We have shopped at PBK at Tyson’s Corner for three years. It used to be a really pleasant experience with everything spread out and it was easy to get around. In the last year or so, going there is always a nightmare. The space is too crowded, the checkout line never has any order to it, and the staff seems to get worse every time. It’s almost impossible to get friendly, attentive service when you are there. You can wait in line with someone dawdling around behind the counter and looking at you, but not offering to help(this has happened the last three times). Nobody ever knows who is next in line when it’s busy and there is no flow so if you have a child or a stroller with you, you have to back track through the line of people to get away from the register. When we were there earlier this month, there were tee pees set up right in front of the register with chairs inside of them. It was not possible to get a single stroller through there to check out without having to lift it up and over, let alone to push a double stroller or wheelchair through. Because of how unhelpful people are and the overall layout of the store, you’re better off shopping online or going somewhere else altogether.

Customer service is terrible at this location. staff are not educated on the products they sell and are not helpful at all. Went in to purchase an anywhere chair for my son and was told it would be done with monogramming in 2 weeks so I thought great! 2 weeks later it’s still not done so I call to check and they tell me they no longer have a person who monograms there! So I ask to speak to a manager and Georgia speaks to me saying that she will order it online for me and have it shipped to me within 3 – 5 days. hopeful, I waited it out and Nothing!!! No chair, no phone call, nothing. So I go into the store once again and speak to Georgia who now has no idea who I am or any memory of ever speaking to me!!! This place is an absolute joke and so is its staff.

I love Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids. I’m surprised this place only has 2 stars? I’m so glad I don’t have kids of my own yet, because I would most definitely go broke from this store. Being an aunt to so many kiddies is bad enough as is. This store is definitely not a fit for everyone. I believe you have to have a certain taste to be able to shop here, it’s not the disney store all around kiddie items. The store has a more mature feel for kids. In fact, some of the items are so cute that I wish I could have it in my own room(and maybe I do, guess that piece will just have to remain a mystery). They have everything from furniture to toys and they even have rocking chairs for mom, plus more. I will say though, their staff isn’t as friendly as you would think a store like this would be. It’s always very difficult to find help and when you actually get someone, they act very stuck up. I can’t wait to go back in to pick up some items for my little kiddies!

Worst customer service ever. Staff is not knowledgeable about the products they sell in store. Also staff was incredibly rude when I asked about specific information about their cribs. Their response always has been«go look online». UM if i wanted to look online. why would i be in the store?

Went in looking for cribs and Nursery furniture/bedding. Customer service is lacking. All three times we went to visit, not a single sales person approached us with an offer to answer questions or help. They were not helping other customers either. Looked like three or four people were stocking. When we approached someone asking for information(sales, promotions, material and safety such as greenguard certification), they pointed to the computers in the middle of the store. Store appears disorganized. There are no clear pricing or labels on furniture. We would have liked to purchase several big ticket items, but it looks like we will be going elsewhere.

The entire nursery of my first born is from either PBK or RH Baby and Child. So let’s just say I spent a lot of time dealing with PBK during my second and third trimester… and after my child was born. Set aside the reality that the PB line is expensive, I was still pretty annoyed with my experiences at this store. In January, I purchased four 84″ black-out curtains for the baby’s nursery as there was a sale on drapes. About six weeks later, we had the nursery painted and attempted to hang the curtains. Only three of them were(approx) 84″. The last one was 20″ short. This meant that I had to drive back to McLean, deal with Tysons, and exchange the stupid curtain they’d mislabeled. It was an investment of several hours and entirely their fault. We tried hanging the curtains again. This time they were all approximately the same length… but the length still varied by as much as 4″. I know my perfectionism is my own cross to bear, but when I pay nearly 400 $ for curtains for a child’s nursery, I don’t think it’s too much to ask that I don’t have to hem them myself. After several calls with the store, they finally located four of the curtains that were the same length. Of course, at this point, I’m on medically required bedrest, so exchanging them took weeks. There was no offer to ship them to me or offer any compensation for their screw ups and my wasted time. When I was finally able to make it into the store, I got a ton of attitude from the gentleman who ‘offered’ to help me. His name tag said he spoke German. Maybe PBK should consider adding ‘I speak condescending jerk’ to the name tag. He acted like I was the one who had caused the need for the exchange, what with my ridiculous expectation than an 84″ curtain will be 84″ — not 82″ or 86″. Best of all, as I took the new curtains, he commented that they get this complaint a lot. Well, then maybe you should do something about that. Got the curtains home. Hung them. I have blinds and curtains in each windows and it’s still not a true black-out, but holy hell, I so do not have the energy to deal with these people again. I’d say I’d just go online from now on, but their shipping fees are so ridiculous, I probably won’t do that either.

This is a nice store offering a wide selection of stuff for the pampered kid :) It’s a bit pricey for certain items but they offer good quality and selection to justify that price. Customer service is top notch too!

Love the Pottery Barn Kids! I am sure I have spent a small fortune there in the past year as we moved both our kids into big kid furniture! I decided to purchase bedding and accessories here for my daughter room. All items we have purchased have held up well and we are very happy with them! I only wish I would have purchased my son’s quilt here verses where I got one from as it has not held up well and has been hard to find coordinating accessories for it.

PBK is one of my favorite places to shop for baby and child items. As much as I try to stay away, for whatever reason, the quality and appeal of their products keeps me coming back.

What a delightful store if you’re outfitting a child’s room and don’t want to ruin your credit! Colorful sheets, curtains, quilts and crib bumpers, plus wooden American toys. Lots of decorating ideas and convenient accessibility online. (Caution: Imports many products from China). The whitewashed interior of the shop shows off the wood furnishings and textiles to advantage. Whimsy and a dedication to every child’s fascination with color is played out on shelves full of gingham-lined baskets, or colored buckets. Dollhouses and make-believe appliances, lamps, rugs and curtains are all color coordinated for you. Located on the lower level of Tyson’s Corner Mall, near Bloomingdale’s. Easy parking in the garage just across the street.
