Little Italy

My husband and children love the food, atmosphere and friendly service. We have had many of the dishes off the menu and have never had anything negative to say about a meal. First class quality ingredients!

I met my friend for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the serve was awesome. I will be coming again and bringing my husband.

On route 85 from Petersburg to chapel hill, nc there are very few choices for food. This Italian restaurant in tiny mckenney is a real find. We had the Greek salad with added chicken and a vegetable calzone. Both were delicious. The bread was fresh and really good too. Stop here for great food!

Excellent! Driving north we needed lunch. My husband said pizza. So we stopped. This place makes the best pizza I’ve had in a long time.
Atmosphere was nice. We stopped at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. We heard the owners speaking Italian and knew we should have an authentic meal.
We ordered a small pizza to share. This is where the only negative happened. No pizza by the slice and my husbands halfway supposed to have green peppers and mushrooms. They brought out green peppers and onions. But they asked if we wanted them to take it back and make it right. My husband said it owls be fine, but they offered to bring out mushrooms to put on top. They brought out a plate of steaming mushrooms.
The pizza was delicious. It had a crisp crust, a delicious tomato sauce, and was steaming hot.
We are already planning when we can come back. (It’s a 2 hour drive from our house!)

Great service, quick cook time on the pizza. Perfect for a pit stop off 85. The pizza was exactly what I was looking for, I’m a purist and eat only cheese. It exceeded my expectations. I will definitely stop there on my next road trip.

Always consistent tasty food and great service! A good find. Lots of good things to choose from.

A popular local pizza place. They don’t do a lot, but what they do is done well. Sandwiches are good for lunch and the pizza’s and pasta make for a great family dinner. Also, the salads are pretty good too.

After a day of scuba diving at Lake Rawlings, we were in search of food. There’s a Subway and Dunkin Donuts, and the Nottoway restaurant near the lake, but we wanted to try something different. We thought about the Nottoway restaurant but it was closed (we were told they close for the week in early July every year). The lady at the Nottoway Motel told us about Little Italy.
This is a cute little place, but there’s a considerable amount of rusty vents and what looks like black mold on the ceiling tiles. The tables were clean, and there really wasn’t any off-​putting odors, and because we were hungry we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Stromboli and a plain cheese pizza with added spinach. The Stromboli was ok, but I loved the pizza. The crust was one of the better ones I’ve had that didn’t come out of a wood or coal fired oven.
If you’re in the area and diving at Lake Rawlings, I’d definitely recommend this place for good pizza. Just don’t look up at the ceiling tiles. :)

Man, what a find! Outstanding linguini and clams. Too bad that it’s so isolated. My wife isn’t much of an Italian food fan, but she was pleasantly impressed with the veal marsala. Great bread; generous portions. If I traveled this route more often, I would stop here every time.

Had a great dinning experience. Clean little place and the good that me back to ltaly. This will be a place I will come back to each time in am in town.

Liking this place more and more. Small place in a small town but I enjoy it. Food is great. Love the speg. sauce. Calzone are huge. For the price you can’t do much better. Not far off I-​85 in McKenney, VA.
