THISHOTELWASNOTHINGSHORTFROM A SMALLARTGALLERY! Very unique in that aspect. Every area of the hotel had art to be enjoyed. From the lobby, dinning area, bar, and all the way to your room. Fantastic and enjoyable! The customer service here is phenomenal and over the top! Truly setting the bar a notch higher for hotel hospitality. You have a large lounging area that can includes the lobby if you choose to, a full bar with long happy hours, bartenders that just hit the mark with every cocktail, outside lounging right out the backside of the bar with a 19 hole putting greens, comped dinner and hot breakfast, heated pool, gas/charcoal grills with outside sinks with lounging sofas and full tables with built in icechests, full kitchen, multiroom suites, and a 24 hour driving service that’ll happily take you where ever you need to go and come back from. Absolutely Grade A service! With service such as this… we will be staying here again next time we stay in McAllen.

You seriously don’t get this kind of value in the big city. $ 150 a night for a massive suite — king size bed, living room with foldout couch, two flat screen HD TVs, cable(including my addictions Bravo and E!), kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, stove; swimming pool, putting green, gym, free breakfast, free dinner, free happy hour, free parking, business room, bar, conference rooms. What? It’s brand spanking new, so it’s clean. And the McAllen-based owners take care of personal touches, like the water-based air fresheners that make the entire hotel smell like clean shampoo. Next work trip to McAllen I’m definitely booking my stay at Hawthorn Suites.

Price: Very reasonable price considering the space/location!(about $ 60 a night) Service: Extremely friendly and helpful! The receptionist was nice and even gave us a map of the complex so we would know exactly where to park. Bonus points for the adorable cat in the lobby! Room: Very spacious rooms with a full living room, bathroom and bed room. There was also a separate kitchen area that included utensils, pots/pans, hot plate, toaster, microwave and mini fridge. Amenities: Complementary breakfast from 6−9am, pool area, hot tub, BBQ area, and a gym.

A great place to stay away from the freeway. With many trees and plants, it feels like you are living in a cottage in a garden. The staff was very friendly and kind. The suites were nice, although it was odd that the couch in the living/dining room did not fold out, so we got a rollaway bed. Bathroom has a big soaking tub. Kitchen with sink, microwave and fridge. The windows open, which is important to me, because I like fresh air at night. The only thing I really didn’t like was the Sterno that used to keep the breakfast buffet hot. I couldn’t eat in the dining room because it smelled so bad! But eating in our room was very pleasant, if not convenient. A great place to stay, especially if you want to be near the NABA Butterfly Park.

Super friendly, clean, cozy and I love their tubs and beds! A great place to stay if you don’t mind a hotel that does not have a restaurant.
