I forgot to do a review when I had a vintage onyx ring repaired by this amazing jeweler. The ring’s band cracked, and they were able to repair it without hesitation. They were so incredibly kind to me, and repaired my ring for a fair price. I Am going back to them for resizing of a recently purchased ring, and cannot wait to browse their incredible selection.

High quality antique jewelry that you can trust. I’m not much for jewelry stores, but this is the only place I will go. They take the time to know the customer and can even tell me what my wife will like. That is customer service! Just got another ring today.

Traci was an incredible help in our hunt for an antique platinum wedding band. I have never seen a selection as large as hers. If you are looking for an antique engagement/wedding ring this is the place for you! Her prices were also on par with what I was seeing in my hunt in stores in Dallas and Northern Virginia.

Trustworthy! Traci’s been in the business for 30 years and knows jewelry. Not just diamonds — she’s a walking encyclopedia and an absolute, elegant, personable delight. With superb taste. From repairs to fine purchases & everything in-between, you get the same level of service & respect from this wonderful, lovely, family-owned business. Warm and welcoming, even on a busy Saturday, you will always be remembered and treated with care. As for the jewelry — if you love vintage, antique, modern, good vintage costume, Solovey has an incredibly well-edited collection. And I know they can also find you what you’re looking for — Traci’s been in the business a long time & knows everyone.

My fiancé and I went into Solovey’s, looking for an antique engagement ring. We were on a budget, but wanted a ring that was unique, beautiful, and included at least a.80 carat diamond. I explained our budget and what i was looking for to the salesperson. Traci Solovey was so nice… She smiled and was very gracious, helping me find just what i wanted. I saw an antique looking engagement ring with no center diamond that was priced at $ 4800.00. Immediately, I thought, «This is out of our league altogether.» Well, she found a gorgeous, European diamond to place in its center, which came from another ring in the case. She cleaned it, placed the diamond in the center, sized it Twice, as I had made the mistake myself of having it sized too big), appraised it, and had it all ready for $ 5000.00TOTAL. I could not have asked for a kinder, more accommodating salesperson. This is a family-owned business, where service and quality are most important. Traci and her mother are great!!! When my sister saw the ring for the first time, she asked if I paid double for it– as it looked astronomically expensive… no, I did not:) This ring is so gorgeous, and the team there makes you feel very special. I highly recommend this jewelry store.

New to the area and needed a pair of earrings repaired along with my diamond wedding band and engagement rings cleaned. Traci Solovey was very welcoming and helpful. She repaired the earning in 2 hours and cleaned my two rings for free. I will definitely be going back for all my jewelry needs. Thank you, Traci!

UPDATE: We went in to have our wedding rings made this weekend. Both mother & daughter were very helpful and knowledgeable. I picked out a ring I was very happy with and feel that I got a fair price. Thanks again!

I can’t say enough about the positive experience I had at Solovey. Three items of note: 1. Great selection of estate jewelry. I was looking for engagement rings for quite some time — I wanted something distinctive and timeless and as you might imagine, that requires a lot of shopping around. My fiancée and I wanted to look at estate rings, but most stores we visited had a very sparse selection. I guess estate rings are hard to come by for jewelers and its probably even harder to find items that are in good condition and with designs that hold up through the years. After going to several stores and not finding anything of interest, we found literally over a dozen rings that we serious considered purchasing at Solovey — all beautiful, all in great condition. The owner has a great eye for estate pieces, and apparently a good source. 2. Very friendly and helpful service. Sometimes its hard to get good service in a jewelry store as a young person, because a) young people don’t make much and b) young people often know very little about jewelry and ask a ton of questions. Solovey doesn’t seem to have this attitude toward younger customers. They enthusiastically answered our TONS of questions(sometimes twice), took time to figure out what we were looking for, and helped us reach a decision with no pressure. Its hard to find this level of service in any business. 3. Reasonable pricing. Because of the vastness of their estate selection, we felt like we found several items that were within reach of our budget and left the store comfortable with the price we paid. Definitely worth a trip if you’re in the market for jewelry.

Yes I have a jewelry problem… but I’m putting it to good use by sharing the knowledge. Solovey is one of the jewelry stores in the DC/northern VA area I would go to for outstanding vintage jewelry. They have a great selection and are really nice. You can also go to Tiny Jewel Box & Chas. Schwartz(DC) and Heirloom Jewels(in Baltimore). All of these companies have sucky websites but they have quite a selection of vintage jewelry. Also there are gem and jewelry shows at the Chantilly VA convention center and the DC convention center about 4 times a year(see . There are a few dealers who have excellent vintage inventory(Efim GIlim and Manhattan Jewels are 2 of the best). Online try newyorkestateje… Whatever you do, look around before making a decision if you are buying a vintage engagement ring. My jewelry obsession was started when my husband gave me his grandmother’s 1917 platinum/diamond engagement ring for our engagement. And because I didn’t know anything about jewelry then I took it to a jeweler(located in Chevy Chase) in DC who destroyed the engraving detail around the top(when setting the stone more securely) and destroyed the band’s engraving(when sizing… I learned later that it could have been sized differently to save the engraving despite what they told me at the time). I have to live with those mistakes everyday. Don’t let amateurs sell you jewelry or repair your jewelry! Good luck.
