good, It is not cheap and it is not fast but if you want cheap and fast, go to Quicky Snippy Hair Salon and you can get your hair colored and cut for $ 49,99 and with that you can get a free set of windshield wipers. The people here care, They care about giving you the hair that your want. They stand behind their product. They take their time so that everything about your hair is great.

I’ve been in the area for about a year now and just found Evolve. Man, I wish I had found it sooner. Having suffered through quite a few jacked up haircuts at a local Sport Clips, I had gotten tired of sitting with people who did not seem to care about my haircut, look, or whether I was there or not. So I tried Evolve after reading a bunch of positive reviews on here. I got an appointment with Evvy and am so glad I did. He got me the look I needed to function in corporate America without looking like a clone of a bunch of other suits. He also had some great advice for helping me fix my goatee. His products are some of the best I’ve used and give me a better look in less time than most of the junk I’d been wasting money on over the years. Also love the location and the nice mix of alternative music going in there. Very chill place. My wife went in after my experience and loved it as well. Highly recommend.

I have received two haircuts from this location from Eddie. He does the best job on haircuts for men. My wife has also received two haircuts from Mike along with color and we LOVED both of our haircuts each time! We also brought our son into the salon and Eddie offered up his service for kids haircuts. WOW! He was amazing with my son. So patient and each time he started getting agitated or crying, Eddie would stop and make my son laugh or feel more comfortable. By the time we left he went from traumatized from other so-​called «Kids Haircut» places to giving Eddie high-​fives. My son is two years old. So I applaud Eddie for his patients and creativity. My son also left with a great haircut.

Now i’m not one to go to a salon and get my hair cut, i normally have my family cut my hair, but im new to mckinney and needed a hair cut badly. i found this place here on Unilocal and thought why not give this place a shot. i was soooooo nervous bc ive never had anyone but my aunt cut my hair. I saw Evve the owner, HE WAS AMAZING!!! told me what was wrong with my hair, what i needed to do to help it and get it back to beautiful! i told him some things i wanted and showed him so pictures of styles i was looking at and he gave me exactly what i wanted!!! it was a lil more than i wanted to spend on a hair cut but oh boy am i extremely happy and it was well worth the $$!!! i will DEFINATELY be going back, and i absolutely reccommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly clean and amazing hair stylist!!!

I can’t review the actual services because I never received them. I showed up on time for my appt with Mike and was told he was running 30 minutes behind. I’m not sure why no one called to tell me that. I received THREE text reminders for my appt so clearly they know how to get a hold of me. After an hour goes by and still no Mike… better yet, no apology from Mike, I left. I hope they treat the next new client with a little more respect and consideration.

I too, found this place on Unilocal and am so glad I did! Eddie fit me in the same day I called and Stacy gave me a great cut and color/​highlights. They are all very knowledgable and professional without pretension. They are an Aveda salon so the products they use are first rate. The experience from beginning to end was just as it should be be! Stacy is meticulous about her cuts and gives a great shampoo/​massage. Once I got home and continued admiring my hair (because Stacy did such a great job,) I began overthinking on a strand of hair that was kinda sticking out (lighter shade than the rest) and it probably wasn’t a huge deal but it bothered me enough to call and ask if I could have it looked at. Eddie welcomed me right back and even though Stacy was booked with appointments, he took care of me himself. He fixed the strand and gave me an additional work through with toner which really helped me get the color I wanted. He and Stacy went above and beyond to ensure I was completely happy with the service. It is located near near McKinney Downtown Square so that after you get a fabulous do you can hop down to the quaint little shops and restaurants, much fun! I booked my next appointment and I can’t wait to return!

Today was my first day time going there and oh my god I loved how my hair ended… I was shock with my new look my hair is still not finish but I’m going next week to do the rest of it I really recommend this place… The guy names Michael really did a great job

I learned about Evolve on Unilocal.I get a great cut that took into consideration my fine but rather think hair. Additionally, although it would have meant a larger profit for them, I was encouraged to NOT color my hair even with a temporary rinse as the Evolve professionals believed I would be happier in the end if I did nothing since I am trying to return to my natural color. Great group. I highly recommend Evolve.

I found this place several months ago (through Unilocal) because I had a DIY hair treatment gone wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong. I was able to get in the next day and Jen fixed me right up! Fast forward a few months and Jen has moved to Arizona, however I started seeing Elyse and she is just as awesome. Always has a suggestion and somehow interprets what I am trying to say (blonde, but not like blonde blonde? But definitely like a whiter blonde?) to give me what I want. Evie (Evve? The owner) is extremely knowledgable on Aveda products and can recommend things to cure whatever ails you!

Such a great salon! I just had my first haircut there and will definitely be back. The space is lovely, as are the staff. Elise cut my hair — she is a total sweetheart and took the time to really understand what I wanted at the beginning of the appointment. I left with the best haircut I’ve had in a long time! I absolutely recommend Evolve.

Super cute salon… Jen is my girl! She cuts my bangs perfectly! I’ve received a bunch of compliments on my new do! The Aveda products are great too!

Jen was fantastic! I didn’t know what I wanted done with my hair but she gave me the perfect cut. I didn’t have to wait and everyone was super friendly. I’ll definitely be going back!

My friend and I were in a wedding last weekend and we are from out of state so researching a salon was a bit of a challenge. I found out about evolve from here on Unilocal and since they were one of the highest rated in McKinney as well as really close to the wedding location, I thought to give them a chance. And we were definitely not disappointed! Elise did our hair and she was super friendly and accommodating. The salon owner was also very friendly and talked to us while we were getting our hair done. Elise did a wonderful job on our hair and left us with plenty of time to spare to get back to preparing for the wedding. If I am ever in McKinney again in the future, I will absolutely come back to this salon.

Jen did a fantastic job cutting and styling my hair. She was very friendly and I highly recommend her.

Great place, great space. Everyone is really nice and listens to what you want.

Since moving back to the area, I had to find a new salon. Amelia is the best! She’s super sweet and laid back and does a FABULOUS job on coloring. When I say I want SUPER blonde highlights, she gets it right each time! Its a small little shop but its a lot of fun to go to. Will be using Amelia for all my hair needs while I live here!

I was very hesitant to dye my hair as I am the very low maintenance, don’t do anything natural hair style so when I talked to Amelia on the phone she was very reassuring and accommodating. I have put henna in my hair since i was little and i think the last time i put it in was close to year ago. So I was worried that the dye wouldn’t hold and salons have turned me away before. But they were so willing to test a strip and see make sure i get the red color that I want (im naturally brunette). I loved the environment, the staff, the owner. It was overall an awsome place to go for a cut, color and deep conditioning. :)
