Absolute diamond in the rough! The servers are very polite, professional, and attentive, the appearance is VERY appealing, a beautiful log cabiny feel, and the food… Oh my god. The food is amazing! Hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked, seasoned to perfection. My family and I just moved to the area, and will DEFINITELY be frequenting this establishment.

This place has buffet everyday with different entrees each day. Food is homestyle country cooking just like grandma used to do! Forget Cracker Barrel, you know the place where they charge you a good amount of money for small portions, McConnells Kitchen is fabulous and if it was located in a town the size of Rock Hill or larger, you probably wouldn’t be able to get a table in the evenings! Anyways, its worth the drive over to McConnells for this place!!!

Fun place! Food is good and staff is super friendly. We ordered off the menu instead of going with the country buffet. We are trying the buffet next time! Tons of choices, veggies, salad bar, soup and dessert. It was also fun to check out the flea market next door! We will definitely be back!

Fantastic! Favorite restaurant in York County! Stumbled across it taking my mom to lunch. Live in Charlotte, but will be back with my family.

I’m glad I made the drive. I went for breakfast and if I wasn’t trying to cut back a bit I would have gone for the buffet. Well stocked and looked freshly cooked. Lots of your standard southern staples and fruit and muffins. I ordered the country fried steak, hash browns and biscuit with an added egg. All were well prepared and tasted good. Nothing I couldn’t have gotten somewhere closer to home. The things that will tip the scales and have me going back are the nice drive, the barn décor and the flea market out back.

Great half pound burger. Bun was toasted, bacon crispy, and buffet had nice crust from flat top. A little dried from then pressing it, but still tasty. I love sweet potato fries and the ones here were really tasty. Wife has chicken Philly and Mac n cheese. Her chicken was over cooked a little too, but said sub was still pretty good. She liked the Mac and it was a very generous portion to be a side. The couple with us got the buffet… Our meals were like$ 7.50 each… the buffet was $ 13 our 14 a person… They said it was good, but not with that price. I think it was high since it had ribs… maybe they could consider a buffet price for less if you don’t have ribs?(Think Chinese place with vs without crab legs). In the middle of no where. Nice place inside.

McConnells kitchen is friendly the food is always good but I don’t believe they thought they would grow as fast as they did. so if you don’t want to wait in line go early.

Cute rustic restaurant with friendly staff. The prices for lunch and dinner varies depending on the meats. Today was $ 8.99 and featured roast turkey, fried chicken(yummy like grandma’s), dressing(disappointed tasted like bad Stove Top) summer squash medley, red mashed potatoes(good and buttery), fried okra and loaded potato soup. The salad featured what looked and tasted like fresh cut lettuce and fruits. Dessert was included choice of chocolate or pineapple upside down cakes. Drinks are Coke products and tea and they were under two bucks! Bar has big flatscreen with a half dozen seats. All and all it was not as delicious as the hype, yet a tasty alternative to fast-food lunches. Would go again if I happen to be off the beaten path. :)

Excellent home style country cooking. Fair price, fresh salad bar and the deserts, especially cherry cobbler are wonderful! Very clean and friendly staff. Haven’t tried the breakfast buffet yet, but I’ve heard it was great and they are opened on Sundays until 4pm.

This is a out of the way gem of a restaurant in little McConnells, SC. You have to find to eat at it, but you will be rewarded! They are well known all around for their country breakfast buffet. It has everything you need to start your day off with a BANG, Eggs(all ways), bacon, sausage(patties&links), toast, grits(thems good country eats for y’all Yankees), hash browns, pancakes(have to ask for them and they make ‘em fresh for ya), fresh fruit, and anything else I left out. It is only 6.99 too! If breakfast isn’t your thing, they also have a buffet at lunch and dinner. Can’t tell ya what they have at each buffet at each day because they rotate things, except Friday nights when it’s all you can eat BBQ and ribs for 12.99. We went for the first time last night(Friday 03/27/2015) and it was sooo good. They had homemade chili, BBQ ribs, BBQ(pulled pork), fried chicken, salad bar, fresh fruit, collard greens, fried okra, homemade mac&cheese, smashed potatoes, blackeyed peas, potato salad, cole slaw, and three fresh cobblers to choose from(cherry, apple, and blueberry). They had more but I cannot remember everything! They also have a menu with a few things but I did not really look at it because we had come for the BBQ buffet. It was well worth our drive and I cannot wait to try the breakfast buffet! Folks say it is just spectactular! Give McConnells kitchen a try and you will leave stuffed and satisfied!
