When I go to McKinney Pediatrics, they always treat my children respectfully, and they give me-the parent-credit for having some intelligence. They are thorough and give sensible recommendations. We have seen Dr. Burton and Annalise so far.

We’ve seen Dr. Smith since our daughter was 6 months old. She has great bed side manners and willing to explain things to us first time parents. Looking forward to working with her for many years to come !

Called after hours for my son with a bad cough. Was told the doctor on call would call back soon. 5 minutes later the after hours service called back and said the doctor on call was not actually on call and a nurse would be in touch in 30 minutes. It is hard to believe that for a pediatricians office of this supposed caliber you actually cannot get a call back from a DOCTOR when you have a sick child at home with an uncontrollable cough, especially during the cold and flu season. Just got a call from the nurse 20 minutes later and she while nice works for a phone bank service and not All About Children and recommended a long steamy shower. Really??? Going to be a long night at my house.

Love, love, love Dr. Burton! We’ve been patients at his practice since 2006, and I agree with the previous reviewer that things have even improved over the years. The wait time to be seen is probably less than 5 – 10 minutes if arriving at appointment time, and the staff is all very friendly and accomodating. We always see Dr. Burton for regular check-ups(sheduled well in advance), however, we’ve rarely seen him for sick visits as his schedule hardly allows same-day openings. On the plus side, they have evening and some Saturday hours for sick visits, so getting in for an urgent appointment has never been an issue. And though we have no complaints about the other MDs or PAs that we’ve seen for sick visits, if seeing multiple doctors might be an issue for you, consider a smaller practice. I will say that the few times I’ve called to ask the advice of a nurse, I’ve always had to leave a message and wait for a return call(which will come in «24 hours», though it’s usually more like 3 – 4), and every time, they’ve ended up asking me to bring the child in to be seen, probably erring on the side of caution… but I can’t really fault them for that. All-and-all, I love their new, high-tech super clean office(with completely separate entrances/waiting rooms for well check-ups vs. sick visits) and Dr. Burton is the cream of the crop! In my opinion, the real proof is that my kids never have any reservations about going to see their pediatrician, and that makes this mama happy.

We’ve been going here for over 5 years and have had nothing but positive experiences. We met Dr. Todd Burton at the hospital in 2006 when he was the on-call pediatrician and he had us at hello. The appointmen wait time has greatly improved over the years and the nursing staff is always courtesous and friendly. We know most of the doctors pretty well and we don’t feel too rushed during visits. Sick visits are usually same day or early the following, depending on severity. Great practice and I’d refer them again and again!
