My boyfriend and I went on Valentine’s Day for dinner. After not really eating anything the entire day we were starving. We got chorizo tacos and later that night started getting sick. The next day we went to urgent care and was told it was food poisoning. Last night into this morning I nearly fainted from being dehydrated and I am missing work because of it. Will not be going back. It was already shut down in 2013 for having a 41 out of 100. This is just ridiculous.

To all the road warriors out the… disregard the reviews on this place that are 2 yrs old and go here. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, and our server Martin was a real pleasure.

There are many options in McDonough for Mexican, some good some not so good. This place has great food and more importantly great AUTHENTIC Mexican food. My wife has food allergies and they do their best to accommodate her which is not an easy task.

My friend and I took a trip to McDonough to see her cousin. We wanted Mexican food, so he suggested this place. I didn’t have time to check the Unilocal reviews or I probably wouldn’t have given it a chance, since Unilocalers mentioned a 41 review. However, the score is currently 86(I just checked), so I’m not freaking out. The place was very clean. Our waitress wasn’t very outgoing, but she was very efficient and did an excellent job taking our orders and serving us. One person in our party Mentioned that her quesadilla meat was too salty, but it was otherwise very good. She said it was much better after adding sour cream. I had the vegetarian granero burrito, which included a cheese enchilda, rice and beans. This was a huge meal for $ 6.99. The salsa, guacamole and chips were excellent. My meal was very good. Maybe it’s me, but I can’t find a great authentic(not Tex-Mex) Mexican restaurant in Atlanta. It seems that they have all moved to the burbs. I almost gave it three stars, since I wasn’t blown away by my meal, but I really don’t think that they have received fair reviews. Maybe they have improved since the terrible reviews or maybe we just got lucky. If I ever have a reason to visit McDonough again, I will probably visit.

We have been sampling all the local Mexican restaurants since moving to this area. While this one isn’t anything special over other area options, it’s certainly as good as any. We will be happy to come again. The facilities are clean and in good repair; excellent, attentive service; food nicely presented.

Went for lunch on Cinco de Mayo. I got the chicken flautas, my husband got the lunch fajitas. He said the fajitas were delicious, and the flautas were the best I’ve ever had with flavorful chicken and perfect crispness. BUT: His iced tea tasted… moldy, or fermented, or something. A few days later we saw on the news that the place got a 41 on its last health inspection score. If it wasn’t just down the road from our house I’d be less disappointed, because El Agave and La Parilla are not the best, in my opinion.

I actually know the owner myself and the food is pretty good. He has good beer specials and the food is fresh. Unfortunately the Parilla is so close that it is interfering with any potential business and to be frank I do not even know why people love la Parrilla so much, it’s not that great. Anyways, doesn’t hurt to try it guys.

Walked in and I heard battleling tones between the TV& the music. I knew I wasn’t going to want to stay here with all that racket going on. The place is located next to a grocery store bearing the same name. This is more of your«No frills type of place» Small liquor shelf with a limited selection of drinks. Small salsa bar. .99 draft beer special. I wouldn’t try this place again not with La Parilla a few minutes down the road.
