Mancini’s Bakery

My husband had been telling me about this bread of his childhood for years. We finally visited Pittsburgh and I got to taste it for myself. I totally get it now! This is the best bread on the planet! I don’t know what their secret is but it melts in your mouth! People are lined up on what does not look like a busy street — for what is the most amazing bread from people who seemed willing to go the extra mile for their customers. No wonder my poor husband gets homesick for this bread!

This place is A1. The best bread in Pittsburgh. Every time I go to the bakery the product is fresh and the service is fast.

I grew up eating Mancinis bread and still is a part of my lifestyle. Every Sunday spaghetti dinner — Mancinis «twist» was a staple. In fact it was un-​heard of «not» to have the bread at the table.
I remember when I was a little girl spending the holidays at my grandparent’s house. my cousins would tear apart the bread (instead of slicing) and dip into butter and garlic and then bake. I still make that type of garlic bread from time to time and oh that taste just brings me back to my childhood. So dam good.
My current favorite… a few slices of twist to accompany «sponge» stew (recipe passed from my Italian aunts).
I stop at the bakery probably once or twice a week for bambini pizza shells, breadcrumbs, twist or pepperoni roll. The bambini’s are the perfect size for a personal pizza. They bake just right on a medium temp in the toaster oven and are just delicious. I like to draw some lines with a fork and add a little olive oil and seasonings. The bakery also sells breadcrumbs (un-​seasoned) which are handy to have. I buy the breadcrumbs and keep them in the fridge/​freezer and they are fantastic to cook with. I enhance with Italian seasonings right before breading. The pepperoni rolls are very popular. and go very fast. I like to stock up on the hoagie rolls and cut into pieces and freeze. It’s so delightfully convenient that Giant Eagle and Ricci Sausage — amount other establishments carry the bread too. Sure I pick up from time to time. but the extra few minutes it would take to drive to the bakery is worth it.
I couldn’t imagine living in Pittsburgh «without» Mancinis bread. It is really the best bread in the world.

Simply the best. They make it fresh daily. Love that they take orders (makes it so easy if u order a lot) and it’s open 24 hours. That’s the nice thing. If u haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for?

Walking as a child to this place with my Great grandparents and grandparents was a great memory. The passing of generations and this place is still here. Now I am taking my family too. The bread is always fresh and is a must with out spaghetti nights. Outstanding place to go!

I can’t believe that there aren’t more reviews for this location! I’ve been coming here since I was a boy. Simply the best and freshest bread in all of Pittsburgh. Nothing even comes close.

No bread anywhere is as good as Mancini’s. My husband’s family is from Pittsburgh and coming home to Pittsburgh means someone is going to make a Mancini’s run. We usually get the twists and one of his cousins brings her own butter on the road. She says you just can’t eat Mancini’s without butter. We have it for all occasions and everyone loves it.

I cannot resist the pepperoni bread and the rolls. Takes me back to my childhood and family trips to Mancini’s for bread.

I’ve been going here for years it’s ALWAYS been excellent! I’m surprised that this place hasn’t been featured on Food Network yet.
I do wish they sold breadbowls. Nevertheless, I imagine that all of their breads will pair with your soup of the day.

The bread is amazing! Several choices in breads available and it’s open almost 24×7! Tons of restaurants serve their bread. You have to treat your out of town guests to this treat!

Every Pittsburgher knows Mancini bread. Every one. But getting it in McKees Rocks is different. Fresh. I mean FRESH! I love stopping in here where the bread is still warm and picking up a loaf or two. It’s not the same at any other location. It’s not the same from the grocery store although its good anywhere you get it. But ah, in the Rocks? Yep, this is how its meant to be. Go ahead, indulge! Feel free to pick up a few extra!

I remember this Mancini’s from when I was a little kid! I always looked forward to their bread. Stopped back there on 12÷15÷11 to bring some bread home with us. The bakery has changed quite a bit, but they’re still there, and the bread is still EXCELLENT!

BREAD bakery, open ²⁴⁄₇. THE best Italian bread in the US of A, bar none. Mancini’s bread is sold at a lot of the local supermarkets, but it’s best fresh out of the oven at the source. Walk in and get yourself a loaf of their famous «twist», «homemade», or raisin bread. Better yet, get 2 loaves. You’ll eat one loaf in the car on the way home.
