The go-carts at this park are literally second to none. Need to catch up on nextflix? Why not do it while driving a go-cart. Need to pay a utility bill? Why not do that while driving a go-cart. Want to ensure safety while enjoying a gentle breeze whisking across your face? Enjoy a go-cart ride at Zone action park. If you’re depressed and are looking for another reason why your life suuuuucks, be sure to check out the go-carts at Zone Action park. I would of had more fun going to toysRus and riding a power wheels car around the store or the old person/disabled cart at Target. The park reminded me of driving around with the geriatrics who inhabit Boca Raton Florida — the only thing missing was the turn signal indicating right while continuing to drive straight. Bottom line is this: Zone action park should be renamed to Zone No Fun, No Action, SlowA** Go-Carts Park. –Winner.

The Go Karts here are extremely regulated for small children and slow speeds. Great track but a bummer in terms of speed.

The Zone Action Park doesn’t have a whole lot of action. I went with minimal expectations and I was still disappointed. Their best attraction should be the go karts but they were so slow I could have had more fun riding the motorized cart at Walmart. The bumper boats were the usual disappointment and the mini golf course was worn down. Arcade was small and the prizes avaliable are basically impossible to get with the amount of tickets avaliable to win. All in all… If you’re 8 years old and have never been to a real amusement park or had much fun anywhere then this is the place for you.

Our recent experience was fair. I miss the days when the stone was natural and not painted ugly colors and I especially miss the waterfall that used to run through the golf course many moons ago. We got the«special» which was for Spring Break, wrist bands for 2 hours unlimited bumper boat rides, go cart rides, and mini golf. It added up to a lot of money for four of us. So we drop $ 70 which to me is a lot, and then get in line for go-carts and then I am cut in line and did not get to ride with my family. Next we tried the bumper boats. We stood in line several minutes but no one ever showed up. I had to go in and tell the manager and soon after, he sent someone out to run the ride. You will get soaked on that ride. My youngest liked it because he could drive by himself, unlike on the go carts. Young kids liked to sneak in line through the bars and cut the line which was super annoying. We were able to switch back and forth between the bumper boats and go carts several times before our time was almost up and we went to mini golf. By that time, the park was pretty crowded and the lines were getting longer. Mini golf was kind of boring. It could definitely use a sprucing up and more exciting(who am I kidding, actually any type of) obstacles. If you have been to other mini golfs that are remotely fun, you will be disappointed by this one. For the Valley I guess it is awesome because it’s the only one. The arcade sucked. A lot of things were broken or turned off. It was really loud and a poor experience. Plus when you turn in your tickets, they try to steal your card so you have to spend money to get a new one next time.

My husband and I were looking for something to do in McAllen one evening and came across The Zone. The Zone has mini golf(2 courses), go karts, bumper boats, a batting cage, and arcade games. We played a round of golf first. It was definitely fun but the course was pretty basic and one hole was filled with ants. We then decided to try playing the arcade games but most of them weren’t working so we had to stick with skee-ball. One of the staff members was very nice but two others weren’t very friendly. Most of the place was pretty run down. If they could spruce it up a bit it could be very nice! If you’re looking for some cheap, legal fun, this isn’t a bad option. Just don’t expect much!

Waste of money. We paid to get on the go-karts only to find that you can’t get on with sandals that don’t have a heel strap. If coming make sure to wear closed heeled shoes-so stupid. Oh but you can rent shoes for a fee– really?

We visited The Zone on Saturday with our three and six year old daughters. We were visiting the Rio Grande Valley to attend a friend’s wedding and we wanted to give our girls some play time outside and away from the hotel room. The zone has a diverse offering of children’s activities including; miniature golf, batting cages, go carts, bumper boats, and an arcade. We purchased a round of miniature golf for the two girls. They charged us $ 5.80 for the six year old and $ 0 for the three year old. Not a bad way to kill an hour and change on two 18 hole courses. Granted it was more like hockey than golf four little girls but they had a blast. The courses are colorful with lots of elevation changes that run up, down, and through a purple concrete mountain. The course is nicely landscaped and pleasant to play through. After golf we took the girls inside to play inside the arcade which had a decent selection of games. You purchase credits on a game card much like Dave and Busters. Our girls are young enough that they can entertain themselves on the game without us actually purchasing any game time. While inside we noticed they had a private area set up for child’s birthday party. If we lived in the area we would definitely consider this venue for a birthday party. We like that they offer a number of outdoor activities so that the focus isn’t just video games. They have a concession area that serves soft drinks and snacks as well. Our three year old was too short for the bumper boats and go carts so we didn’t give those a try but both of those activities looked like fun and well supervised by the staff.
