I went to get a hydrotherapy treatment for the first time and asked if there was anything that I needed to know, the staff said just to bring a swimsuit. I ended up with horrible bruising and now have to go get a new dress for an even that I have tonight. If I had been told about the bruising, I would have never scheduled it. I called and spoke to Eric who asked if I was tall and that it never happens, well it happened to me! Also, if height matters, shouldn’t they ask when booking the appointment? I am very disappointed and feel as though they really don’t care. I am left with horrible bruises.

I walked in for Aveda products. The owner was outside we started talking. Really a nice guy. I got my products and a pedicure. They did a nice job. I will be back for a monthly facial. They use the same products from Hungary I use. I have found a new home for pampering while I am here

Best salon and spa in the valley. For hair, ask for Rita. She fixed my uneven/​too dark color perfectly without damaging my hair when three other salons said it wouldn’t be possible without a whole lot of damage and a steep price. The cut was also exactly how I wanted it. Her and everyone here are very friendly and the prices are reasonable for a spa and salon of this quality.

I go to Lori for color every time I’m in town. She takes her time to pick a color that is exactly what you’re looking for. I’m terrible at describing what I want and she manages to wow me every time. She’s great at what she does.

Definitely recommend. We came here to get our hair and makeup done for a wedding and the hair looked pretty good. The makeup also looked good — we had 2 different make up people… one was VERY SLOW and the other did it quickly. I wish the slow person had 1 person instead of 2.
I know there aren’t many reviews for places in the valley so I wanted to support this business and spread the word. :)
I recommend them offering their guests something to drink though if they are going to be there for a long time and getting multiple services. Also, if the person is a slow worker, don’t schedule 2 guests with them!

Not bad. Probably will be the place I go to if I’m down from Houston and really need a haircut.

Excellent service here from colorist, Paula and stylist, Rita. Paula gave a great consultation. She made observations about my hair that were spot on. When I told her what I wanted, she was completely honest with me, telling me what was and was not possible, given the current color and condition of my hair. Since I had to have some color matching done, the coloring process took 3 hours. The entire time, Paula was attentive and extremely personable — great sense of humor! Rita understood exactly what I wanted in a haircut and got me out of the chair in about 30 minutes looking great. Have already recommended to friends. Well worth every penny! When it comes to a hair salon, you definitely get what you pay for!

I can’t believe what I am writing, on so many levels. a) When did McAllen get such a great spa like this? And b) When did I become such a city snob that I apparently didn’t think it was possible for McAllen to have such a spa.
I am traveling through McAllen right now and had some extra time today. Nursing a sore shoulder, I thought I would try this place, based solely in the Unilocal reviews. I tried only the massage, so can’t speak to anything else except atmosphere. Before I start drooling in my comments about the message, let me comment briefly in the atmosphere. They try. It is not a dream spa. But it is also far from the worst I have ever visited. For the most part, it is comfortable and clean, if not particularly tastefully appointed. But, they tried. And they get points for that.
But for realz, folks, my deep tissue massage with Ann was incroyable. I imagine it would be tough to massage someone for the first time. Especially if you know the person is just passing through and may never be back again.
Ann was incredibly responsive to my areas of pain and to my needs and I left feeling fifty times better than when I came in.
It was one of the best massages of my life. (Ann, are you reading this? I hope so.)

I was in McAllen for business and needed to get my nails done. Carina did a great job on them. It’s a really nice day spa. She cleaned out the pedicure chair prior to me getting into it and after I was done. On Wednesday nights they are open to 10pm. Which is great. Overall, I will definitely recommend to others. If you want to pay a little more and want great service, this is the place to go.

I basically chose de Sanchez blindfolded because I couldn’t find any great reviews on the Web at the time. Luckily, I made a great choice! Analisa is my regular stylist, and while she may have her own crazy hairdo and colors (think of a Hispanic Katy Perry), she always cuts mine in the simple, professional style I prefer. I have naturally wavy, thick thick thick hair and she is excellent at thinning and blending my layers so that it looks like it’s all one length but is instead tons lighter due to the thinning. I have been going to her for around 1.5 years now and I will never go to another stylist as long as I am in the RGV!

When I travel I like having a nice set of paws and the girls at de Sanchez did a phenomenal job! I adored the cheetah print theme that was visible everywhere in the salon.
The receptionist greeted us and made us feel more than welcomed within seconds of walking through the door. The girls that helped my aunt and I were simply amazing; they went above and beyond our expectations. They were courteous and polite throughout every aspect of our manicures.
The lotions that they used made my skin feel soft and supple and she also recommended a product to use on my dry cuticles and proper usage of the product.
They also featured a wide variety of OPI and Zoya (I think) polishes and picking a color was almost impossible.
The girls also had pretty good social skills and were able to make the usual «small talk» not awkward but comfortable and seemed natural.
The cleanliness of this salon was a perfect ¹⁰⁄₁₀! The girl that was doing my nails cleaned her station just before I was seated, mid way through (minor wiping away flecks and particles that were on the station), and a thorough cleaning and sanitization as soon as we were through. The young man that was sweeping also did a thorough sweep through of the whole nail salon, hair salon area, and the hallways.
Whenever I’m in McAllen again I will surely be returning to de Sanchez! :)

I love this place! The spa services are phenomenal, with the sauna and showers available to use after your session. They use pure organic products in their facials and they also sell Aveda products!
After seeing Hilda for a facial and waxing, I became a regular. She is fantastic and really knows what she’s doing.

Wow. I was totally blown away by de Sanchez! I’ve been to plenty of resort day spas and de Sanchez was every bit as amazing! Being from Chicago, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I will defiantly be going back on a regular basis. The staff was super attentive and friendly and the deep tissue massage was unreal! The prices were also very reasonable as well. I know they went through a remodel about a year or so ago and the facilities are top notch!

My hubby and I scheduled a couple’s massage here about a year and a half ago, and we were not impressed! First of all, the ambience is not what you called relaxing. You can hear people talking from the next room and needless to say, the soothing” experience was not there at all.
We never went back and not plan on going; furthermore, we do NOT recommend any of our friends and family this place.
